Paranormal Activity 3: The Unanswered Questions
Here’s the entire Paranormal Activity movie trilogy summarized in chronological order, with the connections between the films pointed out. It should go without saying that THERE ARE MAJOR SPOILERS IN THROUGHOUT THIS ARTICLE.

How does Paranormal Activity 3 tie into the other films?
Paranormal Activity 3 is set in 1988 when sisters Kristi and Katie are young (5 and 9, respectively). It is meant to chronicle the events that the girls cannot fully remember in the first two films – namely the demonic entity first coming to haunt them. The girls’ mom has a boyfriend, Dennis, who begins to film the phenomenon happening in their home. The mom, Julie, has decided not to have any more kids – much to the chagrin of her mother (the girls’ grandmother), Lois. A mysterious symbol drawn on a crawl space ceiling in the girls’ room leads Dennis to a book about a coven of witches in the 1930s who served demons by brain-washing girls of child-bearing age into having sons for the demon to collect, before wiping away the child-bearer’s memory of the event. Dennis tries to show this explanation to Julie, but she will not buy it.
The demon makes a bond with Kristi, in particular (which she refers to as her friend “Toby”). After repeated attacks, Kristi eventually promises to do the demon’s bidding in order to save her sister from harm. Kristi begs her mom to take them from the house to grandma’s house (apparently, the demon’s request), but Julie, still in denial, refuses. For “motivation,” the demon then tears apart the kitchen in front of Julie, which sends her running off to grandma’s house with the kids. Thinking they are finally safe, Julie awakens in the night to the sound of cars pulling up to Lois’ home. It is then revealed that Lois is part of the coven of witches from the ’30s that Dennis saw in the book, and that she serves the demon terrorizing them (she had the same symbol hidden on her wall that the demon drew on the crawl space ceiling). Gathered with the rest of her coven, Lois watches as the demon kills Julie and Dennis. She then leads her granddaughters up the stairs to an unknown fate, with the demon in tow.
Paranormal Activity 1 & 2
Jump to 2005, when an adult Katie delivers stuff from Lois’ old house (Lois has seemingly died) to a pregnant Kristi and her husband Dan. This includes a necklace and a box of old video tapes (Dennis’s 1988 tapes AND a set of tapes labeled “1992″). A year later, after Kristi has given birth to her son, Hunter, a “burglary” occurs at her home. Every room is completely trashed except for Hunter’s bedroom, but the only things stolen are the necklace and the video tapes. Soon after, strange paranormal events begin to occur in Kristi and Dan’s home. Their housekeeper Martine claims it is an evil spirit, tries to protect the family via prayer and incense – and gets fired for her trouble by Dan, who will not even begin to entertain thoughts of the supernatural being real in any form. Upon visiting, Katie and Kristi reminisce about that mysterious period from their childhood (which they cannot recall) that led to their family being broken, and their childhood home burning down. The events happening in Kristi’s home seem vaguely similar to deep-seated feelings the girls have of that childhood trauma; Katie is worried Kristi will ‘end up like their mother.’
Kristi’s step-daughter Ali begins to research demonic mythology, and discovers that humans could make deals with demons for wealth and power, in exchange for the soul of their first-born sons (a deal seemingly made by Lois and her coven, or Lois’ mother – possibly the founder of the coven). If the deal maker didn’t have a son, the demon would haunt the deal maker’s family until a male heir could be collected. Kristi’s infant son Hunter is revealed as the first male heir to be born into their family since the 1930s (Lois had hoped Julie would break that cycle, and encouraged her to have more children – but no such luck).
The paranormal activity in Kristi’s home begins to escalate; at one point, Kristi herself is dragged down into the basement by the demon and is kept there for hours. When Kristi is released, her family finds the basement door covered in scratches, with the word “Meus” (Latin for “Mine”) scratched in the door (either meaning Kristi or Hunter or both belong to the demon). Ali becomes convinced that Kristi has been corrupted by the demon and convinces her father of this by showing him footage of Kristi being dragged into the basement by some invisible force. Dan calls in Martine (the nanny he previously fired), who informs him that he cannot exorcise the demon completely – but he can pass the demon off to another family member. To protect his own family he decides to sacrifice Kristi’s sister, Katie. After a frightful confrontation with a possessed Kristi, Dan, Ali and Martine succeed in their plan and free her from the demon using a cross. Dan burns a photo of a young Katie (that Julie took on the girls’ first day of school) to complete the ritual (this seems to be the same photo that a few weeks later shows up in the attic of Katie and Micah’s home). Afterwards, Kristi has no memory of being possessed.
Katie, meanwhile, has just moved into a new home with her boyfriend Micah. When strange paranormal activity begins to occur in their home, Katie confesses to Micah about the strange events from her and Kristi’s childhood - events which repeated when Katie was a teenager (age 13) and now and again throughout her adult life (a time we still haven’t seen in the films). She says that it’s felt like she’s always been haunted by something, though Micah is skeptical. Nevertheless, Micah begins to record the happenings and Katie eventually hires a psychic to assess the situation. The psychic (who states his expertise is not in demons, but in ghosts) reveals that the demon feeds off of negative energy; emotional friction between Katie and Micah is only strengthening it. Events escalate as Katie finds the photo of herself that Dan burned (she thought it lost in the house fire from her childhood) and starts to show signs of being possessed by the entity. Katie visits Kristi (3 weeks after Dan sent the demon her way) and explains the strange events occurring in her home. Dan reveals nothing about what happened to Kristi.
As more and more havoc is wrought, Katie and Micah try to reach out to a demonologist – but he is out of town. Frightened, they meet again with the psychic, who is instantly panicked by the malevolent presence in the house and flees the scene. When Katie is eventually physically assaulted by the demon, she and Micah decide they will flee to a hotel. Before they can leave, however, Micah discovers Katie gripping a cross (the one used to free Kristi) so tightly that her hand is bleeding. He burns the cross and the photo of Katie in anger, and an eerily tranquil Katie then informs him that all is well. Micah believes her, reluctantly.
The next night, Katie awakens in bed and watches over Micah sleeping before disappearing downstairs. Micah awakens to the sounds of Katie screaming as if being murdered/attacked and runs downstairs to aid her. Heavy footsteps are heard on the stairs, and then Micah’s corpse is flung at the camera, revealing a fully-demonic Katie as his murderer. The next night, demon-Katie appears at Kristi’s house and murders Dan and Kristi, before taking young Hunter into her arms and disappearing (Ali was not home at the time), with her whereabouts still unknown after three films.

