It’s Wednesday so that means two things:

Talk about whatever you like as long as it’s related to movies, TV or Screen Rant itself.
Around the web:

I think I tried posting this on last week’s open discussion recently, but don’t think it went up, or maybe it did, but Marc Forster has said that he doesn’t want to do another Bond movie, at least not the next one. Who has an idea or preference for the next Bond director? I vote for Martin Campbell of Casino Royale and Goldeneye.
Hm, I wonder if the spam thing filtered my comment twice on two separate posts even though they were worded differently… Maybe there is a word in there that’s tripping the filter…
Ive never really had that problem on here except when my comp. is failing (which is all the time
) but I dont really know what words trip the spam filter…
is it just me or does it seem like the recent batman movies might be an akward fit to the rest of the DC justice league characters. is nolan’s dark Knight to realistic for the fantasy world of the flash, wonderwoman, GL, superman, etc. superman returns seemed to have a similar dark feel to it like the batman movies. so is that where there going with the DC universe… a more realistic world… and will it work?
It works for Batman,
it wont help the other films to go dark.
@ Vic
Sorry to be the smart ass but it’s October 22,not September 22.:p
I would have to say the world of ‘The Dark Knight’ is too real for all except for perhaps Wonder Woman. She, like Batman, is a regular human who has enhanced her abilities through training and discipline. Add to that the pristine environment of of the island she grew up on and you can explain away any of her seemingly super human abilities. Such as strength, reflexes, or highly sensitive hearing or eyesight. The one thing that wouldn’t fit would be her Golden Lasso. Magic ropes don’t fit into the real world very well.
@Clean Talking Chimp
Doh!
Thanks for pointing that out!
Vic
As for going ‘dark’ for Wonder Woman, that is something I’d like to see! To take her out of the bright and cheery world of an island paradise and drop her into the dark world of the last Batman movie could be all sorts mischievous fun!!
So what does everyone think of the last season of Smallville thus far? I am really enjoying it, despite not having Lex on the show. Then again, I have enjoyed all the seasons so far and haven’t been as critical as some of the people on here. I would really love the season to end with Clark in the Superman outfit flying out of the fortress….
I just wanted to toss this out there to everyone here at what I now affectionately call the rant. The Watchmen footage from the Spike Scream awards is now online. I just viewed it over at Superhero Hype. Thought whoever didnt catch the show might want to catch it online now.
Over at The Movie Blog, they have an article that quotes a Cinematical interview with Marvel suit Kevin Feige about the Hulk franchise, and amongst the interview comes some interesting tidbits regarding the future of the green monster.
He says that we probably won’t see another Hulk film, where he is the main lead, until the Avengers movie comes out and there would be some possibilities of cross-pollinating between films…
What are your thoughts regarding the cross-pollinating comic book characters that are soon to come in Iron Man, Thor, Avengers?
I love the idea of cross pollination of characters. I just wish Marvel could regain all the rights to all their characters faster so we could see Wolvie or Spidey in the Avengers.
This is what I always loved about the Marvel toons of the early 90′s. They cross pollinated well and allowed fans to see some action from their favorite characters who maybe didnt have their own show.
I dont really see any bad coming from this as long as Marvel always focuses on having a great script first.
First of all, Wonder Woman didn’t just train to get her “powers.” She’s from the Amazon clan and has god like strength endowed by the old gods. Shes not human. Far from it. In fact she is more like Superman then Batman. C’mon.
@Dan
Just posted up an article about the far away Hulk sequel.
Vic
@Deadpool
We’ll be posting up that footage later today.
Vic
@Sean
I was going to point that out about Wonder Woman being partially a goddess, but you beat me to it.
@Deadpool
I was going to watch Scream Awards last night but I was feeling lousy; 790 had reminded me to tune in. He also has a blog about the show and I’ll let him give the address.
New extended Watchmen trailer is up… PLUS a new poster AND the MPAA rating for the film.
Vic
Ok with that whole Wonder Woman going dark thing I just have one thing to say. Can ny of you imagine a woman who wears Red, White, and blue and carries a golden lasso going dark? I for the life of my cant see that.
Just wanted to say that I admired your stance on the whole Zack and Miri make a porno title issue. I very much agree with you that the issue is a slippery slope. While Im far from conservative, I feel I need to respect a person who might be offended by it if they saw the print ad on a bus or train station. Most people on the boards don’t seem to get that.This is an issue on the title not the films content!
Thanks
CHUCK
Thanks, Chuck. I noticed you on a couple of the same posts I was commenting on. Believe me, I feel like I’m sweeping back the ocean on topics like that, but I’m holding firm.

BTW guys, I’m looking for a little Digg help on a cool Star Trek post I did a while back that is one of my favorites:

Thought it was pretty good. Oscar material
I also missed the Scream Awards last night, simply forgot, but I did get to see the Watchmen trailer yesterday. Love the song, still giggle that its from Batman and Robin.
From what I’ve read from last week’s preview, the movie is fantastic and I cannot wait.
Just watched Smallville. Not Emmy-winning television, but they are definitely finally moving it towards the Superman mythos.
Vic
You know what, I’ve lost all hope for humanity. The fact that Beverly Hills Chihuahua was the number one movie for like 2 or 3 weeks, and how it’s still number 2 now, I don’t understand it. When I saw the commercial, I was sure it was just going to be another bomb. But apparently people are dumber than I think to waste their hard earned money to watch a movie about a bunch of dogs… Why are people complaining about gas prices and then wasting their money on things like this?? I don’t get it.
Ken, I have actually heard that BHC was not that bad (believe it or not). Could be one of the few instances where the trailer was far worse than the movie itself.
Go figure.
