  1. I’ve heard that WB is still wanting to make Green Lantern 2. Awesome. I enjoyed the film. It’s not on the same level as the recent Batman movies, but it was still fun.

    • @ Ghost

I agree, i plan to see it a 2nd time since i missed the scene during the credits. But imo id have to say it’s hard for to be on the same level w/ Nolan’s Batman films when Nolan’s Approach is more realistic than any other comic book film & Green Lantern is different from Batman. Batman is one of a few popular dark characters in DC comics so it’s hard for anyone to compare to him on film.

    • I don´t want to offend anyone, but IMO the GL movie is more on the level of a Fantastic Four than any other recent CBM. The scenes on Oa looked like a video game. Lively was stiff like a tree (compared to her, Megan Fox is Oscar worthy) and the dialogue could have been written by a 12 year old fan boy. After 45 minutes, I had enough of it…

  2. I gave GL a second chance last night, still just a popcorn flick…..and that’s ok.

As far as the Moscow premiere – I’ll tell you why we’re not covering it: We weren’t bloody invited. If Paramount wanted us to cover it, they should have invited us.

      Vic

      • OK thats all right there ere even many tv Spots
@ Scapegoat there is new trailer for Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 Chipwrecked.

    • Could someone translate this for me please? 8-)

  4. Any word on all the Stephen King “remakes”? From what I remember:

    IT
    The Stand
    and Pet Semetary

    Were on the list.

    • Funny coincident. I just finished reading It yesterday. And I realized how much the movie sucked. I´d love to see a proper adaption.

      • Scape, I’ve always said that the TV movie sucked bigtime. I wont go into any other details as to why, those that actually read the book, and saw the terrible movie already know why LOL.

        • I loved the movie when I was a kid. But nowadays the only things I like are the performances of John Ritter, Tim Curry and the very solid acting of the kids.

  5. When does Wesley Snipes get out of jail? I want another Blade film and seeing him in the Expendables 2 would have been nice.

    • i think he gets out either next yr or the yr after :( he’s a great action star, and i to would love to see both another blade movie and for him to appear in expendables 2.

its worth noting that stallone was considering snipes to play as terry cruise’s character (it wouldn’t have really been fitting anyways, and terry didn’t get alot of screen time (him suddenly appearing to help in the end was stupid to)).

    • 12/10 is when he started his three year sentence. So it appears he will have a nice Christmas present come 2013.

    • As do I. Give me another Blade film so I can forget about that last one.

      • blade 3 wasn’t all that bad, the fights where pretty solid and the only real problem was the supporting cast (though they weren’t total eye sores).
but yes, i think they should just make a sequel to blade 3 (not the prequel to frost they said they’re gonna go with).

        • I can go with that. Blade prequel? I’m with you, they should’t go there.

  6. A question…
Is there any publicity in the US, surrounding the remake of Loft (a belgian film of 2008). The movie was a big hit in Belgium, and i am curious about the remake. It does have some interesting actors (James Marsden, Karl Urban and Wentworth Miller).

Another thing from around here. It seems the world premier of Tintin will be in Brussels, Belgium.

    • Not knocking it but it sounds like a few other movies done in the past (though I cant put my finger on the names) with regards to the only x amount of people could have done it behind a locked door.

And in reading a little it has already been remade by the Dutch (did I say that right?)

Other then you mentioning it this is the first I have heard of it. 2/11 is the breaking news then one actor left? The movie does not supposedly hit theaters until 2013?

      • The movie is being filmed at this moment in the US for the outdoor scenes.
The indoor scenes will be filmed in Belgium.

It did indeed have a dutch-remake. But that seemed a little pointless, as the first film was also in dutch (Belgium original, The netherlands first remake both dutch speaking countries…).

It does seem, it only hits the theaters untill 2013. Great story, i hope it can be succesfull, but look out for remakes!
It does have the same director as the belgian movie, Eric Van Looy.

  7. TF3 seems to be getting alot of early praise from early viewers. when does SR’s review go up ?
i might be watching it at midnight tomorrow, it all depends on whether i’m hammered or not (i’m on break and just ploughed through 3 major projects) :D

    • Our Transformers 3 review will go up probably tomorrow morning. Ben Kendrick will be reviewing it – I’ll be seeing it myself tomorrow night.

      Vic

      • sweet, thanks boss… also, i haven’t seen a review from you in a while (probably b/c i cbb reading who wrote the review most the time). what’s happening boss ?

  8. Im thinkin about about goin to 9:00 or midnight show on one of my night’s off. If i do go,ill be leaving 15, 20 mins early to get good a good seat if i can lol. Top row, middle seat, lol hopfully. I wonder if they continue the franchise without Michael Bay if the film does well. It would great to see the Dinobots.

