According to horror news website ShockTilYouDrop Aliens vs Predator 3 is going to be made. Here’s a quote from the site:
“An anonymous source over at 20th Century Fox got in touch with us over the weekend to relay the news another Aliens vs. Predator sequel is a ‘certainty’ at this point. If you recall, the brothers Strause – who helmed the Christmas release Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem – stated Fox was going to take a ‘wait-and-see’ approach to a third chapter, furthermore, that the story would have to continue in space.”

Haven’t they tortured us enough?
Between the weak Alien vs Predator and the heinous creation that was Aliens vs Predator: Requiem I had truly hoped this franchise was dead. Ah, but where there’s even a meager amount of money to be made, a movie franchise will never die (can you say “Freddy” or “Jason”?).
It only made $129 million worldwide, and overseas crowds must have liked it more than folks in the U.S. because here it only earned $42 million. In case you don’t know, for a movie like this that is WEAK. They must have made it on the cheap for it to have shown a profit. First time directors and no name actors probably contributed to that.
I guess the DVD release of the movie is right around the corner and they’re anticipating good sales on that. No doubt they’ll have an “unrated” version… When is it coming out? Who cares!
I don’t think there is a snowball’s chance in Hell that this movie could possibly be good at all, but I’m sure they’ll come up with some spin or director that will once again fan the flames of hope in fans of both franchises. Like a girl you have a crush on that keeps saying she’ll go out with you and then cancels at the last minute, I’m sure that the next film will leave us beaten and disappointed. Again.
Hey, maybe they can get Brett Ratner to direct it, wouldn’t that be cool?!

Stephen, the thought of a predator pulling out a picture of his wife and kid made me burst out laughing so hard. I immediately thought of a nice little picture frame of his wife and kids on the wall where he keeps his hunting skulls.

I have sent this idea to John Davis, but it will probably get thrown out. You can’t have an AVP movie without humans who’s going to watch basically a slient film with no dialouge.
First off they should get Adam Baldwin back to reprise his role of Garber and he could be with the now weyland yutani corp. Maybe bring in Jake Busey to play peter keys son? still have it on earth but on a remote tropical island where they have the preds pod from AVP-R and the frozen but now thawed alien queen from AVP. with her now producing eggs. there is the usual catasrophy to allow the aliens to run a muck and a predator ship that looks like the derilic craft in alien and aliens with a spacejockey on board are transporting eggs to other hunting grounds, they scan earth for the heat and conflict they crave and see the aliens are running a muck on the island they cloak and land but the scientist notice the atmospheric disterbance and go to the ship and play a homing device on it. in the end the ship crashes on LV-426 and the last thing you see is the alien queen moving to the back of the ship and the camera pans back to reveil all the eggs and since there is a homing device on it this is how weyland yutani knows where the ship is and to bring back the life form

You know its funny you mentioned Riddick. I almost got to write a script for it. But I don’t know what the hell happened. My story was sat before episode 1 and one AFTER episode 1.
It was an origin film and then the resolution. It was supposed to be a trilogy but then I have no clue to this very day what happened…
Sucks because it seems the IDIOTS outnumber us like 10 to 1.
I “used” to know a guy that was into the SIM game, he would show me how his virtual SIM family was building there communtiy. It reminded me of the Sea Monkey game we used to play with. Certain people sure want to micro manage other people. Its sick.
Half the readers here will laugh I’m sure, but I thought the Cronicles Of Riddick was one of the most original sci-fi films in years….

Pitch Black was one of my favorite modern sci fi movies. Personally because Claudia Black is in it and Vin was such a bad ass!!! Those aliens were awesome and the feel not to mention the score was perfect!
Loved it. Still do. The second part wasn’t bad, just not in tune with the first one. I was so happy when I first heard they were making a trilogy, so I penned out a treatment but then suddenly it turned into a cartoon and just one movie.
Haha. Your Farscape side is showing. Yeah I felt both fims were unique. Cronicles had top-notch cinematography.
And that animated cartoon (Dark Fury) I think happened because Cronicles kinda bombed.
I’m sure Vin Diesel will bring that franchise back someday.

Good News, I’ve read that Rocky S’Obannon (spell check) is writing a Farscape movie.
Henson Studios will hopfully produce in a few years a Farscape feature film.
Ben Browder and Claudia have all expressed interest.
Too bad about Dargo, but we have his son. Hope they do it and I hope Wormhole weapons are back! And of course Scorpius. !!

