So V is soemwhat similar to battlestar galactica then minus the alien differnces?
I only caught the last half of “V”, but it was better than I expected it to be. I hope they can keep it up, but I was surprised (SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!) that they revealed that they were reptilian so quickly.
END SPOILER!!!!
I finally was able to catch the new NCIS: LA show last night, and I really enjoyed it. Will probably continue to watch it weekly now.
I know I will probably get some heat for this, but I think that Stargate Universe is actually getting better. It’s growing on me. I think that each episode is getting better, so my hope for the show has been rekindled. I still think it’s a long way from SG-1 or Atlantis, but it’s turning into a decent show on it’s own.
Caught “V” last night, it was great the SyFy showed the original over the weekend, hadn’t seen it since it first aired and I was a young pup at that time, it was nice being able to see and understand the social implications they were making. I felt it was a little rushed as well, they sort of just pushed you into the second hour of the original instead of establishing it on it’s own.

I did like the update that the Visitors were here as a sleeper cell terrorist organization though, nice little update to the times, but I hope they don’t try to get too political with the show.

Overall, think I’ll watch it again to see how it builds on itself, but don’t think I’m going to hold out hope given the almost five month hiatus. That doesn’t invoke a lot of confidence.

The NEWS MEDIA swoons in admiration one simpering anchorman even shouts at a reporter who asks a tough question, “why don’t you show some respect?!”. The public is likewise smitten except for a few nut cases who circulate crazy rumors on the internet about the leaders ORIGINS and intentions. The leader, undismayed offers assurances that are soothing if also just a tiny bit condescending, “Embracing CHANGE is never easy.”
So does that sound like anyone you know? Oh wait did I mention the leader is secretly a space lizard who’s come here to eat us,,,)

Vic, I’ve noticed for the last few days the “Latest Comments” box has disappeared from the right-hand side there. Is this a permanent thing? I’ll miss it if so: there are a number of Rantin’ regulars whose posts I’ll check out if I see their names no matter what thread they’re on, and quite often I’ve found myself appreciating a thread I might not normally have bothered too much with.
Yah, I’ve noticed that too, now that box only appears on the main page. It doesn’t appear on the archive view or on any of the articles.

I’m doing a navigation experiment right now on internal pages. I ran some tests and I’ve found almost no one clicks on those links. For now (and possibly permanantly) those will still be available on the home page.