Were the girls raised by their grandmother? I mean, why would the grandmother want to kill her daughter? Just because she wont produce a son? I mean, its still her daughter…
Secondly, in the first movie, Micha makes a statement, saying Katies mom shouldn’t visit if they don’t want negative energy. Was he refering to Katies grandmother? I mean, Katie and her sister know their mother died, right?

Maybe it was Toby as he is tired of waiting. Maybe she isnt dead (wheelchair/padded cell) so Grandma could take over the care and pruning of the girls.
Apparently some people are saying Julie wasn’t dead at the end of PA3 that she was floating then thrown down the stairs (( possessed at the time))) bur not dead. In one if the films the girls talking about remembering their mother crying I think she is alive

Uh, did you miss the part about her Mother being part of a Witch’s Coven who made deals with Demons? Do you seriously think that someone like that would even consider the fact that that was her daughter and they were her grand-daughters? Not likely, lol. Also, i do believe your second point was answered on an earlier page. Even so, i too wondered that but the explanation here sound’s feasible. It would make sense to wipe the children’s minds of their parents being murdered by a demon and then substituting a mother figure for them to grow up with to continue their grooming for the deal they made with the Demon.

Yo Lauren, the fact that the granny is so *vile* is one of the best bits of the film.
I think it’s also a little dig at her hypocritical generation remember that Manson was part of the hippy culture too ha ha!) and certainly something that prevails now. It’s an awesome dig, to me: at people who are greedy, egotistical and without any remorse.
Just can’t work out what happened to Hunter, considering the end of PA1!
In response to the “unsolved mystery” of the house burning down, seen in the trailer. I have one theory; being like that of the fate of Dennis’ car, the cult also burnt their house down. There is actually ‘proof’ of this from the first movie, remember the photo in the attic also how it was all frayed and burnt? How a demon can hold on to a photo in some sort of demon satchel is beyond me.
Why it was cut from the movie would probably be how Dennis’ camera followed them to the fire. Some crazy sub-plot with camera whoring worshipers would have to be thought up.

