  1. I think i mentioned this before… not sure either way I was watching ” the naked gun trilogy” Not too long ago Don’t know why, i guess i just wanted to see it. Whilst i was watching my wacky mind got its motors running and started thinking of another movie i would like to see in this sort of slap stick form only a lil bit more focused on the actual story though. It would be a video game adaptation as well, All the way from the NES ( nintendo)… ” Mike Tyson’s Punch Out”. It could actually have Tyson in it since he is clearly open for comedies ( the hangover) and someone who could get in shape and have the comedic chops for it to go against him and all the other characters in said game. Maybe even have a “R” rating and findout the backstory to the coaches pink sweatsuit ( maybe stole it from his favorite stripper). Maybe it was just what i was feeling while i was watching the naked gun but still it got me curious to see a movie like that. As a lil extra tidbit when the final match comes that tyson is being presented as the champion… A kanye look-alike grabs the mic and says ” before you finish i just wanted to say that ali was the greatest cham-” Tyson knocks him out before he finishes…lol.

  2. Also… maybe its just me but i’d love to see a “Married with Children” Movie. Yes they’re all older but it could get worked into the script somehow and it would probably be awesome as well. Maybe even something that has to do with Polk high and Al’s trophy at risk (kinda like that one episode where it got stolen) or a bundy vacation.

  3. @Vic

    Have you seen Zombieland yet… ?

  4. How do I try to get a part as an extra for the Red Dawn movie? lol

    I want to be an extra for Dexter too since it is filmed in South Florida where I live…

    How do you go about doing that? Do they normally advertise and I just have to try to catch one of these ads or what??

  5. @Ken

    Get an agent. :p

    Otherwise, they maybe have open casting calls for extras for that kind of thing. Perhaps an internet search or something.

    @everyone else

    Saw ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs’ yesterday, which was surprisingly good, solid voice acting, decent humour (that, yes, adults can enjoy, but isn’t inappropriate for kids) and a pretty good story. Not Pixar quality, but then it never aspired to be that and totally delivered on what it was trying to do, whcih was make a good funny kids movie.

    Also not, strictly speaking, film related, but has anyone else had a chance to play Batman: Arkham Asylum? I just bought it for the PC and it’s amazing, finally a game where you get to do pretty much everything Batman does. The combat is excellent, but there’s also amazing stealth gameplay as well. And it doesn’t stop at gameplay, the whole thing is beautiful, giving Arkham a real atmousphere, the voice acting (Conroy and Hamill back again) is superb where it counts and the story is pretty decent for a video game. Well worth the money, really enjoyable.

  6. gotta have a shout out to those still deciding what to do on Monday when the NFL game blows. Check out Castle. Nice plots, while they get the bad guy at the end, it’s not always what you expect from a crime drama. Treats the cops as human, embraces the dark humor within. The chemistry between the main players is good. Heavily reccomended.

    also a plus is the Ken Burns dcumentary on the Park Service. Yes it’s done in his traditional style, but it still holds a fascinating examining glass on how we grew as a nation to do something for all of the citizens of this country and is a shining example of what makes the USA so incredibly wonderful. Stop me beefore I run out of exemplary adjctive descriptors…..

  7. Ken “Dexter” is filmed in LA. With some ext scenes shot in Florida.

    The majority of location shots are filmed in Long Beach…

  8. @Ken J

    You should be able to find an extras casting agency or similar in your area. One of which might be legitimate…

    @Joshi
    Just completed B:AA last night (not 100% collected or completed the challenges, just finished the storyline) and it’s one of the best SP games I’ve ever played hands-down. I’m hoping if they decide to go with a movie-game tie-in for Batman in the future then they give Rocksteady the gig. A few more gadgets and upgrades would’ve been nice if I had to make any negative comment but that’s just nit-picking.

  9. @ Ken J

    Im still working on that dove count for you in Red CLiffs. haven’t had a real good chance to sit down and watch it without something coming up. I did however find a copy of Ip that you mention frequently and should be watching it after work today.

  10. @Jordi

    I’m only a tiny way through it at the moment, I hear it’s a damn long game (which I’m all in favour for for such a good game).

    B:AA has apparently broken the record for best rated comic-book game ever (getting an overall 9.2), which I’d suggest is well deserved. And yes, should they do a future movie tie-in, they should totally have Rocksteady doing it, they seem to know what they’re doing. I’d love to see their take on the Nolan-verse.

  11. @Joshi
    If you played linearly then it would be a long game, backtacking to collect the secrets for more upgrade points whenever you get a new tool on the utility-belt makes it a damn long game :)

    @SIN187UM
    Is that Ip Man (Donnie Yen)? Because if so the choreography is absolutely… awesome. One of his best (if not THE best).

  12. I didn’t play Batman: AA for the PC but I did for the xbox and it’s the best batman game ever made. go get it if you have the chance.

