Screen Rant Open Movie DiscussionHi folks, it’s time once again to open the floor to you for another open discussion.

You can talk about whatever you like regarding movies or TV. Maybe I’m psychic, but I think my picture this week may foreshadow the discussion just a bit. :-)

And yes, I’ll give you my quick impressions of Iron Man, which I just saw a couple of hours ago…

  1. Thanks.

It’s about time we see that Supes, I say. :-D

I’m SO tired of Superman being portrayed as a whiny, wussy, pretty boy type on screen (see Superman 2). ;-) The JLU/Superman: TAS was the truest translation of Superman to date, IMO.

Clancy Brown is awesome, love his Lex Luthor. He was the nasty gaurd in Shawshank Redemption, BTW.

I always thought that Nathon Fillon would make a good vet version of Hal Jordan, he’d be my first choice for GL but isn’t because I wanted someone closer in age to the Flash, as GL/Hal Jordan and Flash/Barry Allen are the same age (and best friends) in the comics. Duhamel is kinda cutting it close in the age department, but I felt he would fit better with Ackles’ Flash than Fillon.

Still, I could totally see Fillon as John Jones (or GL). He would be perfect, I think. I think he’d be like the JJ from the New Frontier animated movie, he has that swagger to him. :-)

  2. Absolutely agree about Superman. I get about him being noble and upright, fine, but have some edge! He’s the greatest of superheros powerwise. Act you know know it, maybe even love it. You can be angry too, it happens to all of us!

So yeah, a tougher Superman and Fillion as JJ and I’m loving it. :)

Oh, and I know Clancy Brown is the guard thank you! ;)
Love that bloke. Him and Ironside were the best thing in Starship Troopers.

Perlman, Brown and Ironside. There’s too much classic villainry between those three to go to waste there. :D

  3. Hey guys I’m hearing that there is a Nick Fury teaser at the end of the Iron Man credits.

    :_/

  4. Just came back from watching IM. From the reviews, I expected it to be awesome but it wasn’t, it was….FRACKING AWESOME!!! It does take a while before you see the IM armor but the comedy kept you in the movie.

Stay till after the credits; you will clap!

  5. Stan Lee over at Movieguys.org just got back from seeing it and told me that Iron Man was completely awesome!!!!

The comments are about to pour in full speed!!!!.

Vic I think I’m going to wait until sunday night to read your review. (I want to have some surprises). :-)

  6. I’ve never seen Christina Ricci look hotter than she does in the pictures from Speed Racer.

    She looks like an Alien_hybrid Supermodel…. :-)

  7. Who do you guys think the villais should be for future films. I think it should be Black Widow and maybe Hawkeye for #2 and and in big ancipation Mandarin for the third movie. Oh and by the way I’m a huge Iron Man fan and I give the movie an obvious 5/5.

  8. BY the way Nick Fury does appear after the credits. I wont tell you what he says to Tony Stark though.

  9. Speaking of the guardsman doesn’t Clancy Brown do the voice of Mr. Krabs on Spongebob

  10. Yes, he does Mr Krab. I was stunned when I realised that. A baddie expert who does the voice of Lex Luthor, doing Mr Krab! :)

  11. Star Wars,
You probably shouldn’t have let that cat out of the bag. For me, that scene was a hugh surprise and now those who hadn’t seen the movie won’t get that same feeling of astonishment (maybe after hearing what he says). Just my opinion, my brotha.

  12. NO MORE SUPERHERO MOVIES THAT LET US DOWN!NOW WE HAVE IRON MAN AS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF HOW TO MAKE ONE JUST RIGHT. HOPE MARVEL TAKE ALL THEIR HEROES HOME AND MAKE THEM WITH CARE. DON’T GET LAZY MARVEL, YOU MUST ALWAYS TRY TO MAKE THE BEST MOVIES YOU CAN.
