It’s Wednesday again, time for our regularly scheduled open discussion post.
As usual – talk about whatever you like as long as it’s related to movies, TV or Screen Rant itself – just remember to play nice.
Around the web:

I dig the subtle change in the header Vic,,,
At least it looks different on my Blackberry, I’m not sure what’s going on right now,,,,
is it me or are hollywood writers/director/producers getting real desperate for money ? wonder why they’re so “desperate” to make reboots/remakes of old movies. or for the need to rush productions.
i enjoy old classic action movies like commando or demolitionman way more despite the fact that they had some flaws in them (cheesy one liners, stunt mistakes etc)
i just hope they learn from their mistakes and do things properly- put time and effort in script and the rest of the shabang hehehe
I just learned that Married… with Children season 11 is coming out on dvd in oct. EXCELLENT!!! now I’ll own the entire series! 1 to 11. Revisiting this show made me realize its value, very funny and compared to todays sit-coms, its freakin’ gold!
All these actors are still muttering around Hollywood, wouldn’t it be cool if they made a feature length film. Or maybe not. Any thoughts? favorite episodes?
Poppy’s by the tree is a classic.
@jwalka
Keep on dreamin’
Looking forward to the new TV season:
24
Flash Forward
and a few others.
Been watching some old Chuck Norris movies recently on Netflix.
Good times.
@790
Sharp eye and thanks for noticing. And the home page header has changed more than the interior pages. Changes at the bottom of the page as well.
Vic
Married…with Children was a great show. The first 5-6 seasons were phenomenal, and then like most shows, they started the slow, downward spiral. I still think “AL!” whenever I see Ed O’Neill. Katey Segal will always be Peggy.
I FINALLY jumped into the Blu-Ray pool. Best Buy had a great deal on Panasonic Blu-Ray player this week ($199!) and the unit was highly rated by C-Net. I haven’t had a chance to watch a Blu-Ray film yet, but I have The Dark Knight ready to go and Watchmen on the way from Netflix. Next up will be a new reciever.
@Vic…
I miss having the latest comments on the bottom of each page. Any way of getting those back or adding them to the side of the page?
@Andy S
Yeah, I was wondering about the latest comments as well.
Finished watching the first season of Eureka. Didn’t know Matt Frewer was a regular on the show, and got with Jo. Also started watching Supernatural (saw eps. 1 and 2); this show is creepy! I shouldn’t have watched it before going to bed; had to watch a comedy after seeing Wendigo.
)
If Warner Bros ever did a movie based on the comic book “The Flash” it would have to be a action comedy to work.
For the next Superman movie I would like to see Brainiac as the main villian. For a sequel throw in Darkseid.
happy birthday to me… happy birthday to me…
turned 25, feel like 85!
geez i’m not sure dollhouse will survive the second season cos it’s up against medium… I think Fox is just actively trying to kill it now!
Guys, I’ll look into getting the latest comments back.
Vic
Hey guys,
Has anyone else been disappointed in the Green Lantern animated movie(…and everything else WB animation has put out) as I was? Thank goodness it’s on You Tube for free…
For me anyway, too many stupid aliens,running around shooting (Sinestro was kinda cool with his Machiavellian behind-the-scenes plotting, ect.).
I don’t know, I’m 55, different generation…
Would have like to have seen a great Neil Adams Earth-bound version instead of a third rate StarWars.
Maybe they’re right, maybe these films ARE made for 13 year old boys…
A while back Marvel announced that they are focusing on the Avengers movies (Capt. America, Thor, Iron Man 2,etc.) and they can’t manage more than two or three films a year in both pre/post/production.
Now that Disney has Stan Lee cleaning Goofy’s pool. Will the mouse use it’s infinite funds to beef up the films in planning/production? I would think so… and I hope it means that The Black Panther film will be fast tracked. Cross my fingers, hope to die, stick T’Challa’s clawed finger in my eye.
Not sure if anyone heard about this but I thought I would mention it. Warner Bros to restructure DC comics in the very near future and movement on films will come instantly. Marvel taking a step back with Disney and DC stepping up it looks like????
Did anyone hear about WB creating DC Entertainment, Inc?
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=58956
Marvel’s not taking a step back with Disney. If anything it’s going ramp things up a little more,(more films, more everything) and with this new thing DC just announced, it looks like they’re ramping up as well.
Within a few years we’ll be seeing a ton of films per year based on both comic companies characters.(Over saturation maybe? We’ll see)
Question is, will DC start the shared universe style that Marvel Studios is going for?
Seems like we have a wild west going on. Anybody think entertainment company stocks might still be a good buy or have we waited too long? Sure missed some of the Disney/Marvel benefit…
If all these studios are ramping up I wonder if that could mean release ramp up as well? Studios might certainly finish more projects faster, but that doesn’t mean they wont hold the films and stage release to conform to an overall plan. When’s the next major contract negotiation 2012 or 13?
while i’m in SF mode on the other threads, has anyone heard if any of John Ringo or David Weber’s works are being adapted for the big or little screen as of yet?
Hey gang, FYI I’ve added latest comments to the sidebar between Latest Headlines and the Poll.
Also, click on over to the home page and let me know what you think – I’ve made some changes!
Vic
Hey Vic, You know that’s not a bad place for latest comments and the bottom real estate has some other advantages I’m sure your aware of, keep up the excellent work.
The new Cup O’ Joe over at CBR is up and is all about his meeting with the Disney people.
This will be Quesada’s exclusive, one and only interview on the matter for the next several months, until the SEC formalities are concluded and the Marvel-Disney deal is done.
Just watched the trailer for Law Abiding Citizen again. Damn that looks like it’ll be bad ass. Hope it doesn’t turn out like Gamer…
“Latest Headlines” dodges another bullet,,, wheeew,,,
This is like the 3rd time,,,
What were we talking about?
Oh yeah!
So where DID the rear tire on the BatPod come from in Batman Begins? It sure wasn’t one of the rear tires on the Batmobile!
Just askin’
Hey Vic that’s a nice little change on the site! Keep the good work!!
im upset we didnt get any news on Carriers what so ever. virus-horror movie looked like 28 days later. tralier was good and stars chris pine
JessSayin
They were the two FRONT tires. One of them was the front tire, the other swiveled back and became the back tire of the batpod…
Just wondering why my favorite show isn’t in the list of TV SHOWS??? – Leverage -
Leverage “scored TNT’s Best Ever Adults 18-49 Delivery for an Original Series telecast during Broadcast Season.”
This is one of the best shows I’ve watched in a long time with a great concept, acting and scripts… why the snub?
