As usual – talk about whatever you like as long as it’s related to movies, TV or Screen Rant itself – just remember to play nice. icon smile Open Discussion November 27, 2013

  1. So does anyone know of some good Blu Ray sales for black friday? :)

    • I shop mainly on Amazon so check out those 2 links.

      • Thanks! The Lord of the Rings trilogy pack is a pretty sweet deal. As is the Harry Potter five movie pack. Do you know how long these deals usually last?

        • They are usually weekly deals. I know all week though they are having different deals because of the holiday. Subscribe to their emails and you’ll get notified as well.

        • I got the 8 film HP bluray pack for $35 like a year ago. It was an amazon deal during October I think. I wouldn’t have known had my friend not informed me about it. He’s a bit of a deal hunter like LC

Where can I get the LOTR blurays NOT extended editions? I like both but if I had to pick one or the other I would rather own the theatrical versions.

  2. How’s this for an all-Canadian ALPHA FLIGHT
directed by: James Cameron OR Paul Haggis OR Mike Clattenburg

    Vindicator Stephen Amell
    Guardian Rachel McAdams
    Puck Seth Rogan (cg’d down)
    Shaman Adam Beach
    Snowbird Tricia Helfer
    Aurora Elisha Cuthbert
    Northstar Joshua Jackson
    Sasquatch Elias Koteas (cg’d up)

The Master Christopher Plummer or Shatner.

    ha ha this was fun.

    • Why Canadians?

All the American superheroes are being played by Brits. :)

  3. Happy Thanksgiving, Scranters!

    • You too, good sir!

    • Happy Slapsgiving!

  4. No oldboy review ?
    Is it that bad ?
It’s playing in my area and I just want to know if it’s worth seen

  5. Screen Rant, when are you going to ad an Edit button? I’ve been waiting for years.

  6. I just want to put it out there that I would support a Kickstarter for Screen Rant to go ad free.

    • I don’t know… ads are fine. They support the site, and if a person knows how to do it (it’s not hard) they can circumvent the ads. Then that leaves the majority of people who don’t care about blocking the ads, and they support the site.

    • Ads are how these fine people get paid. Without ads, there is no screenrant.

      • To be fair, that’s why he suggested a Kickstarter. It’s not that he doesn’t want them to get paid. It’s that he wants them paid through something ebsides ads. Personally I think the ads are fine.

        • Kickstarter is paid by the people though with something promised in return. I get the idea, just don’t see a possible execution. Id give Vic some money now and then… but not as much as their ad revenue bring in LOL.

          • went ad free with a kickstarter. I was saying that because the Oldboy add today bogged down up my work software that is online. I do have a pretty crappy work comp with an old browser. Hopeing it will get better when we upgrade to go to windows 7.

And I suppose I could be working instead of reading SR.

  7. As an avid arrow fan, I pride myself on my ability to catch Easter eggs. I caught the one for cyborg, superman and Rhas al Ghul, but I want your opinion on one that I think I have spotted… The starling city news channel is channel 52… Is it just me or does the channel logo look like the New 52 logo?

  8. Its a free movie channel weekend b*tches
I got hbo, cinemax, encore, starz, etc
what a treat for my break from college

Ive watched the hobbit 1/dark knight rises, which i hated in theaters, it works better on tv.
I also watched the first robocop(and 2) and terminator for the first time,
I was surprised by their quality but im looking forward to a remake.

    • Terminator has aged very well imho.

Judging by the other movies you mentioned it sounds like you are a fellow action-junkie. :) Now that you’ve seen the first one I urge you to see T2: Judgement Day. Its incredible. Even by today’s standards some of the effects in that movie are insane.

      • not really an action movie junkie, its just the recent theatrical ones they got that i care about.
Ive seen a bit of t2, but was bored, dont really care about the kid.
I also watched a movie called Bliss(1997) last night but ill let you look that up, just know i was a bit pissed off by the wife.

  9. Person of Interest….since it changed to Tuesday at 10:00 PM, I have missed many episodes, but these last two were great! Top-notch television! I’ll have to make more of an effort to watch it! Just wish it was on earlier…

    • It was funny it when Aceveda was on (from Fringe)… it was like whispering contest between him and Reese.

The last two episodes were pretty good and unexpected.

      • Didn’t see the episode(s) with Aceveda. He is actually now on The Walking Dead.

Yea, these last two episodes of Person of Interest were a real surprise. I’m not sorry to see her go, though, as I always felt she was the weakest character, at least in terms of acting ability. She just never convinced me in her role.
