  1. Actually just like I said you have no idea what they are there for. Do you make people fill out a survey before they rob you to make sure they are taking the DVD player and are not going to harm you? The moment some one is trying to break in to my house I’m reaching for my gun because I have no idea what they are going to do. That’s the point.

  2. Also I hate to quote Marcus from Terminator Salvation but, “If you point a gun at someone, you better be ready to use it.”

There are some crazy MFo’s out there that are high on PCP, drugs etc. Pointing a gun at that kinda person, well you better have the safety off.

I’ve had my stint in law enforcement and there’s one thing I can tell you, unless you have experienced the rush of adrenalin in the heat of a life and death situation you don’t know how your going react.

Ever wonder why some reports of shootings tell of people unloading the entire magazine into the perp even when the first shot killed him? Its because after that first shot your mind goes into a state of shock. Most times the shooter doesn’t even remember pulling the trigger after the first shot. Its an adrenalin reflex.

Cops go through the same thing. In most big cities after a cop has used his weapon he’s transferred to areas where he might have to use his weapon again. This is because until the officer uses his weapon in the line of duty they don’t know how he will react. Its known in law enforcement as the lead test. Once officers pass the lead test they’re considered veterans.

  3. Yes Daniel I agree but my comment was addressing your comment.

“With that said I would shoot someone for my DVD player.”

I’m not debating your position on home defense, but that comment struck me as odd.

  4. I have no trouble using my gun if I have to. Also I would add

“There are some crazy MFo’s out there that are high on PCP, drugs etc. Pointing a gun at that kinda person, well you better have the safety off.”

That helps my point a lot. You never know who just broke in to your house and if you think “Oh I’ll just let him grab the DVD player and leave” you can end up very dead. There really truly is no way of knowing.

I guess I have to apologize for this I forgot it’s 2009 so a lot of people can’t handle it. My DVD player hell my air freshener is more important to me than anyone who is willing to break in to my house. If you grab my DVD player my gun will be pointed at your head. It’s that simple. If that doesn’t scare you off and you want to pretend you are tougher than a gun my finger will be pulled back. I think my stance is clear.

  5. “I guess I have to apologize for this I forgot it’s 2009 so a lot of people can’t handle it.”

    What’s that mean?

  6. Have you ever shot someone Daniel?
    ^
Criminals that are high on PCP sometimes don’t go down that fast…and no matter how you handle the gun at the range, that’s all thrown out the window when the time comes and you have 2 seconds to point and shoot.

  7. That means it’s 2009 and more people care about the criminal than the victim these days. It’s 2009 and it’s more important that we help the poor little thief instead of taking care of the people who were robbed.

By the way sorry if it came out that way, but it wasn’t aimed at you just society in general.

  8. I haven’t shot someone, but I have stabbed someone with out a moment of hesitation and I have pointed the gun completely ready to pull the trigger.

  9. “more people care about the criminal than the victim these days”

Well I would agree but those people are congress, lawyers, and gun control fanatics.
They seem to hold honest citizens accoutable for defending themselves while ppl in government have 0 accountability.

    There’s the crime!
Its right out in the open. They just sentenced a guy out here in LA for wiretapping hollywood celebs, what about the unconstitutional bush now obama era of wiretapping of Americans.
Its a double standard and its bs.
The term accountability has two hypocritical definitions in our country.
When WE do it, its ok. When YOU do it, its a crime…

  10. Lol… were they looking the wrong way at your dvd player… Gheesh.

I’ve personally shot thousands of people but I was playing on my Xbox and they were all space aliens, or terrorists. Lol.

  11. Changing the subject a tad, I was talking to a friend of mine on Friday who works at Paramount Studios.

He told me that the GI.Joe screening about a month ago went horribly wrong and that the majority of the crowd came out laughing.

I’m guessing thats why they fired the director. I have a feeling the movie is going to tank.

  12. Yeah there was just a new trailer released for gi Joe and I don’t think it helped it’s cause at all. I agree that it probably will bomb. Question is will it beat terminator salvation?

  13. Hard to tell. It might bomb worse than “Land of the Lost.” :-)

“Lol. Well I’d love to see the look on the DA’s face when you tell him “he was taking my dvd player”.

The “in fear of my life” defense might not work in that case… Dvd players are what $50 bucks.”

1st of all, it wouldn’t be shooting someone FOR the DVD player, it’s shooting someone who have decided to break into an occupied home. So you don’t know if they have anything planned for if they ran into the occupants, ultimately it’s self defense.

And 2nd of all, due to the reasoning I just stated above, in the state where I live, the law states that if someone breaks into an occupied home, the occupants can safely assume that the criminal intended them harm and is legally allowed to use defensive force including deadly force.