@Robert all good questions/observations. The picture is burned because Kristi’s husband burned it in PA2 to exorcise the demon and send it to katie. the problem with the burning house footage from the trailer (and which the good folks here at screenrant are checking on) is that the burning house footage is dated 9/17/88 in the trailer. The last night in the house in PA3, before they go to Grandma Lois’s, is 9/21/88 or 9/22/88, so how could the house burned days before they went to grandma’s.
my theory is that maybe the burning house was one ending, and the witch coven was another ending…but the burning house does need to be addressed at some point as it’s been referenced in PA1 and PA2. As well as the issues with the dates and story flow re: the fire, unless Lois and/or Toby can time travel, then all bets are off.

This was covered in PA2. The picture was actually burned by Kristis husband as he pushed the demon out of her and into the next blood line Katie.

I just checked. It is Sep 17 1988 @02:49:04. Thing is with the screen cap it looks to be a one level house nothing like what their home appears like from the inside.
Also the date stamp on the film is a different ‘font’ then what we are use to.
Could that possible one story home that was on fire be the grandmas or their real father’s house?
My question: if Dennis and Julie are dead and the house burns down two days later, who is filming it burn?
First off we dont know if Julie is dead. Dennis is probably no longer with us.
Julie was just tossed down a small flight of steps and we assume she is referenced in later (time line wise) movies as we get nods to K&Ks mother.
2ndly the burning down of the house you saw may not be canon. While it is referenced in previous movies it just may not have worked out as we saw in the trailer.
Im not saying at a later date they may not include it but as such at this point in time I dont accept anything in the trailer as being canon.
Use the film only. Julie could still be alive Dennis is more then likely dead and we never saw a house burned down.

While I’m aware I dont really KNOW for a fact if Julie is dead or alive, would it make since for her to get thrown down the stairs and then just lay there at the foot of the stair case for ten minutes? Remember, Julie was thrown down the stairs at Dennis, then he got up and ran into the closet with Kristi. Which means from the time Dennis was in the closet till he saw Katie crouching by her mom crying, she would have been laying there the whole time. The only logical solution is she is deeeaaaadddd.

The logic you should be asking about is who is the “mom” they were referring to from the other movies?
Logic states with that information she is still aliiiiiiiiiiiive. While she may not be in a fully functional state she appears to be still alive.
movie was interesting left a whole lotta questions to be answered in later flims…seems to me everyone wants to answer the movie now…we still haven’t seen the teen yrs…or julies childhood…the ever mentioned fire in the trailer that i haven’t even seen has no bearing except for its mention in the moives…for all we do know is the fire is a part of the brain washing…we don’t know if the mom is alive…a mom is mentioned in the earlier movies but that could be a foster mother a stepmother…for all we know that could be the premise of PA4 where the sisters are in a foster home and tobi follows them…and i don’t think it sooo much as brain washing as they are made to told to forget soo the (bad things) would stop happening…all we can do is wait till the last moive before we start speculating the (MEANING OF THE FILM)…
Exactly!!! THey purposely leave all those unanswered questions so the can keep the series going for a few more movies!!! Is that so wrong? I mean we want to stick with this family, we dont want to jump to another family because the writers have no loose ends to tie up. It’s called a franchise and its similar to saw that each movie leaves more and more untied up ends.

I think the house burning was Dennis and Julie’s house, remember they all went to Grandma’s house, so they were killed in Grandma’s house. In order to make sure, Julie did not return home with the girls, the Grandma and her coven, burned the house down…..Dennis probably brought the tapes and other things with him to the Grandma’s house, to review them with her, not knowing the she was a part of it. So when Katie says that everything was lost in the fire, they did lose all of their things in the fire at their house and had to live with Grandma. As for the mom, maybe they are referring to a Step-mother, who went nuts after they came to live with the Dad….the demon probably drove her nuts, because it saw her as a problem. As for Katie remembering the demon standing over her bed and not Kristi, the demon would terrorize Katie… to make her afraid and then use that to get Kristi to do what it wanted. I think the demon knew that Kristi would be the one to bare a son and so that is why it focused on her so much.
There was no house burning down in PA3. (not to say there will not be one in the future)
Julie is not confirmed dead.
I did not see any indication (after the kitchen incident) that Julie wanted to go back home any time soon. Also if she WAS dead how could she return to the house anyway? Dennis could and the law would see that the biological grandmother would get custody of the kids.
Because of the way the date stamps are portrayed in the film and on the trailers not to mention the dates themselves we have to (at this time) forget about the house burning down as it doesn’t seem to gel with the rest of the timeline as it was portrayed in the trailer.
If the demon knew she was to bear a son why not just follow her around? Why torment/terrorize at all? He doesn’t need her just the son and apparently a blood line to possess?
I like your dad theory however that would hurt more then help as he is never mentioned in any of the films to date. It would seem like they were pulling stuff out of their butts to get it to work more.
I like their Bio dad being killed for not agreeing with Grandma. Much like her husband is out of the picture as was Kristis and poor Dennis.

