  1. Pssh, Kofi skippin out on this geeky movie news for sports. ;)

    • nnnnnnneeeeeeeeerrrrd-uh

  2. Box Office Battle
    1 Lone Survivor
    2 Frozen
    3 Hercules
    4 Wolf of Wall Street
    5 The Hobbit
    10 Paranormal Activity

  3. 1. Frozen
    2. Lone Survivor
    3. Paranormal Activity
    4. Hercules
    5. Wolf of Wall Street
    10. Grudge Match

  4. I went ahead and listened to the spoilers for PA:TMO even though I haven’t seen it.Now that I heard it I do wanna see it now bcuz it has tie-ins to the other ones. Now they just need a spin off of PA with nothing but a black cast like a madea movie:)

  5. I liked Elysium. It didn’t quite meet the tremendous expectations, but it still was an enjoyable sci-fi flick tackling important issues. Yeah, it did that a bit hamfisted, but considering that we still can’t get our sh*t together as a so called modern society I’d say the time for subtlety is over. I also don’t have an issue with the shuttles full of medbeds just sitting around that no one uses making no sense, as you criticized during the review podcast. Clearly they were meant for emergencies (accidents on the space station) to accomodate a bigger group of injured citizens at once. The thing with Kruger showed that the brain still needs to be alright for reconstruction, so time is of the essence during a bigger accident, like an explosion or meterorite damage etc.

I think one trailer and some posters are more than enough to promote a movie. There really is no need to release half the movie through several trailers. Someone has to start pulling back on the insane marketing machine, so the Jack Ryan movie might as well go first.

Oh man… you guys shouldn’t have brought up that Need for Speed has better chances now that Fast & Furious 7 is delayed. Cue the conspiracy nuts…

I’ve said it before, I say it again: Emmerich’s Godzilla isn’t really a Godzilla movie. It’s a mislabeled but good “Beast from 20,000 Fathoms” remake. I like that flick and don’t really care about the trashy original Godzilla movies. Really looking forward to the new installment, though.

    My most anticipated movies:

    1. Godzilla
    2. Interstellar
    3. Edge of Tomorrow
    4. Captain America: Winter Soldier
    5. X-Men: Days of Future Past
    6. The Amazing Spider-Man 2
    7. Guardians of the Galaxy
    8. Jupiter Ascending
    9. Robocop

That’s it. There are other movies that I will watch without a doubt, but they will just arrive without me eagerly awaiting them. I must say that I don’t have much faith in Dawn of th Planet of the Apes. The teaser didn’t really grab me as much as it seems to grab most people, and that tedious teal/orange color grading is really putting me off big time. Here’s hoping that it’s just a temporary edit for the teaser and that the actual movie will not look like that.

I liked the first two Paranormal Activity movies, but after that I stopped watching them, because it became apparent that they were just going to milk this low expense/high revenue franchise to death with ever declining quality. I don’t really buy that this one is worth watching. ;)

  6. Box office battle

    1. Frozen
    2. Lone Survivor
    3. The hobbit
    4. Her
    5. Hercules
    10 anchorman 2

  7. Hey whatever happened to screenrant shirts giveaway?
    -
Also reminder for Rob, watch detention(2011)

    • I hit a major snag with the production of those shirts. I’ve still got everyone’s info and will touch base once we’ve got it sorted.

      • No rush, Ben. These things happen. When we do get them we’ll be grateful. :)

        • But my torso is cold and bare….

          • please continue…. ;-)

  8. #1 Lone Survivor
    #2 Frozen
    #3 The Legend of Hercules
#4 Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones
#5 The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
    #10 Her

  9. I agree wth Anthony – Cosmo NEEDS to be in Guardans! Best Character in the comics by a clear mile – and without him who is Rocket gonna argue with!

    • Maybe Rocket will just treat Groot like crap ;)

    • Oh no – I don’t think Cosmo SHOULD be in it. I just think it’s HILARIOUS that they’re pretty much hiding the fact that the guys take orders from a dog dressed as a Russian.

      Racoon – CHECK
      Vin Treesel – CHECK
      Talking dog – WTF?!

      • Oh Man! Disappointed! I thougt I’d found another Cosmo lover! (lover as in really like the character – not ‘doggy spacesuit on the bedroom floor’ kind of lover!)

  10. One that missed the list…Muppets Most Wanted. Perhaps it is because I have a kid who wants to see it and we had so much fun watching the first one. Beaker sang Nirvana. Come on, that’s funny. I like the nostalgia associated with the Muppets…so it would be in my top ten.

And when I heard Rob (I think) mention that Edge of Tomorrow sounded like a fake movie title within another movie. I immediately thought that it was the name of the fake movie in America’s Sweethearts.

  11. I loved your opening! Power Rangers in Space is a pretty good show.

  12. Great Podcasts. Always fun to listen to. I figured I’d put my personal list of movies I want to see the most in 2014 from 20 to1. Some may agree or disagree with the films and or placement. But it’s just my opinion.

    20. The Lone Survivor (yes, only because I haven’t seen it yet even though it’s already out)
    19. Edge of Tomorrow
    18. Maleficent
    17. Robocop
    16. Divergent
    15. 300: Rise of An Empire
    14. Transcendence
    13. Dawn of The Planet of The Apes
    12. The Hobbit: There and Back again
    11. Hercules: The Thracian Wars
    10. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1
    9. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
    8. Exodus
    7. Guardians of the Galaxy
    6. Interstellar
    5. Godzilla
    4. Transformers: Age of Extinction
    3. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
    2. The Amazing Spider-Man 2
    1. X-Men: Days of Future Past