The owners of the home should never be held accountable for what a home invader caused. What this law does is protect law-abiding citizens like you and I from being charged and put through the scrutiny of our justice system because some idiot decided to break into your home and you decided to not be a victim. I agree with this law 100%.

    @Daniel F

I agree with you that an air freshener is worth more than the life of some scumbag that breaks into your home where you and your family sleeps at night.

  15. I don’t get gun rhetoric…Sounds as bad as every other fundamental out there..

  16. The state where I live is not so great Ken. I can be sued if someone breaks in to my house and falls through a glass table.

  17. The laws are different here in California Ken.
If I shot someone (already) in my house and they were unarmed I would have to have fake mental trauma to get away with it. He would have to have a weapon or be vastly stronger than me for me to pull off the “fear of my life” defense.
    California has some bs laws.

  18. California are run by people who care more for criminals than you. They’d rather read in the newspaper that you were found dead in your home than read that a criminal was injured or killed while trying to harm someone else. Having convicted criminals be forced to work in prisons is cruel and unusual punishment, and law abiding citizens defending themselves is morally wrong, remember… :-D

  19. The criminals start having trouble sleeping and they get Serta mattresses in California.

“gun rhetoric?” So saying you don’t want to sit there and be a victim is rhetoric now? So you suggest we put our trust in criminals to not harm us as long as we cooperate right?

I forgot who said this, but I remember someone saying something along the lines of: “sure you can call the police, and we will show up to take photos of your body, but the best thing is if you have a means to defend yourself.” And this was not an anti-cop statement, it was said by a cop, it’s just statistical fact, cops can’t be everywhere at all times. Even if a unit is “close by” it WILL take a few minutes at the VERY LEAST before they will show up, and if someone intended to harm you, it will take much less than a few minutes.

Think about it, you call 911, you will be connected to a “911 call-taker” which will take down your information, and submit said information to a 911 dispatcher (most of the time these are two different people, you don’t actually talk to the dispatcher). So that process already ate up an entire minute (that’s if you don’t get put on hold when you first call due to call volume), dispatcher then puts out a call for anyone in the area to respond, units who are not busy and who are in the area respond, that’s another 20 seconds gone. Then the likelihood that a unit will be really really close is pretty slim, so travel time will be about 2-4 minutes, where are we at, like 6 minutes already? And it could be longer. Most likely you’re not going to see red and blue lights outside your home for about 10-12 minutes. How long exactly, does it take for a guy to walk up to you and chop you in the head with a machete or shoot you in the face with the gun he bought in some alley prior to breaking into your home? What about the rest of your family? Is it really worth it to risk that just so you can be all proud to proclaim that you’re not some “crazy gun nut?” Call us what you want, say that we’re full of nothing but rhetoric, in the end of the day, who’s more prepared? Since when do you prepare for the best? You prepare for the worst, always.

Here’s some more rhetoric for you:

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Go ahead and prove them wrong.

I’ve driven accident free for many years now, so I guess I should disable my airbags and not wear my seatbelt then right? Psh, why would I need that, what am I, some crazy airbag and seatbelt nut? Those wackos, I am so much better than them…

  21. @Daniel

I remember something about them complaining about crunchy or smooth peanut butter in their sandwiches, so they were forced to change them or give them the option, lmao! :-D

  22. still sounds like a lot more rhetoric Ken..and my post was rhetorical ..but thanks anyway..

  23. A not so funny story for you Ken. My mother was in her house one night and heard yelling outside. She peeked out to see a guy yelling at his girl friend and she was screaming because he was coming at her and throwing stuff at her. Now my mom lives in a small town so at most it takes 7 mins to go from one side to the other and with my mom being smack dab in the middle really only is about a 3 to 4 min drive if your as far as you can be. So she called 911 telling them there was a woman screaming in the street and a man was attacking her. 25 mins later the cops showed up. It turns out there was some sort of jurisdiction issue and when my mom was on the phone they actually asked what side of the street it was because the side of the street would decide if the local cops or the county sheriff would be called. By the time the cops showed up the guy had hit the girl four times and about 5 guys came out and already beat the guy up and were holding him for when the cops actually showed.

  28. It is a good open discussion though your an episode behind on your show. The Drunk daniel episode has passed though I believe they are showing a repeat in about 45 mins.

  29. @Daniel F

I hope she was ok, and not to knock on cops, but they really can’t be everywhere so it’s pretty dumb to try to rely on them to “save” you, when it will probably end up that the cops will have to “solve the crime” after it has already occurred. I’m sorry, but whether or not the cops catch my killer doesn’t matter much to me, I’d rather not be a victim in the first place… That’s just me though, I guess I’m weird like that…
