    • Batman: Arkham City for $28
      A few $5 blu-rays

Overall a good investment of time.

      • I picked mine up today INK! And Uncharted 3 8)

And that’s for me but I finish Xmas shopping for family. :)
Best buy was insane. But I love it.

    • I ordered Independence Day on Blu-ray from Amazon the other day via a Lightning Deal and it ended up being free somehow – and since I’m an Amazon Prime member, I didn’t pay for shipping either. :-D

      • dang Vic huge score on independence day. Lol some how free is better than any sale I say. :D

Question though how much is amazon prime?

        • Amazon Prime is $79/year.

You wouldn’t see me in any store on Black Friday- Ever! lol. Anyways i didn’t need anything nor wanted very bad so bought nothing.

    • I bought Battlefield 3(for my PC cant for strike at kand dlc to release :), Batman Arkham City and Assassin’s Creed Revelations for my PS3 (in discount :), I know most of the people is playing Skyrim but I never got into Elder scrolls so AC is my thing I am really curious to know what happened to desmond after Juno killed lucy by taking control of Desmond I think 16 will trick Desmond lol. And bought some this year’s comedy movies (I am actually more action lover)I missed in discount! I am sorry Vic and other Screenrant editors that I bring game topic in movie discussion since your sister doesn’t have Open discussion. Having blast so many games :)

  2. I got to see “The Muppets” yesterday, and it was a glorious experience! Not only did it (for a bit, at least) return me to my younger, more carefree years…It was just a damned funny film. Kermit and his friends are DEFINITELY back in true Muppet form. Oh, and the cameos…ah, the wonderful cameos…

The best compliment I can give to the makers of the film is also the simplest: :)

THAT is how I felt walking out of the theater.

    • Going to see it today. The whole family is looking forward to it.

    • Good to hear that it was good from the tv spots I imagined it would be I’ll definately be checking it out as soon as I get a chance. :)

    • We still don’t have a release date for ‘The Muppets’ in South-Africa…
I’m beginning to think they won’t show it here :(
-Then again, movies like ‘Jack and Jill’ aren’t being released in SA until FEBRUARY NEXT YEAR, so for all I know, I’ll have to wait till March or something to see ‘The Muppets’!

At least we’re getting ‘The Avengers’ in late April… so I guess that makes up for everything ;)

      • You just had to rub it in, didn’t you? :-D

    • Saw it today and completely agree with Archaeon and the review here on Screenrant. Awesome nostalgic, fell-good, fun and funny movie.

  3. My 2 fave muppet episodes:
    1. Muppets w/ Carol Burnett. Gonzo scheduled a dance competition in the middle of the show, hilarious.

    2. Muppets w/ Steve Martin. Show is cancelled due to auditions for new acts. Steve does stand-up and balloon animals.

Muppets w/ the cast of Star Wars is also a fave.

  4. Got me battlefield 3 for xbox 360 $28 killzone 3 $28 ps3 and god of war 3 $15 ps3 and sum $5 Blu-rays everything I went to get I was able to get amid all the chaos. :)

    • Same here vader. I went for like 8 things and got them all.

My prize was Arkham city an revelations. :) plus crazy stupid love and inception for 5 bucks on blu ray wasn’t bad at all. It was a great night!! :D best buy was insane. :D but a good time.

      • Yea I did my shopping at Walmart and boy it was chaotic, great score on arkham city I picked up the collectors edition back wen it was released and the game is amazing.

        • Yeah prices were a steal. Almost couldn’t believe it. Better then last year. I’m gonna play Arkham today. Spent the last 30 hours in revelations. Lol

–Sorry, I just had to say it ;)

  5. I did my black Friday shopping on amazon. I got lord of the rings trilogy, jurassic park trilogy and the original star wars trilogy on blu ray each 65% off or more!

  6. While we’re busy shopping for gifts, what has been the greatest gift you’ve ever received?

Mine was on Christmas ’77, when I found the Atari 2600 under our tree. I helped my dad hook it up with a butter knife, and I played Combat until I got a blister on my thumb. Then I covered it with a Band-Aid and kept playing. (I still have the system and play it whenever I can.)

    • Mine was 1980 when my brother and I also got Atari 2600. We stayed up for 32 straight hours playing. Our parents didn’t know we stayed up that long. :) I wish I still had it.

    • My first guitar in 1991. That changed my life.

    • My greatest gift was redemption, but I know that’s not what you were talking about, so I’ll go with my Dallas Cowboys leather jacket my wife got me about 10 years ago.

