  1. awww yeaaa new open thread……

  2. Hilary Duff might play Spidey’s love interest in the reboot. Google it.

    • Well, as long as it isn’t Milley Cyrus.

      • Dianna Argon should play Spidey’s love interest. Especially if its Gwen Stacy.

        • I’m surprised it’s not Justine Bieber…. :P

  3. i..cant bring myself to care LOL

  4. Curse you americans and your Labor day holiday… I want my True Blood season finale :p

    • What? I thought that was May 1st?
Or is it only godless commies that have their Labour day in the spring?

      • Memorial Day was on May 31 (usually the last Monday in May) to remember the men and women who died giving military service to the country. Labor Day was September 6 (first Monday of September) to recognize labor’s contributions to the economy… Ok, really it’s to celebrate the end of summer and as a last chance to go boat on a lake.

        • Well, we don’t have Memorial Day, but I still had 4 days off in May this year; International Labour Day, Ascension, Constitution Day and Pentecost Monday.
Next one off wont be before Dec 24th tho :(

  5. Aquaman to return to Smallville during the November sweeps, in the episode before Michael Shanks returns as Hawkman, episodes 9-10.

    I’m thinking JLA/JSA crossover!!!

Apparently it’s getting an extended finale too! Probably done as a 2 hour tv movie like Absolute Justice last year.

    Very exited!

    • im gonna watch Smallville closely this last season i think. but am more excited about Chuck and Supernatural :) :)

      • I’m just not that excited about supernatural anymore, I’ll still watch it, but I kinda thought it should have ended last year.

        • youre right it should have with Kripkes departure. he told the story he set out to tell. but at least with Sera Gamble, who has been there from the begining being the head honch now, as well as Singer still being on board, i gotta have faith

        • It was my understanding that “Supernatural” was to be a five-season show…Why are they doing a sixth (don’t get me wrong–great show, but still…)?

          • The studio would say they are continuing it for the fans; I say, they are continuing it for the moolah.

            • LOL kahless, its always about the mighty dollar

              • I think it’s even more simple than just money, it’s the same reason they kept renewing Smallville, despite both shows having unjustified lacklustre ratings, The CW simply doesnt have anything to replace these shows with.

                • youre right sam, the TV market is already overly flooded with tween, dumb HS dramas and bad “reality” anyway i just hope that Gamble can pull off a great Supernatural season

                  • Obviously, I want it to be a good season, but I’ll wait till the premiere. Which has Mitch Pillegi (grandpa Winchester) in, which is interesting!

                    • that guy is AWESOMEEEEEEEEE he doesnt get enough work in my opinion :(

      • I’m REALLY stoked for Smallville. I can’t wait for the season to start up…and the new season of Chuck!!

  6. when does smallville start this month?

    • 24th

  7. Just got done watchig “frailty” i always forget how much I dig that movie.

    • It was a great movie. Surprised it wasn’t a bigger hit.

  8. Wow spiderman looks worse and worse all. The time.

Yea Anthony Chuck and Supernatural are what I want the most. Also lookingforward to house and Dex.

Can’t believe I have to wait a year for breaking bad

    • House i can take in doses. Dex, i might have to give another try though.

  9. They are doing a sixth because it’s a very very popular show and they want more money.

Also while some are willing to accept it ending some are not. I for one can’t let go I want and need more. I think it would be a crying Shame for it to end at only five. It’s such a great show and deserves more. I was very mad at Kripke foronly planning on 5 years.

In my opinion the 6th season is very promising and appears to bring the characters full circle. The brothers back on the road with a role reversal will be great and it seems this season will be very character driven. I’m very much looking forward to it.

  10. Here’s a character list of characters and actors for the characters for the Green Lantern movie series I thought would be pretty good:

    Kilowog: Michael Chiklis/Bruce Willis/Keith David
    Guy Gardener: Bradley Cooper
    Kyle Rayner: Shia Laboufe
    John Stewart: Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje/Mahershalalhashbaz Ali
    Ganthet: Leonard Nimoy
    Sayd: Judie Dench
Other Guardians: Patrick Stewart/Keith David/Robin Atken Downes
    Atrocitus: Jess Harnell
    Larfleez: Shartlo Copley
    Saint Walker: Edward Norton
    Anti-Monitor: Frank Welker
    Indigo-1: CCH Pounder
    Cowgirl: Eva Green

That ensemble group would make the series for me. Unless somebody has any other ideas

    • And I guess nobody’s got a say?

      • I do like Nimoy for Ganthet, thats cool.