Fire: when i left the theater my 1st question was where was the house burning down? I then watched #1 & #2 and realised how are we so sure there is a fire? Yes both girls allude to a fire in the first movies but how do we know they actually happened? I mean when the moms bf & friend read the book about the witches/occultwhatever u wanna call it, it says they brainwash young girls. we know they were brainwashed

It’s pretty obvious that Kristi agrees to “marry” Toby when he takes Katie into the closet. Kristi tells Toby “Okay….I’ll do it. I’ll marry you. Jut leave Katie alone.” then u see her trying on the veil later on in the movie at grandma’s house only to asume that Kristi told the grandma everything. One can assume that due to the coven arriving that they were there for the marriage ceremony.
Did We all watch the same movie?? some of you are asking really stupid questions. if you watched 1 and 2 its easy to tie a lot of pieces together with 3. Who is Toby? Clearly the bloodline made a deal with him for power and wealth, Why did he have to “marry” the girl? Alright so I just watched this film and it made me think of the 2nd. we know that Ali is the one who found Kristi and Daniel and even though that would be very, very traumatizing does anyone think that she would’ve looked at the tapes??? what about police?? and what about in this film where Randy ditches after his ordeal with Katie? this time at the end they didn’t have someone thanking them for the film. I know these details are minor but I’m very curious about these tapes especially since the ones from this movie went “missing” before Micah and Katie could watch them and possibly save themselves.
Just admit it, the movie was terrible. I found myself falling asleep and then the ending credits started to roll. I left the theatre thinking, “when was this movie going to get scary?” After doing such a good job with the second movie I’m really disappointed they couldn’t piece together a more scary and coherent third chapter.
As far as explanations, this is what I would say. 1) The grandmother was part of a coven who conjured Tobi into this world. 2) The mother and step-dad are dead. 3) The coven took the mother and step-dad back to their home and started the fire to explain their deaths and give a convenient excuse for the grandmother to take custody of the children. 4) When in the home, and before starting the fire, the coven collected the tapes. 5) The grandmother and children went upstairs at the end to prepare for Kristi and Tobi’s wedding. 6) Like in the books, Kristi was given to Tobi and the children were brainwashed to forget everything.
What doesn’t make sense: 1) If Kristi married Tobi, why did Tobi start to haunt the other sister instead and not go straight to Kristi? 2) Why did Tobi want the other sisters son when the legend says the son must be borne of the demon and the woman? 3) Why didn’t Tobi just impregnate Kristi when she reached child bearing age?
How it relates to what we know about demons and hauntings: 1) Little to none – there has never been a case of a demon, or ghost killing anyone. 2) The only ghost/demon known to kill someone was in the Bell Witch story where John Bell’s suicide was suggested to have been from the stress of a haunting (inaccurately portrayed in the movie “An American Haunting.” 3) The only other case where harm has come to a human is in the case of Doris Bither who was continually assaulted and raped (as more accurately portrayed in the movie “The Entity”).

1. Kristi did not marry Toby was probably ‘promised’. When are you referring to being “haunted”? Toby is after 1st blood male that is all. (well from what we know)
2. I will have to check this but what legend are you referring to? I never heard it mentioned in any of them that the demon had to sire the child.
3. Again see 2 above. there was never any mention of Toby having to father a ‘boy’ child. If this was a fact why not Julie or heck Grandma herself could give it a try.
Part 3.
1. What? Ive seen a ton of movies etc where demons kill people. Ghost have nothing to do with this since the movie series is not about ‘spirits’.
2 and 3 make no sense.

