The first official poster for Sherlock Holmes is finally out and El Guapo from LatinoReview nabbed a photo of it while in Las Vegas over the weekend for this year’s ShoWest.
Sherlock Holmes (not to be confused with Will Ferrell’s and Sacha Baron Cohen’s upcoming comedic take on Sherlock Holmes) is directed by Guy Ritchie and stars Robert Downey Jr. as Mr. Holmes, Jude Law as Dr. John Watson, Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler and Mark Strong as Lord Blackwood.

The very dark poster features only Robert Downey Jr. looking quite fashionable with his slick suit, hat and glasses all while enjoying a puff of his favorite treat.

I think the poster is simple but it works for me just seeing RDJ as the lead and knowing it’s a Guy Ritchie flick. Unfortunately, the photos available online for this poster are not perfect but I did my best in Photoshop to get rid of the blur, the outer frame and straighten the text. When a high-quality image debuts, I’ll update the post to include that.

Not good looks like a cross between Price, Superfly, a Goth dude, very very disappointing that they are trying to go for this Bam Margera look.

hmmmmm first sec i thought that was house =)
From a female perspective; obviously, Downey is hot both personally and in marketability, so they’re pushing him. However, what made his other films work for me is relationships- I’d have felt better (considering this is a Guy Richie film) if Watson had been in there too.
