To Tweeb: "Drama queen media whore?" Man, did you think that up all by yourself?

And then you expect people to take you seriously?

I'll not get into all the stuff about whether MJ was a pedo or not because as far as I can tell if it wasn't accusations of pedofilia it would have been kleptomania, or hydrophobia, zoofilia or just anything that would have given blabbermouths something to pass as convo with their friends. Plus, as far as I can tell, the GREAT American Justice System found him not guilty of all counts. I suppose law and justice are not in U.S. courts but on the streets. Indeed, given your record it's a wonder you need courts at all. After all, no one does it better, right?

What amazes the most is that the guy was American but then the worst thing to be in America is American. You actually cussed out your own President because he got a Nobel Peace Prize! Go figure!

Even more pathetic is the way certain people have this way of pontificating to us lesser mortals as though they have a single unique achievement in their lives. Most critics I find are wrapped up in these grandoise ideas of themselves that they never have the wherewithal to actually try something that is outside their sphere. If they do travel outside, they lose grip on their supposed domination of that sphere and fall away.

Criticize "Beat It", sure, but can anyone here write a hit tune? Ok... maybe not, how about writing a bestseller,ummmm... no? Ok, how about (this should be easy) directing a movie like "Paranormal Activity"? No?

I guess it's easier to sit at a pc (like me)and anonymously (like me)rant and rave at the things we could never be rather than accepting the fact that people are the same wherever in the world they are...

Ur greatest talent is waiting to be spoonfed the "truth" by your media that only uses you to boost ratings and earn money! Then you have the gall to talk about MJ... why not about Madoff who laughing his half - dead ass off in jail at how STUPID the great American justice system is for not catching him sooner!

So what if people idolise MJ... I am no fan either but it disturbs me that supposedly reasonable human beings resort to name calling and abuse everytime someone else does something differently.

People idolize who they feel like and if they show love to the point where they adore someone, so what?

I personally laugh at your claims because you got guys fooling around little girls from way back in the 70's, flying all over the world AFTER he was convicted and you now decide to get at him. I supposed now that MJ's gone somebody had to pick up the slack, right?

I love Michael Jackson and I am a die-hard fan. Like Paul I could never understand why people fawned all over celebrities. I am 37 and loved Michael my whole life, I never cried until I met him in 2001. He is my hero and he was soooo kind to me and he was down to earth. I began to understand the fawners after that because I became one. I can't wait to see the movie!! I am still in shock over his death. Love him forever!

I have a really low opinion of people who repeat unsubstantiated malicious gossip over & over again. It’s one thing if they’ve done some homework, checked the other side (Michael Jackson is an innocent victim of extortion) & then still believed he was guilty. But I suspect no one has bothered. ANYONE DECENT & OPEN-MINDED will check @ least one source below in each of the allegations.

Regarding the Jordie Chandler allegation which was settled:

    1. “Was Michael Jackson Framed? The Untold Story,” Mary A. Fischer, GQ, October 1994, http://www.buttonmonkey.com/misc/maryfischer.html;

    2. “Bury the Never Ending Myth of Jackson as Child Molester,” Earl Ofari Hutchison, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/earl-ofari-hutchi...

    3. Redemption by Geraldine Hughes, legal secretary for Barry Rothman, Dr. Chandler’s lawyer, who witnessed the set-up.

    Re the Gavin Arviso trial:

    1. Michael Jackson Conspiracy, Aphrodite Jones. Ms. Jones’ book is actual testimony from court transcripts. She obtained a court order to examine all the transcripts, records, videos & evidence, and had access to the jury foreman. Ms. Jones had attended the trial daily in her capacity as Fox News commentator. (Her book All She Wanted as adapted into the movie Boys Don’t Cry for which Hilary Swank won Best Actress Oscar).

    2. Michael Jackson: The Untold Story of Neverland (DVD) by Larry Nimmer (some excerpts on YouTube). The DVD was originally made to give the jury an idea what Neverland was like, since the judge didn’t allow them to make an actual trip there. Incl. are clips from both sides, prosecution/defense, including tapes where the accuser is telling police how Michael allegedly molested him, 70 (!) cops invade Neverland, clips fm. Bashir’s program + outtakes. An eye-opener, because it’s obvious when the Arvisos are caught in lies. Interviews w/Judge Foreman Rodriguez, Jackson lawyer Tom Mesereau, Aphrodite Jones. AVAILABLE @ NIMMER.NET Extras: 2005 trial victory party, messages fm. fans around the world to MJ, fans mourn him in L.A./Neverland.

