[WARNING: This post will contain spoilers for Orphan Black.]
Season 2 of BBC America’s Orphan Black ended with Sarah Manning discovering the existence of a separate brotherhood of clones (all played by Ari Millen). However, what separates the brother clones and the sister clones (all played by Tatiana Maslany) is that the brothers have all known about each other their whole lives, and the sisters only recently became aware of each other. And while the sisters have often bickered and been disorganized, the brother clones have spent their whole lives together being turned into a kind of military force – which should make them formidable foes for our lead lady clones.
The upcoming third season of the show is looking to depict some kind of war between the two factions of clones. With the sisters fractured and already dealing with the surprise of the brothers’ existence, as well as a full-on attack from them, it appears as though Sarah, Cosima, Allison, and Helena are about to face their most dangerous threat yet.
A lot of the promotional trailers and images for the third season so far have featured a lot of the same scenes that audiences have already been shown. However, a new trailer (above) is jam-packed with tons of new footage from the upcoming season. The footage provides teases of face-offs between several of the brother and sister clones and some new insight into the kind of organization the brothers have with each other.
Audiences will notice Sarah trying to escape some kind of jail cell at one point in the trailer as well as fighting what looks like several of the brother clones on her own. While there are a lot of quick shots and the trailer itself is less than a minute long, the signs continue to point toward this season being a very much a game of cat-and-mouse. The only thing left to wonder is who will end up being the cat, and who will be the mouse?
Fans are most likely hoping this season 3 will give the show a chance to experience higher ratings (especially since it will also be premiering across all AMC outlets and not just BBC America). For a show that has managed to become one of the most interesting additions to the sci-fi genre of recent memory, Orphan Black certainly deserves it.
Orphan Black season 3 is set to premiere April 18th, 2015 @9pm on BBC America.
