It’s time to get hooked on season 2 of ABC’s hit storybook drama, Once Upon a Time, as we're finally getting our first good look at the highly-anticipated update of Peter Pan’s pirate nemesis, Captain Hook.

As previously announced, Irish actor Colin O’Donoghue landed the coveted role of Captain Hook, who has been described as a fearsome and confident pirate ship captain who relishes every challenge and never backs down from a fight (whether the reward be power, riches, or women).

Hook will be slashing his way into the series on October 21st in the episode titled 'The Crocodile,' where we'll get a chance to see how the brazen buccaneer got his hook. And now that Queen Regina’s (Lana Parrilla) evil curse has been broken, we'll see Hook’s real-world counterpart, Killian Jones, return to some of his old, ne'er-do-well ways. Despite Hook’s less-than-friendly description, he played a part in assisting Mulan (Jamie Chung) and Prince Phillip (Julian Morris) in their journey to find Princess Aurora (Sarah Bolger).

Once Upon a Time - Colin O’Donoghue as Captain Hook

'The Crocodile' will not only center on Captain Hook’s origin story, but will also involve Belle's (Emilie de Ravin) disgust for Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold's (Robert Carlyle) increasing thirst for power, with Belle threatening to leave him if he can't change his evil ways. If Gold’s wicked habits weren’t enough for the already strained couple, a reunion with an old acquaintance could prove to be Belle's undoing.

Meanwhile, with Rumplestiltskin bringing magic to our reality, the dwarves will be picking up their axes in an attempt to try and find 'Fairy Dust' in the old abandon Storybrooke mine. Then, back in the magic-ravaged Fairytale Land, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) will continue to struggle to return to our world. Unfortunately for them, those left behind have become less than cordial.

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays @8pm on ABC. Captain Hook's origin story will appear in episode 4 on Sunday, October 21st.
