Hey Vic!
I know a few casting types.I think if you shaved the beard and lost the specs you would be a shoe in for the next Charles Xavier! Sorry, but you’re just too nice a chap to go for Lex Luthor…

Props for running and maintaining such a terrific site, sir! It’s the first (okay, okay…SECOND)Place I go to after my morning java ;)

Many thanks for your tireless efforts!

we/they need to find a superhero character for Jason Statham to play . He’s done some good action stuff in a lot of his movies but I’ve been wracking my brain trying to think of what hero he could play.
any suggestions ?

@nowhereman LOL, thanks, bro. I’ll NEVER shave my goatee. :-)

@RastaZen Doesn’t Statham ALREADY play superheroes? ;-)

Haha, Vic, you have aq point on Jason.
I don’t know, there are a couple good ones he could do. Iron Fist maybe.

Not for nothin…but I think Statham would have made a much better Daredevil than the guy with the big head…

How about The Punisher? Or Judge Dredd, as long as the helmet never comes off. Hawkman? Moon Knight? Midnighter from The Authority? Anyone fairly violent, basically.

Despite more releases coming in August will “The Dark Knight” pretty much end “super hero Summer?”

July 16th, 2008
Yup, it’s the big finish for Summer 2008.

@ Vic , Statham has played some pretty far out characters , its true but I’d like to see him play an established comic book character. I know DC and Marvel pretty well but I’m not as well versed in the other companies
( Dark Horse , etc ,etc… )
I like the Iron Fist idea ( great character ) although I could still see Ray Park doing that one.
Hawkman is another excellent suggestion.

@ Dentist ,
I looked up Midnighter on Wikipedia and he looks like a pretty cool character. I couldn’t quite figure out what his powers/abilities are.
What’s his deal?

I’m not 100% clear on that myself! It’s been a few years since I read The Authority - it started getting censored and delayed and I kind of lost track of it. If I remember, he’d had implants which enhanced all his natural abilities (strength, agility, healing etc: a bit like Wolverine), including a secondary heart and a neural network which could calculate the outcome of any combat scenario. “I already know what you’re going to do,” he’d say to an opponent, before quite literally taking them apart.

He was also gay, which I thought would be an interesting one for JS!

Actually I’ve just had a look at that Wikipedia entry myself, and it’s all there. I’d forgotten he could turn his pain receptors off and survive without oxygen for short periods as well.

I’d like to, but it’s just a tease with either no way to get in, or I’m too dim to figure out the Open Sesame trick.

My brother just caught The Dark Knight over in Singapore earlier today. He said that it was an ass-kicking masterpiece. I’m not sure if he’s saying that as a fanboy or if it truly was that good. I tried getting tickets for it tonight but wasn’t able to - the cinemas at my place no longer have the tickets available.

Looks like whether it’s good or great, it will deliver big-time at the box office nonetheless.

Just wanna say that the new 24 prequel trailer was done by the FOX promotional dept.

It looks hack and the voice over is craptacular.

The producers of 24 were not happy with it…..
FOX should let 24 do the trailers in-house from now on!

I’ll be in front of the screen to see those around 12 AM. But first I’ve got to see “The Dark Knight.”

I think the Old Man forgot he already watched Iron Man and Hulk ?

Maybe his name refers to Commander Adama’s nickname ? And he’s really not old ? ;-)
