AND the spoilers that are releasted about the first 5 minutest- I don’t watch the fist 5 minutes, and dont want my favorite movies/comic book movie sitest to reavel what happens in a news story…

-I hate Other Spoilers to. Like when Comic book movie – said that were audience ready, and the shock that would happen because of the **** in watchmen.
DAMN you! I on purpose did not re-read(read most of it when I was 10) the watchmen comic so I would not know what happends at all…

You damn diry apes!! damn you all to hell…

kyyle23 says:

How long do you guys think it will be before another Alien flick is made? And is there anyone who feels that another Alien film can be made properly?

Personally, I think if there was any franchise that needed a do-over, this is it. In high school I really enjoyed the Alien book trilogy that detailed Aliens taking over earth and the Humans having to leave earth only to come back and re-take it.

Thoughts?

790 says:

Sure it could be done,,, that perticular concept seems a little done to death, but I’m sure somebodys sitting on an epic Alien script.

Prob is once a great “Aliens script” gets in the hands of the 2008,studio exec he changes it ,,, then finds the cheapest Director to film it.

Ken J says:

The only way to make a good Alien movie now, is if they ignore 3 and 4. They can make a “prequel” type thing where they show the fight those colonists put up against the aliens on that moon where Aliens took place. Of course ending with the final human being killed or taken captive and Newt hiding out.

Or they could do something along those lines as long as 3 or 4 are not counted. Meaning any actual sequel taking place after the events of Aliens should have Ripley, Newt, Hicks, and Bishop alive. And anything we know about the Aliens should be consistent with what we learned from 1 and 2.

790 says:

Well that premise has been done 4 times.
Alien kills ppl, terror,,,
Ppl fight back,,,
Facehugger attack.
Alien queen located. Hero takes out Queen and barly escapes or did she.
Airlock to the rescue.

Yaaaaaaaawwwwwnnnnnn

They need to take the Alien story down a new road…
If they keep going with this Avp crap, it mights as well be Saw 6.

The only way I’d vote for another Alien movie would be if Sigourney Weaver returned with either Ridley Scott (possible) or James Cameron (NEVER gonna happen).

kyyle23 says:

Vic, seriously go down the road with Ripley again? That dog has to be put down for good. Ridley Scott or James Cameron, yes, but Ripley lived over something like a 400 year span didnt she? Time to move on.

790 says:

The Speed Racer bonus features were great !!!!!!

Very funny.

Ken J says:

Well Kyyle, the only reason why Ripley went on for so long is because of someone’s STUPID idea of bringing her back through DNA. That’s exactly why I said to ignore 3 and 4. Pretend Alien and Aliens are the only movies that are canon. Let’s not even mention the AVP movies shall we?

@790

I may actually keep a copy of Speed Racer for myself and give it another try. :-)

Vic

kyyle23 says:

Ken, I have no problem ignoring 3 through 6, have no fear.

And I have heard the prequel idea kicked around a little bit, but not in regards to how Newt got to where she was when she was found, but rather in regards to the unknown pilots in the original Alien, how they got where they were, and why were they carrying a cargo of Alien eggs.

One part of the series that really got away was the governments involvement in trying to contain and “use” the aliens. Its almost nonexistent in Resurrection, we got a token version of it with the original Bishop in AVP, and I am guessing there is none of it in AVPR(I wont watch it until I am bored 10 years from now and its the only thing on TV).

I still love the “Takeover of Earth” scenario in the books.

kyyle23 says:

And by nonexistent in resurrection, I mean there is nobody pulling strings like the Paul Reiser character. Just basically some scientists trying to whip up some DNA to see what happens, with a token military guy running things.

God that movie pissed me off so much

790 says:

That’s great Vic,,, its really underated ,,, ;-)
Make sure you watch the Bonus feature “Spritle hits the Big Leagues”. Very funny. !!!!!!!

I didn’t realise how many Matrix references were in the film until I watched it again on dvd.
I think they even used some of the props.
Check out the phone in Racers house,,, it looks like the phone Trinity answers in the first scene of Matrix. Also the ring is exactly the same.
There’s a few more references you’ll notice the 2nd or 3rd time around.

There’s also a lot of NWO symbology layered in Royalton and his company.
See if you can spot the Owl,,, nice touch Wachowskies. :-)

790 says:

@kyyle23, if you watch the Aliens Special edition cut,,, it shows Newt’s family, and also how the base was contaminated.

Red Dwarf fans will notice a certain familer Captian is (was) in command of the base before it fell. 8-)

steven the git says:

Captain Hollister!
Yes, I recognised him.

Personally I like all 4 movies (being in the UK helps with 3 as you know most of the cast from tv), and if they did a 5th (AvsP don’t count at all) then the idea of a war between humans and aliens on Earth would certainly appeal to me.

790 says:

A Rimmer salute to you Steven the Git.
8-)
I didn’t like 3 at all but 4 was decent.
The special edition had a great twist ending, and of course Ron Perlman.

BRAVEHEART says:

Just been to see Hellboy 2 at last!!
My film of the year so far…absolutly fantastic…funny, exciting, massive effects, beautiful to look at,I could go on.
This is how you make a comic-book-hero-work-on-the-big-screen!!!

Ken J says:

Ok I know this will sound out of the blue, but I need to say this somewhere and can’t think of anywhere else this would fit. But my friend, for whatever reason, decided to rent 88 Minutes with Al Pacino, despite my warnings that it got phenominally low ratings on rottentomatoes… Well, let me tell you, that movie SUCKED big time. Almost none of it makes sense and the acting was pretty bad, even Al Pacino, but I guess it’s probably because he didn’t care, and with a script like that, I don’t see how you CAN care…

I felt like I was in mystery science theater 3000 because my friend and I didn’t find 3 minutes in the movie that was not worth commenting on. There was ALWAYS a “omg, that is so stupid, why would they…” comment around every bend…

What a waste of our time…

790 says:

Ah we finally agree Ken J.
88 minutes is crapola yes you are correctomundo.