    3. On Michael Jackson by Pulitzer Prize-winning critic for NY Times Margo Jefferson.

Fawners & haters are 2 sides of the same coin - at least fawners don’t harm anyone. Haters, often ignorant of facts, can & do cause real harm a la the Children’s Hour, Absence of Malice & the real life suicides of the girl & boy fm. cyber-bullying.

@tweeb & others w/your same opinion: O.K. I’m just going to put it out there and say it. That’s your uninformed baseless opinion. PROVE IT. The D.A. - w/all resources & multi-millions of taxpayer dollars @ his disposal for over 10 years abetted by scandal-hungry tabloids with all the world publicity - couldn’t. You can do better? You think Jackson’s tabloid-created bad rep is ‘proof’? That’s circular ‘reasoning.’

I don’t have a stake/interest in defending pedophiles. I was just a casual fan before Jackson died, but with all the articles pro/con I decided to look more into the allegations/achievements & listen to more of his music, see more videos – almost all new to me.

I don’t think Michael Jackson is a child molester based on my direct experience as an incest survivor & on knowing 100s of other incest/child sexual abuse survivors over 36 yrs, of intermittent counseling, and on studying pedophilia. (I’m fine now, thank you.) FOR THESE REASONS, I DON’T BELIEVE JACKSON IS A PEDOPHILE. I’ll elaborate if asked.

Coming to the party very late. Def. seeing it. Love watching all dvd behind-the-scenes/making-of features anyway. MJ’s reclusive last yrs. + iconic stature + sudden death + inside look @ his last days+ never saw his concerts = Must See. And curious @ experiencing it w/large group of people who are probably mostly fans w/some only curious.
  • Huggybear
That's funny, everyone hated MJ for the last 15 years or so, and now when he's dead he's suddenly a saint. Gimme a break.
  • Lelis
Please try to see the documentary "Michael Jackson-HUMAN NATURE" by MTV, this documentary is pos Die and see realy was Michael Jackson!!! Thanks

@Grandmother: "Everyone is entitled to share their opinion whenever they wish. It’s been that way since the beginning of time, and I have a feeling, it will continue until the end of time."

No it has not always been that way and no it is not that way now. While some of us enjoy that luxury a lot of people do not.

Which goes with this MJ thing. People are not seeing the whole picture. The person is the entertainer. The entertainer is the person. Each reflects on the person as a whole and depending on what you want to see that takes over.

I dont see movies because of the actors, directors, writers, etc. I see the movie for the "movie". However other things may sway me to see that movie or not. I can not 100% believe everything I see or hear in the news and must base my opinion on "stars" off bits and pieces from all sources.

So regardless of what WAS done until MJ tells you himself it is all your opinion. Graduating in 1983 and growing up with MJ was great. However at this point (IMO) he has lost all credibility as an entertainer to me. I dont care what he did in the past. I dont care how he lost his life (If it was lost to "nefarious" deeds I do hope for justice).
  • @tweeb - Metalhead? I know you are as a big a fan of Wolfmother a I am then. You lucky guys down there get to watch them live.
  • Tweeb
    @Paul

LOL! No I don't have one. But if I already have a fan, I'm happy to make one ;) 'scuse me whilst I go get some talent & take some keyboard lessons.

To me he is as talented as Paris Hilton. Nothing but a drama queen media whore. Even in death.

Maybe it's the metal head in me but I wanted to share my opinion too.
  • @tweeb - First, I love our banter so please in no way take what I say to be in an attacking tone. There is nothing wrong with us. The people that still enjoy his music do just that, enjoy it for what it is and nothing more. I agree with you as well that a lot of people take that love to an extreme and that is truly disturbing and creepy.

True his past rights do not forgive his present wrongs, but they didn't erase the slate when OJ was found guilty. He's stats still stand for what they are.

If music was really that easy to make then you would have your own album (OK, you may actually have one and I don't know about it, if some send me the Amazon link and I will gladly support you :) ).

The reports right now over here, she's in Australia guys, is that MJ's doctor is under suspicion for causing MJ to OD and that he didn't do it on his own. So looks like the Doc may take the wrap for it.
  • Tweeb
Ok. I'm just going to put it out there and say it. The guy was a CHILD MOLESTER who PAID his VICTIMS & their BAD parents to shut up. That makes these kid's parents their PIMPS. Sorry but as a parent NO AMOUNT OF MONEY would make me drop a case against their abuser. EVER. Not even 90 BILLION dollars.

What is wrong with you people?

Sorry, but I can't just 'focus on the positive' when there wasn't anything positive to FOCUS on. His music was POP for God's sake. Break out your Rolands guys and repeat after me "beat it, just beat it, beat it, just beat it" Viola. You have just produced music. Congrats.

