Scott Eastwood (Suicide Squad) is ready to join in the jaeger revolution with a new poster from Pacific Rim UprisingIt is part of a batch of posters released today promoting the film. Earlier, John Boyega shared a poster featuring his character Jake Pentecost, son of Idris Elba's character from the original, in front of a jaeger. The hype surrounding the sequel to Guillermo del Torro's cult film has grown recently with the announcement that the first trailer will be released during a panel for the film at New York Comic Con.

Few details are known about the plot of Pacific Rim Uprising. Besides featuring Boyega and Eastwood, the film also stars Jing Tian, Adria Arjona, and Levi Meaden with Charlie Day and Burn Gorman returning to reprise their roles from the original films as kaiju scientists (and superfans) Dr. Newton Geiszler and Hermann Gottlieb, respectively. The film is directed by Steven DeKnight (Daredevil), who is also writing the script alongside Emily Carmichael, Kira Snyder (The Handmaid's Tale), and T.S. Nowlin (Maze Runner: The Death Cure).

Flickering Myth has shared the new poster featuring Eastwood's character. Like Boyega, he stands in front of a jaeger suit, helmet in hand. Like most of the other cast members, little is known about Eastwood's character, Nate Lambert, other than the fact that he is a jaeger pilot. Are he and Boyega's Pentecost drift compatible co-pilots? Or is he more of a competitive foe like Chuck Hansen (Rob Kazinsky) was for Raleigh (Charlie Hunnam) in the original film?

Another, more general movie poster was released as well. It features the film's slogan, "Rise Up," alongside a jaeger arm making a fist. In the foreground is what looks like Boyega's silhouette in black contrasting the golden hand. It's a striking image that looks like a call to arms - like much like the rest of the marketing material for the film so far. The official website for Pacific Rim Uprising even has a place for fans to "Join the Jaeger Uprising" themselves. The film already looks like it is promising even bigger and more epic mecha vs. kaiju fights than before.

Hopefully next up will be posters of the rest of the cast - including the female members of Pacific Rim Uprising. Rinko Kikuchi's Mako Mori was the stand out of the first film and a fan favorite with her strong, yet emotional performance. The actress is rumored to return in the sequel as well, although her involvement has not been officially confirmed. She would be another welcome addition to the cast which features fresh faces alongside more well known actors such as Boyega and Eastwood.
