It’s Wednesday again, time for our regularly scheduled open discussion post.
As usual – talk about whatever you like as long as it’s related to movies, TV or Screen Rant itself – just remember to play nice.
Around the web:

Actually M-Cat they are both flawed as written. Dougherty’s take used verbatim would paint the franchise into a corner, much like Watchmen’s story did. It’s the same line of thinking. I suspect Singer was saddled with the dark Phoenix story if he stayed with the production. When Superman became available he saw that as a sign, so to speak, that it would be a better chance to succeed. “Superman Returns” is one of the story possibilities that the “X-Men” franchise would have to face if it were to get out of that corner I spoke of.
Maybe Singer likes the X-Men franchise more than Superman and so he decided to experiment with it and allow someone else the chance to meet the story challenges of the dark Phoenix. Not knowing how Ratner was bound contractually makes it harder to judge his actions. Some are of the opinion that the director can do anything they want. I believe the realities are much different. All too often the director is bound contractually to do certain things, like shoot the script as written. Even in these situations the director is left with some discretion but they don’t get to scrap the story and start from scratch. If your in on the story process from the get go it’s a different ball game.
Still the people that are ponying up the money have a lot of say. They don’t believe they got that rich by being unable to reason problems out and make decisions for the good of the bottom line…
@Joshi
That’s a good suggestion, but after a quick look there’s no quick and easy way to set that up with the plugin I’m using for the pagination feature.

You know, I kinda had a feeling doing that would either be really simple or really complicated. :p
