It’s Wednesday, so that means it’s time for our weekly discussion post – where YOU determine the topics!

As usual – talk about whatever you like as long as it’s related to movies, TV or Screen Rant itself.

  1. Has everyone heard about the latest Iron Man 2 rumor? Apparently they’re lowballing Mickey Rourke, only offering him 250,000. I’m getting a bit worried about this movie. I didn’t mind the switch from Terrence Howard to Don Cheadle, but now the news of Sam Jackson possibly not returning and now the Mickey Rourke stuff? I hope Marvel gets their act together, we’ve got a ways to go before Avengers, and things have to go very smoothly if that’s going to be a success. Thoughts?

  2. PS: My apologies about the profanity

  3. @Joe

    No worries – I “scrubbed” it. :-)

Don’t think I’ve seen you around here before, welcome to the site! You’ll find we’re big Iron Man fans around here.

  4. hopefully these are just early efforts by the studio to save $$$.
When they first started talking about a sequel there were rumors that : (A) Favs would not direct the sequel
or (B) he WOULD direct but they were offering a lot less money.

Perhaps they ( the studio ) are merely haggling again ; hoping to contain the cost of this sequel.
and perhaps they (the studio ) merely got lucky with the 1st film and they don’t actually know what they’re doing.

I do still hope that things go well for IM2.

  5. I still have issues over the main villian-Crimson Dynamo. This is going to feel like a robot vs. robot kind of thing. Fav should go with using Justin Hammer . See now that most people know that Iron Man is Tony Stark via Tony saying so at the end of the movie, is would fitthe story line well if Hammer hired people to steel some of Stark’s technology via the Ten Rings terrorist group, it would be kind of cool if he created a super powered robot called Firepower to take down Iron Man since he also wants to put Stark Industries out of business so that his business can prevail. And he knows that Tony Stark is Iron Man. This way you have something that both Warmachine and Iron Man can take down together as a team . Now I know that is Robot vs. Robot, but atle the human element of business man vs. business man and the robot vs. robot.

Nick Fury should have most of the screen time at the end of the movie. Black Widdow can be the messenger to Tony Stark to lead him to his appartment to have a meeting with Fury-because Tony has been avoiding meetings with Nick Fury-because he is just typical Tony Stark.

  6. Yeah we already had the Robot vs. Robot angle in the first movie, I hope they don’t go that way again

  7. If Sammy Jaxson doesnt do the sequal it will be .. its just out of the question!

So thats not going to happen!

  8. Any Babylon 5 fans out there?

Word is that J. Michael Straczynski said that he would be willing to do a Babylon 5 movie. We just ran a quick story on it, if anyone is interested:

    http://www.movieguys.org/movie-news/babylon-5-coming-back-as-a-major-motion-picture/

  9. What I read was that he will only do More Babylon 5 if he get a big movie budget, and that it was unlikely after lost tales.

I myself is all for more B5, love that stuff…

  10. here is the link to the original story. It was an exclusive scoop by our friends at

    http://sknr.net/2009/01/19/warner-bros-may-be-ready-to-bring-babylon-5-to-the-big-screen/

  11. They say it was confirmed in their original post, but we couldn’t confirm that.

But it is awesome news that at least JMS is open to coming back to B5 and doing a movie.

  12. Has anyone here heard about “The Gospel according to Jimmy”

The movie is supposedly about a pool cleaning clone of Jesus who in some way helps republicans get back into the white house.

The guy trying to make this movie apparently wants to cast Seth Rogen in the role of pool cleaning Jesus clone.

  13. I think that $250,000 should be enough for an actor. Think about this, all they do is say a few lines and CUT. Thats it. They might put on a suit but its usally from the waist up. They arent do any stunts. Just watch the making of the movies on DVD. Its all done by computer or stunt men getting there buts thrown around the room. I think for Mickey Rourke to take a role like this right now would even more increase his come back in Hollywood.

  14. I just wrote a full post on the Marvel vs. actor salaries thing.

    Check the home page.

  15. I love B5, own all the DVD sets but I was disappointed in the Lost Tales movies.

  16. I keep wondering if Marvel is scheduling a lot of CGI and that is why they are low-balling the actors; more CGI, more money.

  17. Mmm…not sure how I feel about a The Dark Knight sequel. There is no way anyone can replace, or do a better job, of the Joker like Heath Ledger did,so I not counting on being blown away by the next film, if there is one.
Now, as for Alice in Wonderland, Coraline, and Frankenweenie…I am stoked about those movies!I’m a big fan of Tim Burton and can’t wait to see johnny Depp acting crazy as The Mad Hatter.XD
Let’s see…as for tv…just recently I got into Mystery Science Theatre…which is hilarious! The movie was so funny that i couldn’t stop laughing! Now I getting some of the episode dvds through Netflix to watch.

Quote from Mystery Science Theatre 3000: The Movie: “Oh My God! My Waffle!” XDDDDD

    Priceless.
