As usual – talk about whatever you like as long as it’s related to movies, TV or Screen Rant itself – just remember to play nice. simple smile Open Discussion September 23, 2013

  1. Probably going to get crucified for saying this but I was actually pleased with the dexter finale.

      • it doesnt seem like they will be able to wrap it up in only one episode! i wish we had at least 2 left!

      • Yeah this weeks episode was awesome, I was wondering when they would finally go forward in time. keen to see how the flash forwards come into play and what happens after.

  2. So i got a little carried away this weekend and bought Arrow, Terra Nova, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Season 2, and World War Z on DVD. only $68 all together!

    • That’s a really good savings. I am assuming that Arrow cost the most. I slowly bought each episode via Amazon throughout 2 mths. Have you watched the entire series of TSCC? I really wish it didn’t end.

      • Yeah arrow cost $30. And Terra Nova has been $40 for the past two years and this weekend it was $10. Score! and yeah i watched the TSCC earlier this year, and i liked them enough to buy them. and yes, i really wish it wouldnt have ended either. they could have at least given it one more season.

  3. Which are the most unexpected success movies of 2013?

    • As in box office wise? or just out of opinion

    • No Instructions Included?

      • Instructions not included clearly takes that prize

    • I’m still shocked that Identity Thief (so far) has done better domestically then The Wolverine and Pacific Rim.

      • I think Now You See Me counts as a big box office success. As well as World War Z. It might not be up there with some other movies, especially with that big of a budget, but considering the time where even the best case scenario was that it was gonna bomb i think it did pretty well.

    • While I knew Despicable Me 2 would do well, I don’t think anyone expected it to be number 2 for 2013. It even beat out the juggernaut of animated Pixar coming close to both Monsters U and Planes combined.

  4. you guys didn’t post anything about ninja 2 (scott adkins)?

  5. I tried seeing if they released any new pictures of costumes from Days Of Future Past next year & not sure if it was someone’s custom Wolverine costume or not but wanted to know if anybody seen pictures. It looked like Wolverine’s black/yellow mask along with gloves & costume in a big trunk case. The body costume was folded up but the gloves & mask were seen. Any thoughts?

  6. Who’s picking up Iron Man 3 tomorrow on Blu-ray ?

    • I bought it digitally already and Disney is asking for what, $30 for the blu ray? Ill wait til it goes down and then get it. Until then, $17 for HD digital works for me.

  7. I’ll be picking it up on dvd. No Blu-ray player yet.

    • same here, thought i really want a bluray, but i dont think it will be worth it until i get a HD TV. at my house we are still using an old 500,000 lbs box like tv. I personally have a flatscreen HD tv, but its only 22 inches.

  8. *bluray player.

    • I always wanted Christopher Meloni or Billy Zane as Lex.

  9. So is anybody wondering how WB is going to make a “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” movie? I own the book and it is only like 25 pages long and the pages are each about six inches long and 5 inches wide.

I honestly was wishing WB would just do an American version and have an American school but apparently not.

    • It wouldn’t surprise me if they filled in the back story of particular creatures’ discoveries…or some similar plot, since the book, it self, has no plot (it’s just a guide, after all).

    • They are not making that book into a movie. J.K. Rowling is going to write a new series of screenplays based on the wizard author of the book 70 years before the events of the Potter films. The first movie is just going to be called “Magical beasts and where to find them”.

It’s a good way of continuing the wizarding world in the context of the film universe that was created for it.

      • Most likely it will be about his studies, he does have to find the fantastic beasts

  10. Sheesh…That should be “itself” (one word).

  11. Spoilers if you haven’t seen these films

2 films with a lot in common:

12 Monkeys – a man is sent back in time to look for something
Looper – a man sends himself back in time to look for someone

    Both star Bruce Willis

In both films he sees his own death, with Looper he sees it in his head, just before he disappears from existence, with 12 Monkeys, when he is shot and killed at the airport his younger self is at the airport and witnesses.

And in both, I’d have to say both characters are slightly mentally damaged, in 12 Monkeys he has recurring dreams of seeing himself die.

In Looper he his haunted by the vision of his future wife dying.