"He's a legend. He changed the genre..blah.blah.blah" If he is such a legend, why then did he use his "influence" to OVERDOSE on DRUGS & kill himself?

You'd think he was Jesus the way people have gone on and on.

    Just my humble opinion.
  • @Kahless - That is exactly my point. I agree with you.
  • John "Kahless" Taylor
I can't seem to pull up the video but if it's anything near what his songs were like, it must be awesome. I remember about a month or so ago that I made a comment to my son that we seem to dwell on the negatives of MJ life rather than the positives. I have some major problems with some of the things he did but I can't in good conscience just ignore his transforming pop music. The man came up with a style and music that will go down in history as turning points in the genre. I wish there was a way I could get a compilation of all his videos.
  • aida
MJ U ROCK AND I WILL GO 2 SEE UR MOVIE NOMATTER WHAT CAUSE U R 1 OF THE BEST MUSIC TALENTED PEOPLE IV EVER SEEN AND UROCK MJ AND UR ITS ALL 4 LOVE L-O-V-E I LOVE MJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • maricel28
i will definitely go to see the movie of MJ. i am one of his fans who admire his talent. i don't care about his personal life because i don't know him personally.
  • Foopher
Wasn't he found NOT guilty for the molestation thing?

Anyway, don't know if i'll actually go to the movies to see it, but i wil definitely try my hardest to catch it if it comes on TV. MJ was definitely one of the most talented people EVER. Yes, he was weird, but he still rocked it out!
  • Foopher
"I can’t help but notice the over-hyping of Michael in this trailer"

    Uhmmm.... duh?
  • Daniel
Okay, so I bite the heads off of cute kittens but I've never been for court for it. And oh wait touching little boys is a bit worse than animal cruelty I'd say. The cold shower was refreshing but I still am shaky on MJ. You know the whole molestation thing.... I also locked myself in my room waiting to be slapped in the face with the truth but it never came. So I searched the net looking for answers and all the came back was that he touched little boys.... Sorry folks I tried.
  • @grandmother - Fair enough. May I have a hard candy please? :)
  • @Grandmother

Overall you'll find that we have one of the more civil discussion areas online here at Screen Rant, but some topics do elicit a bit more... conflict than others.

  • Grandmother
Paul - Yes, Grandmothers do make the best cookies.

Everyone is entitled to share their opinion whenever they wish. It's been that way since the beginning of time, and I have a feeling, it will continue until the end of time. As for incivility, the short-term is for lack of rudeness, etc. My post was not rude, or directed to you or anyone else for that matter.

I never gave the impression that MJ cured disease, solved poverty, or walked on the moon. He didn't have to play instruments because his talent came from within his soul, his voice and his artistry. As for combing his own hair, I couldn't tell you because I didn't have the opportunity to know him personally. Did you?

Yes, he was an ordinary man, but one with a talent that will never be replaced, admired, appreciated, and loved by so very many people in this world. I'm probably 3xs your age, and let me tell you, all things diminsh as we get older. Every dog has its day.

I admired his courage, and his strength to overcome personal trials and tribulations, to continue what he felt he was here to do....share the love in his heart, make a difference in the planet, and help countless sick children. As a matter of fact, that's where he problems bagan.

And lastly, I'm at the age in my life where I can decide who I think deserves to be on a pedestal, and if it's Michael Jackson, so be it. Please don't attack me for doing so. It's my perogative, and I've certainly earned that much in my lifetime.
  • @grandmother - 1st - I love your cookies; 2nd - are you saying I'm allowed to have my opinion but not allowed to share it because it differs from yours? How "incivil" is that? Why is that only people looking at an ENTERTAINER through rose-colored glasses are the ones with the right to talk?

MJ didn't cure the world of disease, he didn't rid the earth of poverty or walk on the moon. He didn't play his own instruments, or comb his own hair. He was an ordinary man with an extraordinary voice and the ability to dance. Although as he got older his dance moves lost their "fresh" factor.

Stop putting the man on a pedestal on which he doesn't deserve to sit.
  • Grandmother
One more thing, don't we have enough incivility going on in the world.

Live your life today as if it were your last because it could be.
  • Grandmother
Just like my dear Mom taught me, if you can't say anything good, don't say anything at all!!

Love, Love, Love Michael Jackson forever!!!!

God bless his children and family.
  • @darkkewlz - Of course the only two thing you mention there that are illegal would be the spying and burning down my house...both of which you are committing. Try another argument.
  • darkkewlz
    Hey! I'm your neighbor.
    I've been spying on you.
I suspect you are biting the heads off kittens,
and making pies out the innards.

So what if you really aren't,
    I suspect you are.
    I'm accusing you of it.

Now I'm burning your house down