      • Samuel L. Jackson for Jon Stewart. J/K. :P

I don’t know GL enough to comment on the other choices, though. :(

  11. hey daniel, for me, they need to bring back McGee’s hot sister and hook her up with Tony, now that’d make for a good arc lol, one thing you rarely see is Tim losing his cool, plus its just fun to watch Tony push his buttons LOL

    • Or just replace McGee with his hot sister. :)

  12. Just wanted to beg SR not to run the story about Martin Freeman playing Bilbo in The Hobbit because of his comitment to series 2 of Sherlock, this story came from the Daily Mail, the worst newspaper in the UK. Well known for making stuff up.

    • the hopes for The Hobbit are lost to me anyway sam :) , no biggie

    • DrSam,

Actually it seemed that EW confirmed via its own sources.

      Vic

      • Well, I’d take it with a huge pinch of salt Vic, considering where the story originated, and there is no way they are casting a movie that has no director, no budget, and no studio to make it.

  13. In that case why don’t we run a counter post story about Morgan Freeman possibly playing Bilbo and get everyone all stirred up and dead set against further proceedings under such conditions… Just for the fun of it…

  14. Anthony it’s fun to watch Tony do anything.

    • i just enjoy watching him torture Tim a lot though lol. im waiting for them to take a break on solving murders and having Tim write about LJ Tibbs and Co. and actually incorperate it into the show, that’d be totally funny. one of the funnest epidoes i have seen was the doppleganger episode with that detective and his crew mirroring Jethros, classic

  15. Drsam they may have bad rating for other networks but for WB supernatural gets very high ratings. It’s one of if not their highest rated show.

  16. I think there should be an article about sad movies, which is the saddest?!?

    • this isnt EMOrant for christs sake lol

  17. Well rickster, if we said saddest excuse for a movie i’d have to say waterworld, heavens gate or ishtar. You might be to young to know thoses though!

  18. season ender for Psyche was AWESOME..

  19. oh wow good times, Terriers was filmed in my old stomping grounds Ocean Beach

  20. Just finished macruber. Laughed a lot for sure. Could have been worse.

    • That was my assessment also, I laughed just enough for it to have not been a waste of my time, unlike Cop Out which I watched yesterday, and didnt laugh even once. Bruce Willis and Kevin Smith should be ashamed of themselves.

      • Ugh, i forgot that movie came out. Seemed like if might be worth a few laughs. Would you say catch it on late night cable type movie or just turn off the tv?

        • I would genuinely say turn off the tv, I’ve been off work sick for a few days, so I thought a Kevin Smith marathon would cheer me up. Watched Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Jay And Silent Bob. Kept me in good spirits.
I put on Cop Out, and suddenly felt considerably more ill than I had the day before.

In all, seriousness, it was appaling, not laughs at all.

          • i likd Cop Out, i didnt like seeing Smith bending to the will of the studio by renaming it.

  21. Yeah, it could have been worse.
I could have paid to see it in a theatre.

    • Exactly. I got a copy for free so it made it so much more enjoyable. Though i really wanted it to go more of the loaded weapon 1 stylee.

  22. Ok if not saddest then funniest! :D

    • That could take a while to think up rickster. But of the top of my head: cheech and chong up in smoke, old school, space balls, half baked, old school, twin town and of course the greatest comedy ever…duhn duhn duh: the big lebowski!

      • Haha, Twin Town was ace.
Too bad I have a version that isn’t subbed, cuz there’s parts were the accent is so thick you can’t tell if they speak English or Welsh and you can’t understand any of it.

        • Totally! I have an out of print vhs original cause i can’t find a dvd in the states and there is one scene that i still have know idea what the heck they’re saying. Its that scene where they’re shooting darts talking about german tanks? Idk. Still one of my top 20 movies ever.

    • Spaceballs is probably my fave, along with Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein. Non-Mel Brooks, I’d have to say Austin Powers, American Pie, Van Wilder, Happy Gilmore, Police Academy, The Princess Bride and Shrek. To name a few of my favorites. :D

  23. I also consider show girls to be one of the greatest comedys ever lol!

  24. Funniest=dumb and dumber

    • I can’t believe I forgot that one AND Me, Myself and Irene!!!

  25. I laughed at Loaded Weapon .
I thought it was pretty funny.
I was suprisded there was no sequel.

    • I wanna watch it now.

  26. Who likes naked gun?!?

  27. I haven’t seen a naked gun movie in a long time. But rickster, i’m giving you a homework assignment. Watch the big lebowski!

    • “Clearly you’re not a golfer.”

      • Is this your homework larry?

      • “Nice marmot.”

  28. The Replacements was a pretty funny movie. Not sure if Keanu wanted it to be as funny as it way, but I enjoyed that movie ALOT.
