Paranormal Activity 2 teaser Easter Egg 3 Paranormal Activity 4 Trailer Previews: Demonic Rewind

There are many questions surrounding Paranormal Activity 4 - and for some people, the most prominent one is, “How are these movies still getting made?

However, for those of us who have been following the exploits of sisters Katie, Kristi, and the demonic force that has haunted them since childhood (as last explored in the prequel-sequel, Paranormal Activity 3), there are plenty of plot points and explanations that we still need to be unraveled. Today’s Paranormal Activity 4 teaser tailer previews manage to answer…pretty much none of it.

The whole ‘trailer for a trailer’ trend is obviously still in full swing, and – aside from a quick shot of a mysterious blonde woman at the end – this Paranormal Activity 4 trailer preview is one of the worst offenders, as it basically shows us climatic moments from the first two films (in reverse) without actually previewing much of the new trailer… That is, unless the new trailer itself is simply a recap of footage from the other films.

At this point, I think I speak for a fair number of PA franchise followers when I say: we want some answers. The ending of Paranormal Activity 3 - a film which promised to fill us in on backstory – left us more confused than ever. We still don’t know what happened in the period between Katie and Kristi’s demonic possession in childhood and their seemingly normal adult lives viewed at the starts of PA 1&2; not to mention, we’re no closer to finding out what, exactly, demon-Katie plans to do with her kidnapped nephew, Hunter, last seen during the final moments of PA2.

With PA3 directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman returning for the fourth installment, there needs to be some quick establishment of what this film will cover in terms of subject matter (the girls’ adolescent years or the present, after the events of PA2) and whether this chapter will be tying up all loose ends, or simply stringing us along for another ninety minutes.

Right now, the only thing this trailer preview does is (possibly) make one anxious to check back on August 1, 2012 to see what the actual teaser trailer is all about. Mission accomplished?

So: Check back on Wed, August 1st for the full Paranormal Activity 4 teaser trailer.

  1. i´ve watched the first and second part, but is the third part watchable?

    • Meh…the third had some scary parts. Personally, I love ghost stories and movies done well (i thought the first one was done very well), but I hate it when they take it too far and give it some cheesy origin story. I loved the first PA, I liked the second, but I thought they could have done without the third. Some things are scarier when not explained.

For example…the Saw franchise. I thought the first one was great and the ending blew my mind. It was creepier when I didn’t know who the guy was or why he was doing it.

    • yes it’s still a very good movie. i don’t really like them as sequals per se but they are pretty good movies and you do find out alot. you have to listen to what ppl are saying though. and there is a lot of subtext in the movie in their words.

    • the third part is the best one.

  2. Where is the trailer for the teaser of the trailer?

  3. Pass. I’m not going to sit through 1hr 20mins of mundane recorded activities just to see 10mins of something out of the ordinary. And now that I know what to expect, those few thrills are old hat and boringly predictable.

  4. I watched the trailer for a trailer…… instead of reading about Rush Hour 4. I feel so ashamed. -.-

  5. I enjoyed PA2 more than I did one. The story, characters, and the ending trumps 1 IMO. 3 should have been deleted.

  6. i thought it was the same thing from PA1 too but then i watched it again. in the middle is a part of katie holding a little boys hand backward into the house but i believe the little boy is hunter. Also i am wondering what happened to the daughter after she got back from the school trip and found her parents murdered from PA2

  7. actually if you pay attention in the third one you would know what demon katie wants with hunter. Katie and kristis grandma was in a coven that made a deal with a demon. The demon would follow the family around and wait for the first born son. It would then use that as it’s vessel to enter this world physically. In exchange for the first born son th grandma and whoever made the deal get power.

    • wrong! If u go back to paranormal 2, u would find out that the grandmother made a deal with the demon, yes thats true. but the deal was wealth in exchange for the family’s first male born child. that was it. in PA2, it says nothing about the demon wanting the male child in order to become a physical being. I even watched part 2 again before uploading this to make sure.

  8. I liked the original though I did not find it as scary as people told me it was. PA 2 was just PA with a bigger budget but nothing much else. PA 3, surprisingly enough, had my full attention and caused me to jump quite a few times. My only question is Will this be another prequel or an actual sequel because going backwards is getting old. Plus Katie and Kristi are not that interesting to begin with.

  9. This teaser trailer also reveals Katie leaving her sister’s house with Hunter. Where is she taking him?! That and the mysterious blonde woman at the end make me super excited to see the full trailer .. And even more so, the movie!

  10. i actually thought the 3rd was the best one .. i really didnt like the first and i thought they tried to make the second one funny with the mexican nanny .. the third one gave me the creeps in the end ..

  11. PA 4 is the best out of PA 1,2,3 x

  12. I really hope that with the way each chapter in the PA franchise takes in less and less cash that they make PA 5 the series swan song. PA4 was sorely lacking in the suspense department as that each of Toby’s “tricks” were all done in the previous chapters. Creepy noises: X. Mysterious Doors Opening: X. Big Crash/ Jump Scare: X. Disbelieving Loved Ones: X. Levitating Girl: X. Big Reveal/ Katie In Full Demon-mode/ Alpha Male’s Death: X. Sudden Drop of the Camera Signalling the Ultimate Death of Protagonist: X. This series is running out its welcome.