Aknot, you make some valid points. I thought I heard Dennis mentioning that the demon had to sire the child when he was reading through the book (could have been wrong, after all I was half asleep). You’re totally off, however, on part 3. Although this is a series based on fiction it does have a reality TV spin, and supposedly even using someone experienced in the paranormal as a consultant. Therefore, I find it fair to comment on documented history of what demons have supposedly dont in the past. Yes, demons have killed scores of people in movies but there is no documentation saying anyone died directly from a demonic presence or haunting. You say I should do a little more research because there are a lot of deaths based on demons/possessions. I find this funny because I sited two sources in my comments to back up my claims, while you sited none. If there are so many documented deaths from demons then please do your research and find them for me.
History is chock full of this. If you are asking for proof I would have to ask you who would be the authority on this?
I mean Demons/Witches have been executed throughout time for being such or being possessed of said entities.
Anneliese Michel – Anneliese Michel (September 21, 1952 – July 1, 1976) was a German Catholic woman who was said to be possessed by demons and subsequently underwent a failed exorcism. Two motion pictures, The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Requiem, are loosely based on Michel’s story. She later died of self starvation.
Michael Taylor – The exorcism rite, which lasted until 6 A.M. exhausted the priests, who allowed the man to return home. Nevertheless, they cautioned that although they had cast out forty spirits from Michael Taylor, a few remained, including the demon of murder.
While at home, Michael Taylor, brutally murdered his wife, Christine, and strangled their poodle. He was found by a policeman, naked in the street, covered with blood. At his trial in March, he was found to be guilty and insane.
Mr. Berkowitz also claimed to be directed by a demon to kill.
Amityville (possibly fake?) not to mention people that have been scared to death from ghosts/spirits etc.
This does not count whole groups of people being possessed in any of the religious texts. This also does not include people that claim possession but were just written off as being crazy, well cept for Mr. Berk.
You see the whole context of death by demon would need to be answered with how do you verify it?
You seem to believe this could happen based on your “one incident”. So logic only dictates if it has happened once there is a great chance it has happened before/after.
Its just who is the authority? I can pull tons of stuff where people claim demons/possession etc but who is to say (besides a jury) that it was truth or not?

Why would anyone spend a second of their time reading the theories of a person that said they fell asleep during the movie and woke up when the credits rolled?!

Your theories are worthless. Go back and actually WATCH the film and then maybe you can have a valid opinion about it.
1. CONCEIVING 1ST BORN SON: did anyone else think its weird that the grandma was kind of pressuring her daughter to have another child, specifically a son (obviously to fulfill the pact with the demon toby) but when julie and dennis take the girls to grandmas for the night, the grandma had expected them to sleep in different beds? (even tho they didnt) you would think she’d want them to sleep together in hopes of julie becoming pregnant?!
2 FIRE: How do we know the fire ever happended? we have no proof (as of yet). when dennis and his friend are reading the book about witches/occult/whatever u wanna call it, they say girls of childbearing age are brainwashed, etc. So we assume they were brainwashed to forget what had happened when they were children, why cnt we assume they were brainwashed to BELIEVE a fire took place, even tho it never happend?! I mean, how did the picture of katie as a child reappear if supposedly everything was lost? In #2 kristy stumbles upon it, and Her husband later burns it (well we see him burning the edges) because the nanny had said the only way to rid there family and kristy of the paranormal happenings is to pass it to a relative (i.e katie).. if you notice the happenings in katies house dont happen until after kristies husband burns the pic and IMO i asume dan (kristy husband) places the burnt pic in katies house to kind of finsih the ritual of passing along the demon.. make sense? hopefully!
3.Toby tourments the girls because according to the book dennis read, the demon follows and torments the bloodline until he gets his payment: The 1st born son. I think only katie remembers the shadow at the edge of her bed because she was way more terrified of what was happening then kristy was. I mean yes, kristy was scared but she wud tell katie to just ignore it, and didnt seem nearly as scared of toby as katie was
4. WHY DIDNT THE GRLS GET UPSET/SCARED DENNIS DIED? okay so julie and dennis put the girls to bed and then go to their room and get ready for bed. From the point where the girls are in bed, we dnt know what happens to them. We dnt even realise they are missing from their beds until dennis & julie check on them after hearing all the noises from car doors.. the grandma could have got the girls and brainwashed them or put them in some sort of trance while julie and dennis were in the other room.. right? i mean how else can we explain katie being completely terrifed of toby to walking upstairs willingly with g-ma, kristy and toby after seeing dennis killed and julie knocked out.
5. TRAILERS: why is everyone complaining about the trailers, i personally loved that none of them were in the movie. i hate seeing a movie and not being scared because all of the good parts were played in the trailers every 30mins on tv.. ANNOYING!! and how r u so sure the house burning in the trailer is their house? it could be the grandmas.. it could be from that bonfire in the backyard of g-mas.. we dont know because we dont know what the outside of the house looked like!
6. JULIE: i think julie was knocked out not necessarily killed.. she is mentioned in #1 and #2, so i believe she did in fact go a little crazy from all that had happened.. and thats why katie says “you dont want to end uplike mom”
7. THE MISSING TAPES: I think alot of the unanswered questions could be unanswered because we r in fact watching tapes of what happened.. i mean they captured hrs and hrs of footage, but they couldnt record everything. So we dont know everything. 8. the missing necklace and katie bead hobbie: this may be a BIGGG stretch but many religions use rosary or prayer beads.. including wiccans. they can be used to count the repetitions of prayers, chants or devotions. They may also be used for meditation, protection from negative energy, or for relaxation. maybe subconsiously she gave it to her to protect her in a sense?!
I personally liked #3 the best, it really made me appreciate the story of #1 and #2.. i suggest you watch #3, then go home and watch #2 then #1.. most of the questions every1 keeps repeating will be answered!!

