As usual – talk about whatever you like as long as it’s related to movies, TV or Screen Rant itself – just remember to play nice. icon smile Open Discussion September 9, 2013

  1. Anyone else notice the retitling and re-bannering of formal articles? It’s kind of annoying is this purely to drive to run up the hits to the website- or to annoyreaders?

    • Mark,

Yup, you caught us. One of our mission goals here at Screen Rant is to annoy readers.

      • rofl…

      • Some of your writers’ DC fanboy approach like so many tween girls toward One Direction is quite the strategy for succeeding at your mission.

        • Run on sentences are terrible.

          • And witty responses are non-existent.

            • You are absolutely correct.

              • The sentiment is appreciated but approval isn’t a necessity for me to confidently point out your of your lack of wit.

                • Neither is it a necessity for me to point out your lack of grammar. But I’ll do it anyways.

                  Thanks for playing.

                  • I didn’t realize you were the resident grammar/spelling police. One tends to veer down that road when he/she has no other captivating comments or arguments to contribute. Congratulations on being the lining of the d0uche n0zzle, not the most appealing job, but some waste of space has to foot the bill.

                    • Calling people foul names is an acknowledgement
by you that you lost the argument, which was
painfully clear to any objective observer.

                    • “no other captivating comments or arguments to contribute.”

                      – Just like your comment to Vic? Man, since you’re so smart, maybe you should take your own advice?

                    • Well said Robert Rocco Palmar.

I wasn’t going to weigh in on this argument since cheerio had pretty much covered my opinion, but this OD needs some more comments. So….not only was it a terrible run-on sentence, the simile didn’t even make sense.

It should read something like: “Some of your fanboy writers approach to DC is like tween girls toward One Direction”

Honestly, I’m not really sure what the point the writer is trying to convey with this statement. I know that a lot of “What if” articles happen about DC characters, but that is only because the WB is not being clear on their strategy moving into the future. Whereas, the MCU is established, and we know the slate of films to be released in the next few years along with potential franchises in the future. So, it may seem like bias towards DC, but in all actuality, it’s just speculation versus actual reporting.

Lastly, I know that Vic’s response to the original comment was hilarious.

                    • Thanks to you both!

  2. !! SHAZAM !!

  3. Just finished Battlestar Galactica (the newer one) last night, including the video “The Plan”. thought the series had a great finale. Overall i liked the series, i thought the middles of season 3 and 4 were a little bland, but they were really good around the first and last couple of episodes for each season.

Also finally got caught up on Defiance, I think it finally started getting a little better by the last couple episodes. though i have absolutely know idea what was happening during that last episode. I felt like i missed an episode that explained more of the mythology pertaining to that ship or whatever and Nolan’s daughter. I was like, “Ok, what did i just watch? oh look, the earth replublic”. END. haha. Ill probably check out the first couple episodes of next season to see if they explain anything and to see if it gets better.

    • Oh, also i plan on checking out Caprica next and then Blood and Chrome and then maybe check out the original Battlestar Galactica series.

    • I didn’t really like the ending of BSG, felt like the Ship of Light all over again.

Defiance was decent, the mythology was interspersed throughout the episodes and makes more sense when you watch them closer together. Did not like the ending of that one either.

Could not really get into Caprica but I like Blood and Chrome.

    • Cant really take you seriously when you mean no and type know

      • Json,

People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

        1. Your sentence is a fragment (incomplete sentence), lacking a subject (I).
        2. C-a-n-’-t
        3. There’s no period at the end of your comment.

I prefer to look at the point someone is making in a post rather than how they’re saying it. Can’t we all just get along?

      • srry me no properly educated, cant speak good, its a wonder onyboody can understood me always.

        • That reply was meant for Json

  4. Happy Monday everybody!

    • Happy Monday to you too, Antonio. Hope this week is prosperous for you and yours!

  5. This video isn’t helping me too much at job interviews:

  6. Happy Monday Tony!

  7. Read waiting for any new dvds/blu rays?

  8. Sorry, little tired here,lol

  9. Tell me what is your favorite batman story.

    • @ Cody

Me? That’s a though one as there are many, lol. I guess one that comes to mind is A Death In The Family which is one of my most favorites. What’s yours?

  10. Idk if anyone saw but Jim Carrey announced dumb and dumber 2 *or 3 if you count that b******* dumb and dumberer*
    https://twitter.com/jimcarrey/status/376817430104121344

    • Yes, and I’m looking forward to it. The original film was one of the best comedies ever, in my opinion. It will be interesting to revisit them, now 20 years later.

  11. I thought Dumb & Dumber was one of those comedies that didn’t need a sequel or prequel. It was just that good imo. I thought the same way about The Hangover. Didn’t care for the 2nd film & haven’t seen the 3rd film yet but I wouldn’t be surprise if I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first film.

  12. Paul Verhoeven is Dutch, not German. ;)

Dinobots sound like a stupid idea for a live action movie. I didn’t like them in the cartoon either.

Love Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick. Really looking forward to Riddick. But I absolutely hate that IMAX format change BS. I’m still pissed off that they did that on Blu-ray with The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises & Tron Legacy. It’s a terrible idea and distracting as hell. At the very least they should provide a “no format changes” option via seemless branching.

Can’t get enough of Kofi’s Marky Mark. Some day you should stay in character for a whole episode of the podcast. :D

    • Oops, this was meant for the podcast.

      • Looks like the OD can use the attention anyways.

        • #Batfleck.

          Does that still work? :)

          • Haha, right?!

  13. Anyone think Tyrese will die in 4th season of Walking dead?

    • Since the show doesn’t follow the comics exactly, it’s anybody’s guess.

I would think “yes”… any character that is not Rick.

  14. People dont seem to be very happy today.

    Mondays…

  15. Whoa. It’s a ghost town in here. Is everybody out watching the Monday episode of Quick Draw on Hulu Plus?

Have I mentioned how much I like that show?

    • Ironic, that “Professor Procrastination” would like “Quick Draw”…

    • No, not at all! And your favorite film is probably some silly Bill Murray flick…;)

      • How’d did you know?

Ok, Scranters…Top 10 films staring Bill Murray.

        10) Meatballs
        9) What About Bob?
        8) Ghostbusters 2
        7) The Man Who Knew Too Little
        6) Stripes
        5) Scrooged
        4) Caddyshack
        3) Groundhog Day
        2) Kingpin
        1) Ghostbusters

        Best cameo: Zombieland
        Honorable mention: Osmosis Jones

        • Stripes for me… “razzle dazzle”.

        • Don’t know about anybody else but Groundhog Day, for a comedy, has a real tear jerking scene, the scene involving the old homeless guy, they get me every time. And it’s all down to Murray’s performance in those scene’s, so sad. Great job by him.

  16. I only have 3 movies of Bill Murray’s I really liked.

    3. What About Bob?
    2. Caddyshack
    1. Ghostbusters ” When you’re asked if you’re a god, you say Yes!”

    • well, at least you got #1 right :)
