As usual – talk about whatever you like as long as it’s related to movies, TV or Screen Rant itself – just remember to play nice. simple smile Open Discussion September 21, 2012

  1. So why do you think the resident evil films do so well in asia?

    • ohhh so many jokes so little time…

  2. So I’ve had some very negative feelings about The Hobbit’s trailer. I rewatched Fellowship last night in hopes that my excitement would go up.

Although it didn’t go sky high, I am a little more excited to see more of the story.

    • Really? Which trailer did you see? I thought it looked like an excellent adaptation, thus far, with a lighthearted tone that will, as in the story, get darker as the movies progress.

  3. A lot of stuff going floating around about the actor that was used for Thanos in the avengers, doesn’t seem like Marvel is set on bringing him back. Does any one know if the Thanos scene in the avengers was done with motion capture? Or did they only use his voice?

    • Ummm, I don’t think Thanos even spoke. He didn’t look CG though so I’m guessing they threw some makeup and prosthetics on the actor? Or maybe I’m wrong and it was CGI and used motion capture.

      • To me, it looked like very CHEAP cgi, as a matter of fact…I found the shawarma button to be much more interesting.

  4. Whose excited to pick up te avengers ok u ray in a few days! I am for sure.

Does anyone know if target or best buy is gonna have exclusive content? I know they do that sometimes still wondering where to buy it.

All I know bout best buy is they have a steel book edition.

    • I sure am! It’s going to look so pretty on bluray 😀 I haven’t looked up where to buy it though.

    • I’ll be picking up the avengers Blu-ray and the dark knight returns pt.1 on release day. I’m gonna have to do a bit of research to see who’s got the best deal as well as exclusive content. Which copy are you getting Blu-ray Dvd combo, Blu-ray or the 4 disc Blu-ray combo ?

      • I’m getting the Blu-ray and DVD combo. I think the four disc one comes with a 3D Blu-ray which I don’t need since I don’t have a 3D TV.

        • I heard the 4 disc Blu-ray combo pack is the one with the most extras, not exactly sure but I’m gonna check it out, aside from the 3-D Blu-ray which I don’t really need its the one I’m picking up.

      • I’m definelty getting the BLU ray DVD combo. Usually best buy has extra featurerttes or something a well as awesome packaging.

I remember when deathly Hallows part 2 came out they had the character covers which I thought was awesome. So here’s hoping.

        • Cool, I know Walmart has an avengers gift set and I think Target might have something exclusive to them but not sure. I’m looking forward to screenrants review as Vic already confirmed they are doing one. :) Bringing the avengers home to watch in my home theater is gonna be AWESOME I can’t wait!!!!

  5. Where/How was Extremis hinted at in the Avengers? I totally missed that!

    • It wasn’t .

    • Never hinted in The Avengers.

In the deleted scenes of IM2 there was this ball that morphs into stuff (and Favreou hinted that that was going to play a much bigger role – i.e. MAYBE that was some sort of extremis protopype)… maybe that’s what you’re referring to?

      • *prototype

      • Hmmmmn…In an article on SR just a little while ago (the one featuring the etremis Iron Man and the Iron Patritot War Machine concept art) it said:
“For Iron Man 3, we’ve long known that Shane Black and Drew Pearce’s screenplay is drawing ideas and inspiration from Warren Ellis’ 2005-06 “Extremis” mini-series where the character gets a new origin of sorts via nanotechnology, allowing him to change into the armor at will. It was hinted at in The Avengers and in Iron Man 3, it’ll offering a chance for Stark to once again to suit up in something new.”
If I’m not mistaken, that leads me to believe that there was a hint somewhere.

        • Maybe they’re referring to the armor that flew out of the window and attached to Stark (with the bracelets) near the end? – that’s the closest thing I can think of and I’ve seen the movie 4 times.

          • @ The Avenger

Got you beat, i saw The Avengers 5 times. I new record for me to see any movie that number of times, lol.

            • I’ve only seen it twice…:-( lol I’ll see it some more when it comes out on DVD.

            • I’ve seen ‘Iron Man’ over 20 times over the years…
              Beat that 😉

          • Ah, I guess that could be considered a reference. I see.

  6. I think today we’ve published the most reviews ever in a single day. :)

Four so far and one more on the way!

    • Keep up the great work Vic as always, screenrant is the best movie/tv site on the net thanks for all the hard work to the entire screenrant staff for making it such an awesome site.

Quick question Vic, any chance of a review of the upcoming Avengers Blu-ray on possibly which is the best one to get ?

      • What he said. Thank you so much! This site gets me through the most boring of days at work.

        • Thanks, guys.

And yes, we will have a review of the Avengers Blu-ray.

          • Thanks Vic looking forward to it :)

  7. @ Vic

Always doing a great job with reviews!!! Thanks!!

  8. John O’Hurley as Doctor Strange. For some reason when I think Dr. Strange, I think of J. Peterman’s voice from Seinfeld.

Eve Torres as Gamora would be awesome!

What actors would you guys like to see take the helm for GOTG & Doc S?

    • I could see Timothy Dalton as Dr. Strange. That might put off some people though.

      John Hamm as Peter Quill

not his biggest fan but Vin Deisel as Drax

I guess may be Brittany Daniel as Quasar

not to sure on Adam Warlock, Gamora, and Mantis.

  9. So Xmen first class 2!!! What about Xmen4???

  10. How soon will there be more info on the Fox show Amazon. Such as who will star and wene will it be on. Or is it doomed like the last attempt at Wonder Woman.

    • OOPS meant to say on the WB channel Fox will have Athena instead

  11. Can i play blu-ray dvds on my laptop? I just got one.

    • If your laptop is equipped with a Blu-ray drive then it will otherwise only dvds will work on your laptop.

    • Look at your laptop’s disc tray, if there’s a Blu-Ray logo then yes, if there isn’t, then no.

Not many laptops have BD drives… only the top of the range stuff (like Alienware and high-end Dells for example)

    • Even if your computer can only play DVDs, there IS the possibility that you could add a Blu-ray rom player externally…I have one for my HP laptop that works wonderfully.

  12. Hey Vic. Do you think theres any hope for WB/DC’s shared universe or think they they will rush everything?
