‘Paranormal Activity 3′ SCREAM Awards Clip: Bathroom Games Gone Wrong

Kids, if you play too many games in the bathroom you could wind up scaring the you-know-what out of yourself. That’s pretty much the lesson to be learned from this new footage from Paranormal Activity 3, which was shown at last night’s Spike TV SCREAM Awards.

Check out the clip to see what happens when you try to conjure up Bloody Mary while on the John.

The story for this third installment of the popular Paranormal Activity franchise flashes back to the 1980s, when sisters Kristi and Katie (the women featured in the first two movies) were still just young girls. We’ll discover the horrific supernatural events that led to the girls’ house burning to the ground and their memories of the event being wiped away – that is, until a terrifying demonic presence would eventually come calling at their doors years later. This new installment is being helmed by Henry Joost and Ariel Shulman, the duo behind the documentary/mystery, Catfish.

If you’ve seen the Paranormal Activity 3 trailer, you know that this film won’t be skimping on the jump scares and creepy moments fans of the franchise have come to expect – but does this scene below get your pulse racing, or is it a bit too reminiscent of what we’ve already seen from this series?

I, for one, have always enjoyed these films for the simple but effective premise that something demonic can get you – even in the safe confines of your home. That said, seeing this scene makes me feel like I’m watching PA1 and/or PA2 again, only this time with more children and a retro camcorder. Is that a bad thing? No. Is it an exciting thing? No. Hopefully, the rest of the film has a few more original and imaginative scares to offer to make it feel fresh. To that end, early reviews have indeed pegged this as a worthwhile Halloween movie outing.

Paranormal Activity 3 will be in theaters on October 18, 2011.

Well I know one thing… I just saw paranormal activity 3… The clips you see on tv, Are Not in the movie at all… The bloody Mary clip of the girls in the bathroom… Never seen, the mother being thrown back on the bed, never seen, the girl jumping off her staircase, not seen! All in all it’s a good ‘jump’ movie for some, I was looking forward to seeing some if those clips… I guess I’ll just have to record the commercials on tv to enjoy them though!

We totally agree, I am writing very long email to paramount, felt so cheated as NONE of the clips wer in the film. The trailer was the only reason my partner wanted to watch the film. EVERYONE in the cinema said ‘that was s**t’ as it finished. Really DISAPPOINTED!!!!
