As usual – talk about whatever you like as long as it’s related to movies, TV or Screen Rant itself – just remember to play nice. icon smile Open Discussion December 4, 2013

  1. I am the bat.

    • And I’m the man.

      • “of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and heir
        of nothing in particular”

        • Good o’ The Smiths. ;)

  2. Erm…can anybody help me please? Would just like to ask a few questions, if that’s alright? Who are the moderators here for the comment section? Just wondering. All of SR contributors? The author of said article? Or just the owner of the site? And are there stated rules/etiquette or banned words?

      • Ah, I see….

        Thank you! :D

        • don’t piss them off or you might wake up with a horse head in your bed

          • “He eatta da head, and give it a bad review!”

            • That’s from Simpsons BTW. When Homer was a food critic.

        • Anytime.

And welcome to the OD. The friendliest place on ScreenRant.

  3. I’m not sure if it’s the same nationwide, but Marcus Theaters does $5 movies every Tuesday with FREE POPCORN! It’s been a pretty sweet deal. The last three weeks I’ve seen Thor 2, Catching Fire, and Frozen. That’s right. Grown man went to go see Frozen without any kids along.

It’s a very cute and fun movie. If you do have kids, I strongly suggest you bring them with otherwise people look at you funny.

    Good day fellow ranters.

    • Yeah Baby!!! i Love the $5 movie/popcorn thing! up here in Wisconsin however, it was only thru November…

      • I’m in Wisconsin too! Up in Appleton it is still going on and free popcorn stops at the end of the year.

        • Cool! the Sheboygan theater is pretty small, and don’t make much money, so they stopped giving out the free popcorn… i don’t know how long our $5 dollar deal will last…

    • That’s a pretty sweet deal. Here in AZ, at Harkins Theaters, they have a loyalty cup which gives you $1.50 refills all year. Cup is only $5. And a t-shirt ($15) that gives you free popcorn all year. Their matinée tickets are only $7 so the overall package throughout the year is pretty dope.

    • Don’t be ashamed man, Frozen was pretty great. It was definitely a very funny show and the music wasn’t bad either.

I think Megaplex Theaters do that Tues nights, the matinee all day thing. I’m from UT btw.

    • i live by, and my daughter works at, Carmike cinemas just 1/2 mile away, and they have $5 prices every day between 4-5:30. she can get in free with 1 other person on her off days sun after 6 -thursdays. up grade for imax/3D. we saw gravity in 3D [non-imax] for $3 each.

  4. Two things my fellow ranters: Why is Arrow not going to be part of the DCU? and Is the Spartacus series worth watching?

    • I think because Arrow has already established a No Super Powers rule that would be inconsistent with the DCU that was kicked off by the most superpower-ridden character in their portfolio. ;)

Can’t help you with the second question.

      • Wouldn’t that be Martian man-hunter? lol that kinda sucks cause I think it would be cool to see Amell on the big screen…

      • The no super power rule when out the window when they added The Flash.

        • Oh, did they? I have stopped watching a while ago (Season 1). It didn’t really grab me and at some point watching the next episode felt more like a chore than something to look forward to.

          • The Second Season got WAY better! the first season kinda bored me…

          • @TheLostWinchester:

You should get back to watching it, you don’t even have to watch any Season 1 eps you missed, just start again with this season.

The upcoming episode that Barry Allen gets introduced deals with a villain with super strength so maybe they have relaxed the super powers rule (or just bought into the whole PED trend :) ).

            • Thanks. I’ll give it a shot. ;)

        • went* oops lol

    • I think Arrow should be part of the DCU. I hate continuity errors and I think the involvement between TV and film should be connected. That’s why I was excited for AoS… until I watched the show and then disliked it.

      • I agree. I’ve been saying this too. People kept saying that it’s already been denied but when you actually read what that Arrow producer said, he didn’t confirm nor deny it. Just said that WB higher-ups hadn’t approached them.

  5. Can’t wait for The Wolf of Wall Street. Scorsese is my favorite director of all-time and I’m so excited about the early rave reviews it’s getting.

  6. Just read over at Comicbookmovies Gal Gadot was Wonderwoman if so i am not interested at all in this new Superman film Wonderwoman is not a toothpick she is a curvy Amazon warrior, ok rant over. Now I was thinking of how they might one day remake the terminator franchise by having Robots from the future time travel and control the past undetected by most people. Also read that the script for X-Force will please fans from x-force comics, I say as long as either Archangel, Gambit, Cyclops, Beak, and Rogue are in it I am good to go.

    • I agree. When I heard that I immediately thought that she is way too thin for that role. Unless she does some serious bulking (muscle and a bit of fat) she would be a complete miscast. Lets wait and see.

  7. “Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”

    • She spent two years in the Israeli Army.

      Sold and sold.

      • She looks great for the part. But she is so thin. Not like its hard to change in Hollywood when its your job to work out and look beautiful.

  8. I was wrong about Wonder Woman. She’s going to be in MOS2. I was wrong.

  9. I think Amazon, I do not picture Gal sorry just do not, I picture Beyoncé or someone built similar. I will wait and see how she looks in costume.sometimes the look is the most important thing about a character or is what make the character what it is,look at deadpool from x-men . I mean Amazon women where six feet tall, Curvy women, who could hold their own. I might just stick with Marvel lol.

    • Beyonce is 4 inches shorter than Gal, bud. I think she will do just fine.

    • I’m not sure where people keep getting the idea that Amazon WARRIORS were curvy or voluptuous or big-breasted…

Amazon WARRIORS were athletic in their builds…lean, strong…and often missing a breast to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their archery skills.

Yes, Gadot IS skinny. So? Actors and actresses are constantly building up or toning down their bodies for roles…I have NO doubt she will too.

      • @ Archaeon

You sir, are 100% correct, and Gadot is a fine choice. I must say, I am more excited now for this movie, even than I was before. I like the way they are introducing other characters in this movie before they get their own projects. This is shaping up to be the movie I’ve been waiting for from DC.

One last thought on Gadot being “skinny” as others have said. You are correct, actors change their bodies all the time for roles. Check out Cavil in The Immortals, he certainly doesn’t look like Superman. Or Hemsworth in Rush, he looks like anything but Thor. She will be fit and ready for the role, as will Affleck. I’m on board.

  10. BTW…

WHERE has Rocco been the last several weeks?

    • Great question, I miss his poetry.

  11. It isn’t so much the height thing that gets me but the curves and weight they did the same thing with Emma Frost in first class wonder why she is not in DOFP lol. This is the last I post on this they made their minds up we just sit back and see how this film goes.

  12. What’s one unique film anyone has seen before?

  13. A couple thoughts…

Under the CONTACT US page, SR has an email address for stuff regarding each area of the site. the comments@screenrant.com email doesn’t work, and just bounces back.

The other thought: when in SR going to implement an “Edit” or “Delete” function in the comments? It’s kind of weird that you can’t remove or edit your own content once it’s posted. Is there a reason SR has it set up that way, or did they just not implement it?

  14. Hi SR,
I said the same thing as Ken said about the contact us page.
I was trying to ask a question about why no Homefront movie review?
