It’s Wednesday, so it’s time for our weekly discussion post where I open the forum to you folks.

Talk about whatever you like as long as it’s related to movies, TV or Screen Rant itself. Any Halloween-ish things on your mind? :-)

  1. I wish ther was a halloween themed film out there that didnt include massive amounts of gore and blood.
do we REALLY need Saw 6 through 10?

  2. The Dominion Prophecies are comming!
    Happy Halloween!

    Peace,
    M.W.L.

  3. I never thought I’d hear myself say this but… I’d like to see this new Van Damme movie. JCVD. (boy that felt strange to say)

  4. Only 5 weeks away from Punisher Warxone now! I’m excited…….is anyone else excited? ……. anyone?…………. anyone? Well, forget you then. I completed my Punisher halloween costume last night and it’s going to be awesome. Now I have to figure out how to get into the party with all the faux weaponry…. hmm.

  5. ” Now I have to figure out how to get into the party with all the faux weaponry…. hmm.”

Flash a “9″ and no one will tell you “no.”

  6. Hey , I just read a story over at comicbookmovie.com about a Dr. Strange movie.
Now , I realize that Dr. Strange is NOT exactly a Marvel heavyweight but I always thought he was one of their coolest characters. I would loooooooooooooooooove to see them make this.
Today I read that they’re getting Christian Bale to play the good doctor. I expect that it is just gossip but…………..

Do you think this could be real ?

Bale IS the Batman AND John Connors : would he really take Strange as well ?
I say again , I doubt it will be Bale but I would totally want to see him do this . I think it would be so very very cool.
What do you guys(and gals) think ?

  7. @RastaZen

Have you seen the 2007 Marvel animated doctor strange film? It really is fantastic. I loved it.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0910865/

I’m confident, marvel studios will be making a live action version of him in the next few years.

  8. @rastazen

I wouldn’t put too much stock in it. I think the people over at comicbookmovie.com have begun to lose their mind. They are posting some things that are just ridiculous – i.e. Rachel Dawes coming back as a member of the undead and as an undead catwoman, no less.

  9. I saw that Dr Strange news yesterday but it is insanely speculative about a movie that is years away.

    Vic

  10. Vic –

You put it much nicer than I did. :)

  11. “Flash a ’9′ and no one will tell you ‘no.’

Haha……Well, I have three berettas, a shotgun, an M16, a full belt of m-16 rounds and three grenades (all airsoft of course). Little excessive? Yes, but it’s the freakin punisher man! Haha!!!

  12. Wow Vic, I’m surprised you even had time to start this open discussion, considering what has happened with the story about Fireproof. I posted a couple of times over there, basically asking people to be civil, and I have been following it even though I don’t plan on posting there again. Boy have things gotten out of control. I had no idea so many people would have gotten so angry about that. Vic, I noticed you said you expected a fair amount of comments on the issue, but did you anticipate this much anger? I sure didnt.

Lets change the subject. Dr Strange, the movie. I think it could be good. The animated film was really good. I think if they did the live action like the animated, it could be very very good. I’d love to see it, even though I’d imagine it’d have to be a CGI-fest. Bale will not end up being Dr Strange. The one thing I noticed about comicbookmovie.com is that they are very speculative. I find that they really cant be trusted when it comes to casting rumors. Thats why I left them and came here.

Im interested in finding out if anyone here is excited about Punisher: War Zone? Will anyone go see it?

  13. Ok, I say let’s go to J BIZ’s house when the terrorists come over. :-)

I just read about Dr. Strange on comicbookmovie.com. I also read on there that they are trying to make a “Ninja Scroll” movie. I enjoyed the anime but will a live-action Ninja Scroll work?

  14. @Deadpool

If the discussion had been limited to those who usually visit the site it would have been more civil, but unexpectedly the post made it to the front page of Digg, which brought in the masses of hateful Diggers.

Kind of similar to AintItCool.com talkbackers. :-)

    Vic

  15. I appreciate the fact that you don’t run with wild rumors, and put things into perspective with stories such as Bale as Dr Strange. When I read stuff like that I laugh because its just not believable. I also think that the superhero film will top out in the next few years as there now grasping at straws with ideas to bring to the big screen. Dr Strange does not excite me at all! When they announce a Wonder Twins film you know the genre’s in trouble!

  16. @ Sabin
yes I’ve watched the animated Dr Strange and I really enjoyed it.

    @INK
yea , the zombie catwoman thing was way out there.
I realize that Bale as Strange is virtually impossible but I do still hope Dr Strange gets his own movie.

  17. “but I do still hope Dr Strange gets his own movie.”

    Agreed.

  18. I just read that David Tennant is quiting Doctor Who!

“David Tennant is to quit as Doctor Who at the end of next year…The BBC confirmed that Tennant would complete the filming of four special episodes to be shown this year and early in 2010, as well as a Christmas special in 2009. There is no series scheduled for next year because of Tennant’s commitments with the Royal Shakespeare Company.”

  19. I dont like reading the stuff at comicbookmovies.com just because they speculate too much and nothing they say is really beliveble.

Im excited for the punisher movie I might go see it with my brother and dad. This one looks really good

  20. Anybody hear the rumor that Al Qaeda is trying to get ILM to produce the new Bin Laden video ???

    8-) 8-) 8-)

  21. Just FYI, I’ve seen a new version of last Punisher film on DVD.
It has some new bonus features, and a mini comic book.

  22. Just bought Iron Man on DVD and boy is this a cracker of a superhero movie…When I saw it in the movies a few months back…I never saw the Nick Fury end…How much do these little gems at the end of these movies make the hairs on the back of your neck go up!!!The scene in Hulk with Tony Stark coming in to talk with Gen Ross was excellent…and Nicky Boys show here is brilliant…all hinting to the most eagerly awaited Avengers movie!!!
This is fantasy cinema at it’s very best!!Well done to all at Marvel…you’re bringing the dream alive!!

  23. Just wanted to throw this out there. There is an interesting snipet over at Super Hero Hype about an article in Entertainment Weekly. The article offers a little more insight into why Terrance Howard lost his role as Rhodes in Iron Man. It’s pretty good. Check it out here

  24. @Deadpool

Yeah, heard about that late last night. I just wrote something up about it.

    Vic

  25. Have you all heard J.M. Straczynski has been tapped to write a “Forbidden Planet” remake?
You know this is getting way, way outta hand.
What does everybody think of an aggregate site to measure the popularity of such Dreck and throw it up for everyone to see? Maybe if studio heads knew just what audiences think of the numb nutty ideas that get tossed out here, they would stop wasting money on Model T’s, and start building some Ferrari’s and Rolls Royce’s.

  26. Woah! I’m sorry the old man, but I must disagree on the “Forbidden Planet” remake.

While I generally agree that the remake/reboot/sequel fest needs to slow in favor of original ideas, I really think that “Forbidden Planet” deserves a good remake. The film certainly is old enough, so a remake could feel fresh if done right. I will say that I worry this remake could suffer the same fate as “Lost in Space”

But I blame Matt LeBlanc for that!

  27. @Deadpool

Yeah, I’m sure people said the same thing about “The Day the Earth Stood Still.”

    Vic

  28. Yeah but Vic, you have to consider JMS is a worthy writer and will stay true to the core material… ;-)
