As usual – talk about whatever you like as long as it’s related to movies, TV or Screen Rant itself – just remember to play nice.

  1. I don’t want Burton anywhere near another comic book film…especially after we got those two crappy Batman films from him.

  2. Tim Burton directing a spider man movie would be cool, but it may be a much darker and more violent film than the one’s from Sam Raimi

  3. George Lucas can direct an awesome Superman movie! Imagine a Superman movie with a Star Wars twist. My second vote would be Peter Jackson, nice 3 hour long superman flick

  4. Sorry I hate going on about this Batman Thing-but you got me thinking and I realized that in all the current batman movies the villians have all outshine the batman-no villian ever outshined the batman on the TV series week-in week-out, except maybe the Catwoman purr….. sorry no more on the subject.

  5. Actually the perfect director to step into the superhero/film arena would be director David Croneberg if anyway is familiar with his work(“Scanners”, “The Fly”, “Naked Lunch”, and recently a away from his normal “A History of Violence”.) knows his underlying theme in all his films are the melding of the human mind and body with techonology or nature.

Perfect for Ironman or any superhero for that matter especially spidey (watch the remake of the The Fly)

  6. There was this old classic movie in the 60′s? Im not quite sure the exact year but it needs a make over cause from what my dad was tellin’ that it was a hell of a movie. “WHOM THE GODS WISH TO DESTROY”. Its kinda like “Clash of the Titans” but better..I wonder who the rights to that movie.Have y’all heard about that movie here in screenRant?

  7. Next, I want Spielberg or Lucas or Ridley Scott or James Cameron or Stephen Sommers, any of those directors to give the “TEN COMMANDMENTS” a makeover. I know that movie untouchable due its Iconic status but I would love to see it getting a make over. Especially with our technology now a days??

  8. Im just kinda getting tired with superhero movies now a days..They all have they same concept. Fight the bad guys!!Have them fight each other or sumthin’..

  9. @kissjonez

“Next, I want Spielberg or Lucas or Ridley Scott or James Cameron or Stephen Sommers, ”

How on earth did Stephen Sommers end up in that list?

  10. I’m glad the new crow movie is NOT going to be a reboot.

  11. @ Air Force One

You have to be out of your mind to let George Lucas anywhere near Superman!Superman doesn’t need a Ja-Jar Binks like sidekick and that’s exactly what you would get if Lucas has anything to do with Superman.

Peter Jackson on the other hand would be intriguing.

    @Firewalker

Don’t forget Frank Gorshin as the Riddler.

  12. The Ten Commandments? I don’t know about that. To me, that movie is better than almost any movie today. The only thing it was missing was comedy, which it didn’t need. The parting of the Red Sea is still the most awesome scene I have ever seen in a movie. And no one is going to top Charleston Heston and Yul Brenner.

  13. Hey Joshi, did you see the X-Files film yet?

  14. 790

No, despite my overall geekiness, I never was into the X-Files (not even a party I feel like getting to late), and I’ve heard bad things about the movies, there’s little to no chance of me watching them.

  15. Oh sorry Joshi, got you confused with someone else on that,,,

Damn it!!!! I look like a fool,,,,,

  16. I thought maybe you were confused since I was talking about finally attempting to get into BSG last week. :p Figured you’d got the shows mixed up or something.

  17. This open discussion is going slowly.

  18. @kissjonez

“Whom the Gods wish to destroy” never heard of that title but in the sixtes it was not uncommon for films to have more than one title.

I remember the popular genre of biblical and mythology films Hercules, Samson, Romulus and Remus and such in the sixties.

And the star of that genre was Victor Mature ask your dad if he was in the film

  19. Yeah I was thinking of Ogb, Joshi.

He was going to watch the first X-Files film last weekend… 8-)

  20. Ah, then you are forgiven (mostly…)

  21. Hey 790,

Did you ever finish watching Monster X Strikes Back?

  22. Joshi, did you get into BSG yet?

  23. Matt, do you mean, “Japanese Monsters Attack the G-8 Summit”?

I love that title, I so wish it would come true,,, :-)

  24. I watched… um… I’d say the first 3 quarters of the mini-series in a single sitting yesterday… and at 3 hours long, that was a lot of BSG :p

I’ll probably watch the rest tonight and then decide from there whether to order the rest. So far, pretty good, I’m just worried that the end of the mini-series won’t have much of a hook for me to keep going with it. Also it’s a lot more straight laced than I’m used to (tiniest bit of humour) but then I’m a fan of shows like 24, so it won’t be a problem.

  25. It definitely gets better after the MiniSeries.
The writing is thick with plot, and if you follow the entire series you will be surprised how it turns out…

  26. I meant “Monster X Strikes Back: Attack on the G8 Summit.

  27. @790

I’ll certainly give it a shot.

    @Matt

“Monster X Strikes Back: Attack on the G8 Summit”. If ever there was a more ballsy movie title I haven’t heard it… it even trumps “Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus”.

  28. Did anyone else hear that BS rumor that Megaon Fox is being considered for the role of Catwoman in Batman 3? I wouldn’t even see the film if that were true. IF they used that character, I would rather see someone that can ACT, rather than someone who was cast just to attract the horny Tweenagers.

    790,

My bad. I thought I heard you say you were watching it once.

  29. Haven’t finished it,,,
    Its officially called
“Japanese Monsters Attack the G8 Summit” I’m not sure where you got Monster X from.

Joshi its so bad its good,,,