  9. I just read somthing interesting & funny on Filmjunk.com. It was about fans of Heath Ledger’s Joker performance starting a petition or starting somthing to inform WB that the Joker Character should never be on film again & attempted to be topped by another actor, etc. Talk about nuts lol, as some people thought it would be mad not to have someone else portray the Joker onscreen again.

    • The Joker was around much before Ledger and these crazies and will be around LONG AFTER Ledger and the crazies. :)

      • In fact, the Joker (and the Batman) will probably be around long after we’re ALL gone.

Kind of a sombering thought, lol.

    • Yeah. What if Adam West or Michael Keaton dies?

      • Or even worse… What if Nolan dies? All of those Nolan worshippers will say “Stop producing Batman movies! Nolan is dead, don´t you have any sense of honor?!”

        • @ Scapegoat

Lol, i can see those same nuts start petition for No More Batman Movies if Nolan passed away, or any DC Comic based franchise his name was attached to.

      • @ Scapegoat

I can’t say much about Adam West cause i only seen reruns of his Batman show & last i read online theres still no plans for dvd boxsets of the show coming out despite fan’s request. I admit i have Batman:The Movie & would probly buy the tv series boxsets as collector’s items. Michael Keaton, what can i say? The best Batman on film imo, Bale is great aswell except i just don’t like the voice he uses as Batman.

        • One more thing, id really miss Kevin Conroy, even though he voiced Batman for years but aside from Micheal Keaton i bet he would of been the best Batman on film aswell if he was little younger.

  10. Has anyone else seen the MI:4 trailer yet!?!? It looks pretty wild

  11. Anyone else think that The Dark Knight Rises might have a run time of around to 3 hours?

And on Friday, when I came back home from Spain there was a Green Lantern light up ring and a mask that they on my bed. My parents got it for me thinking that I might come home in time to watch the movie’s midnight premiere, I thought it was sweet of them.

    • Or maybe Ryan stopped by giving up on the movie also…. :D

      • ha ha that was funny

      • Ha-Ha

  12. A quick observation.
Many of my friends and I can’t afford to see more than a few movies per month. We catch up with most movies at our local $3 theater a month or two after opening weekend, or with redbox.
Here’s the problem. After seeing thor, x-men, and GL, my wife wants to see something different. If it’s the same way with other families, maybe that’s part of the reason the ‘guy’ action movies slump after so many come out so quickly.
On a slightly related topic, has anyone seen Midnight in Paris? My movie picks have been superseded for a few weeks after all the comic book movies. I love Paris, and can never take my eyes off Rachel McAdams, but am worried that Owen Wilson will just annoy me in this one.

    • I saw it and enjoyed it.
Then again I saw it in Spanish so it wasn’t the English Owen Wilson but someone dubbing him that didn’t make him sound the way Owen Wilson talks.
But I think that the real reason why the movie worked is because it had a laid back vibe that invited us to sit back and enjoy the setting, the literary cameos, and not think about anything.

And Rachel McAdams’ and January Jones’ dubbed voices were hot.

  13. I recently saw the Dark Knight on tv and i have one question that i did not really notice until now, how does Bruce Wayne get the finger prints from the whole in the wall i cannot for the life of me figure that out and it has been bothering me for a while. I cant let little things like this go and i need the answer so my i can go back to not worrying about it. By the way what a stupid movie.

  14. I just started Game of thrones the book and I watched the first two episodes and I am hooked.I’am on page 250 and I’am going to read a bit more before I watch the third episode.cannot wait for the second season but could someone tell me without spoiling the book or show is the second
season going to be the second book or are thy still doing game of thrones

    • Yeah, the second season will be the second book, Clash of Kings.

I’m hoping there will be a third season as I personally think the third book was the best so far.

Glad you started reading the books, everybody who likes the show should! :)

  15. Will transformers 3 be worth seeing?

  16. I have a feeling that if Captain America fails to generate decent B.O. numbers we will start to see a rapid decline in comic films (other than TDKR or The Avengers). Which to me is a good thing. Not because I don’t like comic films, I just find them to be over saturated right now. Too much of one thing becomes monotonous after a while.

    • I’m not particularly optimistic that Captain America will do any better than the Thor movie, but it won’t do any worse, either, I believe.

I think it’s too soon to tell whether there is a falling interest in comic book movies or not, but I do agree that there has probably been too many comic book films this summer.

Maybe Marvel and Warner Bros. should try to start to spread out their movies a bit more rather than trying to fit all of them in the same season.

      • I would love to see superhero movies in the spring and around the holiday season.

        • Yeah, I just think they need to be spread out more as well. It just seems like a lot in one season, especially when they are all origin stories. It almost becomes like studios competing and at that point to me it loses it’s artistic integrity (IMO).

Don’t think I would like em in the holiday season though, well at least between Thanksgiving and Christmas. To many other films I usually wanna see more are out then.

  17. I think the race for the infinty gauntlet should be in the avengers the race between the skrulls and thanos! And it wouldn’t hurt if galactus was shown completely in the fantastic four reboot!
