As usual – talk about whatever you like as long as it’s related to movies, TV or Screen Rant itself – just remember to play nice. icon smile Open Discussion April 4, 2014

  1. I’m actually first?

  2. Good Morning All….

    Happy Friday (finally!!)….. :)

Cap 2 is finally here, I can’t wait to see it tonight. A whole group of guys from work are going at lunch to see it, wish I was going with them, but we already have tickets for tonight. I can’t believe how good the reviews are, wow.

So, we’re going to have Marvel movies all the way up until 2028! That’s a lot of movies, whoa! IMO, each Marvel movie in succession has been a deeper, better quality story and a better over all movie than the previous, (IM3 being the exception of course; thank you Shane Black), with the exception of Iron Man1 and The Avengers. Those two, I consider very good, with, IMO, Avengers being the best CBM of all time, at least that I have ever seen. That being the case, I can only think that as Marvel keeps making movies, they will continue to get better and better. The future is super bright for Marvel and CBM fans everywhere.

Anybody catch Arrow this week? I felt like I should have bought a ticket to watch the episode this week. It was phenomenal. Deathstroke was extremely cool, the story was gripping, I mean wow. IMO, thats the best show on tv. I cannot wait until the next episode. :)

    • Yes, Arrow was amazing last week! Manu Bennett has this intensity about him that genuinely makes me scared for Oliver. After seeing the promo for the next episode I am on the verge of insanity as there is another break between episodes.

Also, what are your thoughts on the Batman vs. Superman castings? Who do you think they will play?

      • @ Josh

I like the pick up of the addtional cast members. I think the overall talent of that cast is rounding out nicely. I’m not sure what roles they’ll play as the move is in a bit of flux right now with the re-write and all, so it may be some time before we know. I would like them to release something though, either pictures of the new suits or something.

  3. So cap 2 finally released in the place it matters, wont say much about it here just that id rate it better than IM3 but behind Thor 2.

  4. You have to pick three movie characters to help you survive the Zombie Apocalypse!

    1. You can’t pick a character that somebody else has used. (In previous comments)
    2. You can’t pick all or even two of the same universe characters such as Batman and Superman because they are in the DC universe. (You could only pick one or the other.)
    3. When you pick them they have their full capacity of weapons or powers.

My list: Legolas, (LOTR) Batman, (DC) Luke Skywalker (Star Wars)

    • Love it!

      1) 1980′s Something Space Guy (Lego Movie)
      2) Brick Tamland with the future laser gun (Anchorman 2)
      3) Godzilla (Godzilla ’14…techincally a character :))

      • Blade (Marvel), Daryl (TWD), Schwarzeneggar (from Predator)

I’d be set with those 3.

      • @ deroxstar

What would happen if Godzilla got bit by a zombie? Would it be slower? Probably wouldn’t matter since it has scales but it still would be cool to see.

        • A zombie Godzilla! Brilliant! That’s the sequel right there…

I imagine I would just live on Godzilla (since he’s the size of a small island), spaceguy could be my transport to get supplies, and Brick could make me laugh (and protect me) when I’m feeling down that it’s the zombie apocaylpse.

    • @ Writer

Hawkeye, (Marvel) Dutch(Predator) Rambo (Rambo franchise).

    • @ Writer

      1. Iron Man
      2. Snake Pliskin
      3. Superman

    • No fair you took Batman.

      #1 Iceman (Marvel)
      #2 Firestorm (DC)
      #3 Caitlin Fairchild (Gen 13)

      • @ Bat-Mite

Sorry for taking Batman but I really wanted to see Legolas shooting arrows off the Bat-mobile. Great list by the way.

        • I can’t blame you for grabbing Bats, he would have been my first choice. Thanks, great idea. Also a lightsaber may be the best zombie fighting weapon ever, no mess.

