It’s Wednesday again, time for our regularly scheduled open discussion post.
As usual – talk about whatever you like as long as it’s related to movies, TV or Screen Rant itself – just remember to play nice.
Around the web:

RIP Ted Kennedy
I believe that the problem with the Spiderman movies is that they focus more on drama than a action flick. It would be nice if the next movie will be more action oriented. Why can’t there be a balance between good story and action? Look at the new Hulk movie, it was action packed yet at the end you still have sympathy towards Bruce Banner. Why can’t they do that with Spiderman? Make an action oriented spidey movie where at the end you still care about the character and how he is taking responsibility as a hero
oops i mean ed…
It’s because the stupid hollywood execs are only looking to get money fast… so they fast track absolutely everything to make it happen. they think people come in to see the franchise, and that might be it at first, but, look at the dark knight, it’s the story that brings them back for more!
I am looking forward to Sly Stallone’s Expendables. I hope that the film will earn a R rating and not be watered down to a PG-13 rating.
How much money do you think James Cameron’s Avatar will make?
I actually thought Spidey 1 & 2 had the story and action. Spidey 3 had too much Mary Jane whining and Saturday Night Fever crap; and, of course, crying.
A dynasty has come to an end. I may not have agreed with Ted Kennedy’s politics, but his family was the American royal family equivalent. RIP.
Spider-Man needs to make jokes! That’s what is lacking in the movies! Make him a comedian that’s like his thing man.
Prediction: Avatar – $120 million first weekend, $800 million total (includes world gross).
I just read something about Ted Kennedy. He died yesterday. About James Cameron Avatar, more money than Titanic!
I am also looking forward to Sly’s Expendables. I would really like an R-rating but I understand if they go with PG-13. Look at Live Free or Die Hard — its the only PG-13 in the Die Hard series but I still enjoyed it. If the Expendables is PF-13 it needs to be along the lines of LFDH.
pf-13??? lol
Ryan Reynolds should not be Green Lantern. Give the role to Bradley Cooper.
The execs at fox are going overboard with X-men spin offs. Just go with a part 4.
If they do a part 4 of X-Men, they need to have Bishop in it and do a modified version of “Days of Future’s Past”, where Bishop prevents the mutation of Jean Grey into Phoenix with some retrovirus, thereby preventing the deaths of the other X-Men. He can also prevent the kidnapping of the mutant that was the inspiration for the formula that blocked mutant powers. Of course, this will lead to a chain of events that includes the Sentinels and Apocalypse.
Fox, I want my cut!
Louis Leterrier should direct a Dragonball Z reboot. Next to Chris Nolan he is one of the best up and coming directors we have.
Who is the best Batman?
Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, or Christian Bale? (Notice I did not list George Clooney)
Finally finished Season 5 of Angel this weekend (man am I late to this party…), the ending was odd, but it grew on me and now I think it was awesome.
@General
You didn’t list Kevin Conroy.
Although even still, like the rest of the sheep, I’m going to have to go with Bale. Keaton was good for his time, but since Bale, I can’t believe Keaton as a viable Batman anymore (he made a decent Bruce Wayne… just not Batman).
That said, Conroy did the best job at making the voices for both Wayne and Batman seem viable without sounding too raspy like Bale did.
If Warner Bros ever make a Justice League movie, they need to make Batman vs Superman to set it up. Just like what Marvel is doing now with their movies to lead into the Avengers
Forgot about Kevin Conroy. What would Batman be without that man?
@ Dang Man
You’re absolutely right! The way I see it Warner Bros should set it up like this
Green Lantern-2011
Superman Reboot-2012
Batman 3-2013
Supermax-2013
Flash-2014
Wonder Woman-2014
Batman vs. Superman-2015
Teen Titans-2016
Justice League-2017
@General
I would have to vote Bale.
@Joshi
I think he meant actors playing the role, not voicing them. I saw the first Batman the other day, and I have to say Keaton was very good for that role, IMHO.
@Dang Man
I heard that Batman beat Superman; how on earth is that possible? I remember the Superman vs. Spiderman comic and when Supes was about to hit Spidey, he realized he would have killed him and backed off, but the wind from his blow knocked Spidey into a building. How on earth can Batman defeat someone with that type of power?
There’s always hope for a Spidey vs Hulk movie. Or Spiderman teaming up with X-Men. Epic movies!
@ Air Force One
Your right.They need to let Spidey be more sarcastic, humorous and let him talk more trash to villains,instead of being depressed all the time.Also no more Mary Jane would be good too,IMHO they have milked that story line for all its worth.And for crying out loud could Spidey please keep his mask on.All of NY has to know by now that Peter Parker is Spiderman,arrgh.
@ General
For those of us who grew up watching the old T.V series it has to be Adam West if for nothing more than nostalgia.But having said that IMHO I think Val Kilmer would have made the better Batman with a better script out of the others you mentioned.
@General
For Me there is only one Batman-Adam West
The man embodied the role.If it wasn’t for him(West) These other Actors wouldn’t had the chance to play Batman.
The other actors have it easy they only have to portray a batman that just’s a little bent mentally, but pretty much straight-up.
West had to be campy, sexual, believeable and on top of that bent and he was a man’s man sorry non of the other actors come close(Bale or Keaton).
And by the way he got more of the ladies!!!!! Argue that.
I have one burning question, that needs to be answered before I hang myself…
What´s true about the rumour that Megan Fox is gonna play Catwoman in the new Batman movie? Please tell me that ain’t true.
Did anyone else here that the producers of “Delgo” may sue Cameron’s “Avatar” over similarities between the films.
Who should direct the Superman reboot? how cool would it be if Tim Burton directed a spiderman movie back in the early 90′s with Johnny Depp playing Peter Parker. Just need the special effects