  13. @jago

    Saw Zombieland last night – crazy/funny/gory movie. Liked it quite a bit.

    @Ken J

    Head to Michigan ASAP, where they’re shooting Red Dawn. :-P

    Vic

  14. @ Jago

    Yeah, Married… with Children the Movie is something I’ve been considering for a while now. All the original actors are still messing around Hollywood.

    Season 11/the final one is coming out in October. My collection will be complete, 11 seasons of BUNDY! No’M'am!

    I watched the Spring Break episode the other day. Bud Bundy was the original Playa!

  15. @ jordi

    yes it does feature donnie yen, should be watching it in a few hours

  16. @vic
    Thanks been anticipating—”Zombieland”

    other horror films I’m waiting for “paranormal activity”
    “house of the devil”
    “antichrist” “Cold prey2″
    What do you think?

  17. I’m looking forward to Paranormal Activity, but you couldn’t pay me to watch Antichrist.

    Vic

  18. Not into torture porn eh Vic? :D

  19. SYFY has a new trailer for the Upcoming Phantom miniseries based on the classic chrarcter by Lee Falk.
    I saw it at AICN.

  20. Ok, I know it is 21 months away but when are we going to get some actual names of people that are being considered for Captain America?

    Joe Johnson is finished with Wolfman as of this month right?

    I know this has got to be the most difficult super hero to cast but we have been waiting forever! Plus, I’m tired of seeing these John Cena fans claiming that he can actually handle the role. There has got to be over 1000 threads full of suggestions on IMDB alone.

  21. *Google’s John Cena*

    Hmm, well he certainly has the face, but a general rule of thumb is that wrestlers don’t tend to make the jump to decent acting very well (Dwayne Johnson being the exception, although he is in a lot of crap).

  22. I can’t believe people actually voted for Megan Fox in the poll. Are you kidding?

    And what’s up with Star Wars in Hollywood? Is there ever going to be any talk about filming the trilogy of the last 3 movies after Return of the Jedi? If they aren’t talking about it, someone needs to start.

  23. @790

    I know all of it isn’t filmed in Florida, but some of the beach scenes I know are because I recognize some of the locales while watching it. But other places doesn’t look like Miami or Fort Lauderdale, lol.

    @SIN

    Come on, you must have finished Ip Man already, so tell us, freakin blow your mind awesome or what?? lol

  24. @M-Cat

    Yah, I guess people thought the poll was for a Michael Bay movie not a Chris Nolan movie, haha.

  25. Yeah they do some location shots in Miami that’s true but the majority of the show is filmed in Manhattan Beach, and Long Beach California.
    The police dept interiors, Dexters apt and his new wifes house are all sets in Hollywood. The exterior locations are also in LA.

  26. Heroes and Dexter film on the same lot,,,

    (Little bit of trivia). :-D

  27. @M-Cat

    While the thought of three more Star Wars movies was originally thought to be a good thing. The passing of the three prequels of the story were rather hit and miss due to the plot holes and stilted scripts and less than convincing screen performances that were in evidence from the first three films. Hey I still enjoyed them, but overall, they lacked that certain something that was evident when compared to the “middle three”.

    Not to say that there weren’t some really good moments, there was the Pod Race scene and the open negotiations scene from Menace, but you couple that with Jar Jar and the PC backlash evident with the handling of the voices of the aliens from the trade federation, well that took away some of luster of the badass fight scenes with Darth Maul.

    The Jedi fight versus Count Dooka and the Boba Fett origin story stuff was really nifty in the 2nd film, but the love story thread was just less than nifty. Maybe it was the actors, maybe it was the dialog and maybe it was a bit of both.

    As for the next movie, the betrayal buildup stuff was alright, we knew it was going to be darker, but this whole self fulfilling prophesy of the Jedi not trusting Annikin theme that wound it’s way over all of these films was incredibly forced and played like a Buck Rogers episode arc.

    Like I said, I own all of the films, but with the criticism that followed, Lucas’ rep as a filmaker was essentially blown and unless he does it all with his own money, I doubt there will be a SW 7.

  28. piratedan

    that’s all the more reason to come back strong with the last 3 movies. make up for the mess and do it like the “middle” 3 movies because they were great. get back to the space battles and stay away from the land battles with thousands of robots everywhere. get a badass protagonist for the trilogy, like Vader, and get Star Wars back on track.

  29. @790

    Yah, I KNOW the interior of Miami PD does not look ANYTHING like that, haha…

    Also, I can tell they don’t do most of their filming in Florida because they do our licenses wrong. Florida Driver’s License is first name first, then last name. The few times they’ve showed a FL DL, they had it last name first, then first name… I mean, I prefer it to be last name first, but that’s simply not how they are in Florida. If they did a lot of shooting in FL they definitely would have known that…