I know Ben and Claud are both very much interested in going back to the roots of Farscape and doing another run. I welcome it.
But, a film? Hmm I haven’t heard anything about that. I know the minisodes are coming but that’s about it. I hope it won’t be Jim Henson company doing Farscape cause then Disney has something to say and I’d rather they keep quiet when it concerns Farscape.
Let 20th C. Fox do it. Or Universal. After all they did ok with Serenity when they made a movie out of it.

790, I hate SG Atlantis too!!!! But to be honest it was SG-1 which first stole Ben and then made a frelled up episode where they mocked Farscape!!! DAMN THEM!
I talked to Ben a while ago and I don’t know if you know this, but Ben was offered the role of Apollo on BSG. Yep, he naturally went where there was more money. But then if Ben had taken the role I am sure BSG would have been a bit different, more dramatic with Apollo. Ben is a fantastic actor and one of the coolest people out there.

I never really got into farscape and stargate. But they are good shows. I usually just watch sci-fi movies. Movies keep my attention.

I know it may seem predictable but, in my opinion this is what they would have to do to merge the series’s and after that they would be free to go to any planet in any time.
If you think about it, it is the only logical way that the company knows about the alien and where it is in the first alien movie.
In Predator, I think the whole “fighting without weapons or armor” is more about honor. The Predator has Arnold outmatched by a mile with weapons, so hand-to-hand makes it fair (sorta). And I’ve always wondered how a Predator reproduces. Are they asexual? All female? Male/female? Do they lay eggs or something like that? Do they “grow” them in a lab somewhere? I’ve always wondered that. And I might be crazy, but one of the aliens has the same cloaking ability as Predator in AVP. Is it like that in ANY of the other Alien movies?

How do predators reproduce? Thats a good one and thats the question. Lets hope they will make a new predator movie and we will find out.

I doubt it’s a major issue that needs to be addressed when it comes to sexes and reproductions with the Predator Aliens. Unless we go with the Documentary Style Story by 790, I think it’s best left untold. Certain mysteries needs to be kept just that… a mystery.
But if it was a crucial point to the story, it could be mentioned in 790s take on a new Predator movie. You know the documentary, home video style Predator movie. Imagine that… just for kicks, someone with enough budget like the BATMAN Vs. Predator fan film, someone would actually make a Discovery Channel/National Geographic documentary about the Predator Species.

You said that it would be interesting to have a human search party find a lost tape or data storage device that could be played back as a documentary type film.
I can’t take cred for that cool concept.
Personally I imagine the Predator society is somewhat like our own. Were only seeing the Predators out on recon or on the frontlines of a possible war. (I’m not buying the demi-god concept in AvP).
I really have no desire to see how they procreate…. Just the thought of them kissing could be very disgusting.

I remember now… I think I just threw the idea out so far I forgot I was the one throwing it.
Ummm, yeah Predators kissing is not my kinda flick… Alien Porn.. hmmm. Well I guess some people probably would see it.. maybe 4 or 5 out of 6 Billion.
I’ve always seen Predators as a race that’s very war like. They dominate and take pride in their hunts etc. They are a war like society, that still seeks out to battle other alien spices in order to show their dominance.
This is how I see them, like the ancient Mayan warriors, only with highly advanced technology. They are a proud race and have evolved into a superior race of hunters.
Because of their design I imagine them being like that. But like all societies and species, I’m sure they have a LESSER kind of Predator which isn’t strong and isn’t a hunter. I see them as the creators, the scientists and builders. They might be different looking, perhaps thinner, more elegant, even different look perhaps. Their women might still be tall and warrior like, but more elegant and in some ways feminine (think Borg Queen form First Contact here).
Better yet, they might have a slave race doing all their work, like building their weapons, ships etc. They could be slaves from another world or their own lesser kinds…
You can spin this ball which ever way you want to… but inherently it has to stay in the courtyard of the already established Predator mythos. If they are introduced as genetically superior super beings, some of the magic/mystery would be taken away (like Highlander 2 and Star Wars Episode 1).
Ultimately, you can only give so much information about their background before you are demystifying the entire spices and then loosing their value.