2.The fire: the trailer shows the house burning in sep 17 1988 at 2:49am We know this because it shows the date and time.
3. Kristy wasn’t afraid of Toby because he was her “friend”. Katie on the other hand taunted Kristy about the imaginary friend “Toby”. Toby later attack her. Later in the movie Kristy gets dressed up as a bride for Toby. Makes you want to know more about the deal that was made between Toby and Grandma, If you ask me.
4. Right before Dennis dies, he reaches out for Katie. She turns to him, lets out a scream and if you look closely her face looks like demon. Safe to say she wasn’t in her right mind. Thats why she willing walked upstairs, Grandma already talks to the demons. Kristy on the other had never showed fear, except when Dennis had her in the closet. Remember she agreed to do what Toby asked if he let Katie go.
5. The movie would have been alot better with some… not all, of the scenes left in.
6. Julie was dead, all that falling down the stairs and screaming would have woke her up sooner or later. Mostly likely she was killed off because she didn’t want anymore kids. The Demon couldn’t cash in. Thats why Grandma, was pushing for another kids… a son. Thats why Katie said “you don’t want to end up like mom”.

in the end of pa3 one of the girls is posesed and the other one smiles after the parents are killed and says come on toby. and before that it shows the cov of old ladys in the garage while dennis is looking for everyone and no one could be found. maybe the ladys did a ceromony that the little girl promised toby she would take part in while dennis was looking for them. by the time he sees his daughter there already brainwashed or married or in on the whole thing with toby and the cov. cuz they left with there grandma welcoming toby not caring that there parents were dead.

I believe because this was a welcome addition to the family an Exorcism would prove futile.
I believe Ali stated this in PA2 when they exorcised the demon but only because there was another bloodline available to do so.

i don’t think it is Bloody Mary. I think it was just irritated that they were not taking it seriously. Look at the scene with the sheet ant the babysitter. It took the sheet and basically mocked her, and as i recall she was the first one that made physical contact with. then it was the skinny guy and Katie after the bloody Mary thing. I’d be pissed too lol
I personally think that when Katie was pulled into the little closet room in PA3, she got raped by “Toby” which I also call “pedo bear” and he impregnated her, thus getting her all brain washed, which is why she flips out on Dennis.

THE TAPES-
Maybe Dennis’ buddy from PA3 came in a grabbed the tapes before the fire. He knew something was up in that house! Maybe the tapes are left for the girls without Grandma knowing and thats why the Demon/witches steal them back when the girls find out about them, before they ever have a chance to check them out and be let in on whats really going on in their lives. If Dennis and Julie were missing for 2-3 days,before the fire, the friend could have come in and snatched them up.
His buddy appeared to want nothing to do with that house after his ordeal in the bathroom. I doubt very seriously if he wants to come near that place.

Having been a tad slow Ive just finished watching these movies I am quite confused! At what point does Katie steal Hunter & kill Kristi and her husband! After the first 1 she was sitting in her room for hours rocking back and forth after killing Micah……the phone rings, then someone comes to the door, discovers Micahs body then leaves, obviously phoning the police who turns up, eventually comes across Katie in the bedroom, as she gets up with the knife one of the police officers shoots her? At what point does she kill her sister and brother in law and disappears with baby hunter? The policeman shot her at the top of the stairs? Help? I don’t get it?
What you’re describing is the original independent ending, but the theatrical ending was changed (no doubt to make more PA movies, and it worked).