    • I’ll side with evil for protection:

      1. T-1000 – T2
      2. Solomon Grundy – DC (Can a zombie kill other zombies?)
      3. Doc Ock – Marvel

      • @ $2

The Solomon Grundy thing makes me wonder whether he would join the zombies, or if the zombies would join him and he would be like their king or something? Awesome either way but dangerous nonetheless.

    • I like Zombie movies but I’m always frustrated by the stupidity and irrationality of everyone. Obviously it makes for better drama, but really some calm minds and intelligence could survive and thrive in a Zombie world.

      1. Spock
      2. Sherlock Holmes
      3. Jack Bauer

      • @ Nostelg-0

Brilliant… I like all those characters but Jack Bauer (as much as I like him) is I guy I hope I would never have to survive with, mainly because they all wind up dead or as close to death as you can get.

        • After I thought about it, Macguyver is more what I was “shooting” for. Can I switch? Someone else can have Bauer (who’s really kind of a grittier, non-mulleted, sweatier, sleep-deprived McGuyver).

          • Yeah, you can switch… LOL Can’t wait for the 12 episode season 9 of 24 though.

    • 1) Blade
      2) Daryl (TWD)
      3) Schwarzeneggar from Predator

    • @Writer

      1) Bryan Mills (Taken)
      2) Falcon (Cap 2)
      3) Thor

  5. Jeremy Irons I think will do good as Alfred but Jesse E. as Lex doesn’t appeal to me. He seems too young compared to the Bruce Wayne/Batman they’re having. Like the Lex from Smallville tv series.

  6. @ Writer

I would pick Blade (Marvel), Daryl (TWD), and Schwarzaneggar from Predator.

For some reason I couldn’t reply to your thread up there.

  7. Zombie Apocalypse survival team:
    1) Beatrix Kiddo- Kill Bill
    2) Son Goku- Dragon Ball Z
    3) Abed Nadir- Community

  8. In honor of Winter Soldier; name a movie/TV series, that you enjoyed, with an amnesiac character.
    “The Majestic” 2001, Jim Carrey.

    • Kill Bill

    • Dark City or Desperately Seeking Susan

I can’t believe those two movies have something in common…

    • Memento

  9. Does Screenrant have an APP? You should have one :)

  10. Anyone watching Revolution anymore?

The nanites are now the machines from the Matrix. Crazy.

    Zombie survival team:

    1. God (Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty)
    2. Data (TNG movies)
    3. Magneto (X-Men)

  11. I can’t believe no one has picked Cap yet.

    1. Captain America
    2. Gibbs, NCIS. I know it’s not a movie but a great character
    3. Sgt Rock. DC

  12. What I would like to see in the next Cap America, Ironman, Thor, and Hulk Solo films is. Baron Zemo featured somehow along with the return of Red Skull with some better action scenes. Ironman go up against The real Mandarin who opens a portal to Thors world or another and wakes Fin Fang Foom. Loki and Enchantress team up, and Abomination and The Leader released by Moles/Spies/Assassins of Hyrda.

For The next X-men I want more Gambit, Nightcrawler, Juggernaught, Cyclops, and Archangel.

    ALso Godzilla looks amazing

Dawn of the apes looks good

Looking forward to Prometheus Paradise, and Island of Dr Moreau from Leo Decaprio( hope he stars in it).

  13. Why is Beast in DOFP always look so angry? He was never like that if I remember correctly he was more of the intellectual who used his mind and words to solve problems and only used his muscles when he had too, and even then he was never angry.

    • Mostly because his normalizing serum in the film doesn’t work when he gets pissed off, so all the blue-fur shots are of him being angry.

  14. Can’t remember who exactly on the podcast keeps going on and on about Arrow but it was enough to get me to check it out and 8 episodes into the first season I’m really, really enjoying it and if it only gets better from here and through the 2nd season like I keep hearing I’ll be a very happy man.

So once again to whoever the Arrow fan is on the podcast, thank you.

  15. Captain America: The Winter Soldier was outstanding, unbelievable, amazing, one of the best Marvel movies I’ve seen! I’m going to go see it again next week!
