As usual – talk about whatever you like as long as it’s related to movies, TV or Screen Rant itself – just remember to play nice.
so excited till 12 December : Pacific Rim trailer, 14 December : 9 minutes long star trek trailer
What about THE HOBBIT!!
I can’t wait to see that this Wednesday.
Gotta say I don’t really care. It leaves me strangely cold.
Gabriel Macht for the new Barman.
I personally would pick Thomas Gibson for Batman, but people always get on me about his age so I guess he’s out of the question.
Karl Urban could make a good Batman.
he did do a great Judge Dredd
Totally! He has the chin. This probablysounds wierd, but one of the major attractors about Bale was that he had an awesome chin. Likewise, Heath Ledger, if he had not been the Joker would have been an awesome Batman.
I recently read that Nolan originally wanted Ledger for Batman.
Yep, Ledger auditioned during the casting for BatBegins but had decided already that he did’nt want the job. So, Nolan gave him the Joker.
I read it was cillian Murphy who Nolan originally was gonna have as Batman in Batman Begins but chose Bale instead.
Imo, Nicolson had the chin & a better grin to him as Joker.
Also had a better Joker laugh.
I would love to see Urban as Batman. Hearing him in Dredd and also seing ony part of his face reminded of Batman.
Never thought about it but you’re right, Urban could make a great Batman.
Not so sure if he’d be able to pull off Bruce Wayne that well though… Bale was a damn good Bruce Wayne.
Jim Caviezel imo would be a great Batman/Bruce Wayne a older and wiser Batman joining the Justice League
Watched the first five or six episodes of White Collar. Nothing spectacular, but it is a fun show. I like the characters and the overarching mystery in intriguing.
I could not focus on Gabriel Macht as Batman.
When he is Bruce Wayne, I would focus in on the mole…nah
Who is more awesome?
James Mcavoy or Chris Pine?
McAvoy is a clear winner in my book. Pine has Trek and Unstoppable, while McAvoy has X-Men, Wanted, Atonement, guest spot on Shameless and a few others.
I like McAvoy but I prefer Pine, Star Trek is one of my favourite movies and he is awesome as Kirk, think he will make a great Jack Ryan as well
McAvoy has Welcome to the Punch and Filth out next year so my opinion may change, so indecisive lol
Pine reminds me of this guy I know who’s kind of an a-hole…
Plus, McAvoy’s a much better actor IMO – or at least, he’s had more opportunity to show some range.
The screenrant guys look at rotten tomatoes alot, but do you find rotten tomatoes credible?
Absolutely. I am a member and the overall percentage and critical summary does respectively give a solid statement that few to none can argue with
To an extent, i mean just cause a movie has 94% it could average a 7.1 our of 10
There are many a score on rotten I disagree with and because different critics review different movies with different tastes or intentions, one could question the consistency or validity of scores.
I trust 75% of Rotten Tomatoes most of the time, but I do see where you have a point and that there are a lot of critics who don’t know what they’re talking about.
The reviews are essentially what percent of critics gave it over a 60%
I find their % scores pretty credible (I haven’t disagreed with an overall score so far – except TDKR which I think should have gotten a higher overall rating), but since everybody has different tastes and opinions, I could see why some wouldn’t trust RT.
… but we all know ScreenRant’s reviews are the best way to know if a movie’s worth watching or not
“but we all know ScreenRant’s reviews are the best way to know if a movie’s worth watching or not” I agree with this, I never read reviews, but the few times I do, it’s at Screenrant.
I wonder if the star trek villan isn’t Kahn, or Gary Mitchell, but somebody else all together?
Rotten Tomatoes is pretty credible, imo, due to the fact that they poll multiple critics and average their scores.
Do you believe theyll stop making dvds and only produce blue rays in the future or will the two coexist?
DVD’s will likely die out eventually. Probably not anytime soon, but I do believe it will ween itself out little by little
I think they will continue 2 coexist for a little while longer, but eventually like the VHS tapes the DVDs will slowly fade away.
They are continuing 2 manufacture products towards HDTV and blu rays are a vital part of that trend.
Now does anyone out there think that at some point they will find a way 2 bring Imax capabilities 2 your own home? Seriously.
Im still waiting for the time they bring Imax to my state!!! seriously, there is not one imax screen in the entire state of montana.
Bluray will have a shorter life than DVD
Consider most movies can be downloaded to a computer, Iphone, I pad, stored on a mass media.
You can take an entire harddrive and bring 1000 movies with you, without as much as it weighing more than 3 lbs.
They will soon but the Blu-Ray disc contents in the cloud and that will add to the production, because there is no raw material needed to make or produce Disc.
Anyone think John Hamm would make a great Mr. Fantastic?
Oooooh good choice!! I’d watch Jon Hamm in anything playing any role, he’s awesome!
someone on here asked if he could play batman, and i could see it.
Hes my pick for new batman, hes perfect.
I see him as more of a Two-Face, but Batman would most certainly work as well
What is your personal fav christmas movie
mine, Jingle All They Way.
Its all about someone trying to get that one gift to make a kid happy and all the misadventures and bleakness of the holiday in an entertaining adventure.
Plus Phil Hartman was in it before he died and he plays the most delightful of a**holes.
