LUCAS directing Superman? That is a BAD BAD BAD idea to whomever wrote that!! We'd have Lex Luthor telling Lois that he's her father and Jimmy Olsen would have a Jamaican accent and the actors would all act like they're wooden statues! NO NO NO!! Peter Jackson, on the other hand, is a VERY good idea!! I think he'd finally give Superman the treatment it hasn't had since Superman 2.

I was never really a Huge fan of Superman in any incarnation, he was always too powerful for me. That's why I enjoyed Superman: Doomsday if only for the method in which he died, no kryptonite weapon or other mystical or overly sci-fi device, just some good old fashioned pummelling (despite him coming back later).

But really, how interesting can a character be when his main story is about fighting crime and yet he's virtually indestructible, bullet proof, can fly, has lasers in his eyes... the list goes on. The only way to kill him is via radioactive bits of his homeworld, which, lets be honest here, if Superan were a villain, we could let them get away with such sloppy writing, but he's the hero and yet they want me to care about a character that's about as immortal as Wile-E Coyote.

LOL, you're right Joshi, I don't remember the old Superman movies in such detail, I just remember Lois being all starry eyed for Superman. I've always thought Superman was kind of a dumb story/character because there's no way he could keep his identity secret that way... But the movies and cartoons were still entertaining. Well, some of the movies anyway...

Well, going from the movies, he saves her life, which is fine, but then he goes and has a nice little chat with her on her own balcony. I mean, if we were doing this smart, he'd save her life and then try to never see her again as Superman unless he needed to save her life again (because she's apparently pretty accident prone).

All in all, Superman is foolish for trying to have his cake and eat it too with Lois, and Lois is just plain stupid for not being able to recognise someone simply because they took their glasses off. :D

Well, from the movies, I don't think Superman went after Lois, Lois goes after Superman, but Clark Kent goes after Lois while Lois doesn't go after Clark Kent. That's how I saw it at least. But yah, regardless, she should be able to tell, lol.

Ken

Fair enough, I was mistaken there, all I was saying was, that whole playboy thing gives Batman a pretty convincing alias that people like Superman don't have.

Oh Superman has the whole "I'm very awkward" thing going, but he's then stupid enough to have Clark Kent AND Superman both go after the same girl giving her a decent look at both Superman and Superman with spectacles.

Batman tends to (and again, I may be mistaken here since I don't follow Batman that much) keep his Bruce Wayne life and Batman life as separate as possible.

That public playboy thing was done by Bruce Timm's animated version too. Nolan didn't think of that either.

The Watchmen Directors Cut hasn't hit the UK yet... I've heard really good things, but I'm not sure whether to wait it out till the Ultimate cut or whatever comes along with Tales of the Black Freighter put in as well.

As for Batman, I have to say a lot of what people use to determine a persons appearance comes from the eyes and the Batman mask covers the entire top of the head (seriously, when was the last time you went "Kyle... Kyle is that you? I'd recognise that jaw anywhere!").

Superman's disguise is pretty stupid (I wear glasses and my friends, who didn't know me before I started wearing them, can still recognise me when I take them off) but Batman?

I mean, at least in the Nolanverse Wayne plays himself up as a millionaire playboy, his public persona doesn't match the kind of person who would selflessly go out and put his life at risk getting the bad guys. Seriously, in a city filled with hundreds of thousands, if no millions of people, Bruce Wayne would likely be the last person you'd think of as the Batman.

@790
Why don't they know Wayne is Batman? In the DC universe, I think people are complete idiots. How does a man hide his identity with eye-glasses? Since a mask is much better than eye-glasses, I'd say the Gotham City people are genuises compared to Metropolis. 8-)

Oh, BTW, I still haven't checked Watchmen: Director's Cut out yet, but it's still on my list.

Nah, easier to just buy myself a bunch of balloons filled with helium and dub it myself, lol. Record the background music as a separate track so it's continuous and not chopped, and it's all golden! lol
