  1. Twilight uugggghhhhh, please don’t go there. there is already a post about twilight from the mtv awards.

    @evie

that’s exactly what i was thinking about my dvr. i don’t know what I’m going to do all summer before i pass out at night. i usually fill it up with NCIS but nothing goes on during the summer. I’m going to try and record as many episodes as possible of NCIS and The Mentalist. Love those shows.

  2. @BJ, well right now with the exception of Superman and X-Men the direction of Spider Man, Hulk, and of course Iron Man is great.

I’d like to pretend that Terminator Salvation never happened and see Cameron direct Terminator 5, more than anything else.

  3. I haven’t seen The Mentalist yet. I wish I could catch up on eps on Hulu but NO. CBS isn’t a member of it.

  4. Since Marvel is working on the Avenger’s movie for 2012, I predict that we will see both an Iron Man 3 and Incredible Hulk 2 in 2015. Don’t none of you guys give me that crap about the world coming to an end in 2012! The Mayans are wrong!

  5. @evie

they advertise The Mentalist as the #1 show on TV. I’m not sure if it is or not but I didn’t believe it was that good. I had to see it and IMO it is pretty good but not the best show.

  6. Hey, Vic, is that a new pic of you at the top of the post? Cool. :)

  7. nobody said a word about my comments about batman vs superman movie or my concern towards Sam Raimi character driven spiderman movies.

  8. @BJ
Well, our president says that the world will succumb to global warming if we don’t inflate our tires or change to some light-bulb that lasts about a month or turning off our air conditioners when it’s like 100 degrees or something. 2012 is when we elect a new president (or keep the current one) and maybe the earth will just give up if we elect the wrong person. :-)

  9. @BJ
The new Batman movies won’t work in the Superman universe because they are based more in reality.

  10. “and maybe the earth will just give up if we elect the wrong person.”

Which is why Sarah Palin should stay out of the White House.

  11. As long as the two party system that controls the media is in power, we will always elect the wrong person…

Since JFK, when has this country elected the right person ??

  12. Here’s an idea. Let’s boycott all the reboots Hollywood is making. Boycott the crow, boycott predator, boycott total recall, etc.

  13. I am a writer. I have new ideas for the next blockbuster hit, Hollywood you need to think outside the box. That “Next Big Thing” you’re looking for lives outside of Hollywood, California.

  14. The cartoons today are not as great as the cartoons of the 80′s and 90s. Of course there are a few exceptions(Invader Zim, Samurai Jack, Justice League, DragonballZ). Everything else is dull. I am glad that they are going to end Hannah Montana. I am tired of that show. Nickelodeon needs cooler live action shows (Ned Declassified and Drake and Josh were the last two good shows to end). I predict in the next decade children programming will be cool again. Saturday morning cartoons will be fun again.

  15. @790
“Since JFK, when has this country elected the right person ??”

Uhhh …. Ronald Reagan ring a bell?
If you look at his presidency in a totally unbiased way you cannot dispute this. The results speak for themselves.

    @BJ

Dragonball Z was actually produced in the 80′s and early 90′s.
    BTW I also like:
    Fairly Odd Parents
    Avatar
    Penguins of Madagascar
    The Barnyard (The Series)

Sadly not many more current ones for me.

Yes … I am old and I love cartoons.
    NOW GET OFF MY LAWN!

  16. Superman returns was a great movie, I hope they come to their senses and continue that franchise…

    -bullet on eye, classic!

  17. Can we PLEASE not turn this into another politcal thread. There are plenty of blogs and websites dedicated to just that kind of stuff.

  18. Sorry about that Andy. I was just joking around but I guess you can’t do that with politics.

  19. @John…

No problem, I realize you were joking. However, as soon as one person starts on one party or political position, all hell breaks loose on here. I get to see that stuff on the news all day, I like to escape on here and talk movies and tv!

Speaking of TV, I am absolutely LOVING my Panny plasma. I was watching the hockey playoffs in HD last night and it was UNREAL!! I can hardly wait to see what TDK looks like Blu-Ray (after I cough up the dough for the player, that is!).

  20. @ BJ Jones & 2012

Funny how the Mayans couldn’t predict their own extinction…

So when are they going to make a Thundarr the Barbarian movie :)

  21. @Manowar..

Right after the Thundercats movie that has Gary Coleman cast as Snarf. :P

  22. Actually maybe have Gary Coleman & Webster play the young twin Cats and the Mini-me actor play Snarf… :)

On a serious note. when will we have another Flash Gordon or Buck Rogers Movie? I wonder if J.J. Abrams would be interested.

  23. @Manowar…

As long as they don’t make them all dark and gritty, I would be interested in seeing a modern telling of both those movies. I loved the originals when I was a kid and to see what they can do with today’s technology would be fun.

  24. @Manowar

    You’re right about the mayans.

  25. @ Oscar:

Congrats man! Wish good luck to your new own family…

    @ BJ Jones:

Maybe some sequels to Thor & Cap in there too? Or heck, even for the Avengers… that would be cool.

  26. @ Oscar

    Congrats man.

    @790

Too bad JFK wasn’t the “right person” either, that’s all we needed was a mobster in power, lol.

@BJ, man, you’ve been sitting on all of these random thoughts just waiting for the open discussion post haven’t you?? lol It’s one after the other!

  27. That was his brother Ken. The course of our nation was terminally compromised on the day he was killed…
But hey what’s the latest on Batman?

  28. Forget Batman, I’m reading the reviews on “Land of the Lost” and it sounds like Farrell has tainted another potential great comedy.

Screw the writers too for caving into his girly whims…
    ^
I’m still going to see it but that’s because its free.

  29. At the risk of sounding like a broken record. Am I the only person who misses 80′s/90′s style action movies? Everything has to be so realistic and sanitised these days, it’s goten boring. That’s why I hope The Expendables, Jonah Hex and Predators are huge money makers next year, so the 10′s can be as good as the 80′s and 90′s and I can forget the girlie man decade of the 00′s ever happened.