  7. If I didn’t have to work today, I wouldn’t have been anywhere NEAR a store. I think it is despicable that places like Best Buy, Target, Kohls, etc. opened at midnight today. No holiday is sacred in this country anymore. It was bad enough the 4am openings, but at least people got to spend SOME time with their families. People claim that the country is in moral decline, it’s no wonder when consumerism usurps a traditional family holiday. I don’t have anything against companies making money, but it’s beyond the point of ridiculousness now. It’s not like the crowds didn’t show up for their cheap, chinese made cr*p at 5am….

    • Andy,

While I don’t disagree with you, the economy is in the toilet, and you have to remember all these retailers are competing against each other for the same customers – so they try to one up each other and tempt that finite number of customers more than other stores.

      • I didnt want to be any part of the sales madness, seeing people act the way they do is too depressing. As far as movies go, I just pulled out some “oldies” from the attic and watched 48 Hours and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

      • How annoying was that, I wanted to go watch Hugo in 3D, thanks to your review here on this site, lol, and unfortunately I picked a theater in the mall… Almost missed the beginning because it took about 30 minutes to get parking because of all of the idiots trying to shop… The theater was completely empty… I literally walked in right when the opening scene started…

      • And then you have people like the woman who pepper sprayed people so she could get to the X-Box 360 first. I hope they get her with assault.

    • Well, Andy, I drove 2 hours to spend time with my family all day, watching football, having a great dinner, laughing, playing, reminiscing, and enjoying each others company. Drove back home two hours. Then myself, my wife and my daughter went as a family black friday shopping at 10 pm Thanksgiving night and we had a blast. Got some good prices on some cheap chinese made crap and spent some quality time together. In other words, IMO, time spent with family is what you make it. Time is time, no matter where it is spent, if it’s together, what’s the difference?

      • That was beautiful…
        I just shed a small tear ;)

But seriously, I agree with you: time spent is time spent… whether you’re with your family watching tv, going to the beach, doing some shopping, or just walking in the park, at least you’re together and spending time with one another.

    • If capitalism is the new religion then the mall becomes church.

  8. WITH ALL these remakes why dont they remake the shadow? if done right [ right actor. right script and director ][ i know it’s asking alot}?
it could be as good as capt america or batman / dark knight if made in dark drama like way , not campy! they are making john carter of mars movie. if holliwood would get some guts it would be a great movie!

    • I was actually going to ask everyone one about that lol, that and the Phantom needs a remake.

    • @ Michael

Imo, instead of remaking/rebooting great movies. They should try remaking/rebooting bad/terrible ones instead.

      • Yeah, like Twilight.

(runs out of the room fast)

  9. Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew at which episode was Frank Darabont no longer a part of Season 2 of The Walking Dead? So far I haven’t really noticed a difference.

  10. I stayed home all day and kicked my feet up. My Christmas shopping was done a week ago. Now Im sitting hear plotting on how to mame Avenger if he brings up The Avengers opeining early in South Africa just one more time.

    • I think we need to get an Occupy South Africa (or Occupy TheAvenger) thingy going. :-P

  11. Im waiting for december to come around to watching my own kind of Christmas movies. In no particular order.

    1. Badder Santa
    2. Adam Sandler’s Eight Crazy Nights
    3. Die Hard
    4. Die Hard 2
    5. Lethal Weapon
    6. Batman Returns
    7. Home Alone
    8. A Christmas Story (24 hrs) on tv that is. No need to buy the dvd.

  12. Anyone have any idea when the Transformers dark of the moon Blu-ray with the special features is going to be released, I also heard there is going to be a trilogy set with a transforming case any truth on that cause I’m curious, I’ve put off gettin the already released Blu-ray cause its got no extras special features deleted scenes the making of etc. etc.

    • Haven’t heard a word. But I did fall in and buy it. Not one single feature but incredible film.

    • I heard around Christmas

  13. Thinking of getting The Pacific for my father-in-law for Christmas. He’s into building his BluRay collection, but he hasn’t expressed interest in this particularly. He likes Band of Brothers.

Anyone want to give me any recommendations for other good BluRay collections that won’t cost me a ton? Or is The Pacific really good (I haven’t watched it).

    • if he likes band of brothers then the pacific is right up his alley and the blu ray is too expensive.

Personally I like ban of brothers more but the pacific story and characters are every bit as great.

    • Saving private Ryan is a great one to add to his collection that is if he doesn’t already have it, another great movie imo is we were soldiers.

  14. I’m hoping Mass Effect and Assassians Creed do well so I can finally see Halo as a movie.

  15. So did u guys here that Q will be in the new Bond movie?

I think the actor playing him is Ben Whisaw…?
