  • neontiger21
Awesome!!! I can't wait for this movie.
I have a question for those who have read the Iron Man comics. Is war machine an ally or villain to Iron Man? Please pardon my ignorance!
  • Fenix
oh shes not? My mistake I think shes got the swagger to pull it off..
  • Ken J
    LOL

Yah, I saw this on superhero hype, pretty sweet!!!

And I can't find that Empire magazine anywhere, it's British right? I don't even know if I can order the issue since it's all in pounds on their website...
  • Will
Coolest poster ive seen in a long time. War machine is already stealing the show.
  • Ken J
Oh, I was laughing at Fenix thinking that Scalett was inside War Machine, haha. :-D

That would be kind of fun too. But no Fenix, even better than War Machine, you will see her in skin tight leather. :-P

    neontiger21

War Machine starts out as a friend but it doesn't look like it will end that way. Supposedly, they may even be building him up for The Avengers but I'm not sure.
  • Fenix
Haha see Ken J is on my level!!
  • Harvey Dynamite
This poster is amazing.I will be definitely buying it
  • jwalka
looks pretty hardcore, i like how they put so much detial in the armors, its like the comics.

i hope the dop end up putting him into the avengers, even if it is a small role i still wouldnt mind seeing this kick ass armour in more than one movie ;-)
  • iwasherenotyou
So war machine is a badguy in this movie? Thought he was a good guy. 3 badguys? last time that happened it didn't work.
  • Max
    EPIC. 159 days...
  • M-Cat
    Iwasherenotyou

War Machine isn't supposed to be a bad guy in this movie, he's a friend of Starks so something could happen between them by the end of the movie setting it up for The Avengers.
  • M-Cat
I heard War Machine fights along side Iron Man in this movie but who really knows what will happen.
  • stpau1y
From all I have read, War Machine starts off as an Iron Man replacement, then reluctant ally/friend, then sort of villain, then leaves for a bit, comes back and they are friends
  • Ken J
That was the comic book's version I believe. But I think they will introduce the character a little differently in the movie...
  • Sam
The thing with war machine is that he's not tony. Tony is a happy go lucky guy and he wants to atone for his early life by doing good. WM is a government type and so they are friends but they have different backgrounds and differrent agendas. WM starts as his friend but they eventually have problems and go their seperate ways. IronMan is always the good guy and WM sometimes gets his wires crossed. I think for this movie that WM will be a good guy for basicly the whole movie but we will prob see some forshadowing of his split with Tony by the end of the movie. I'm way, way excited!!!!
  • Stephie
    @The Big Dentist...

    LMAO!

I didn't blow a gasket, but I have to tell you... that poster for IM2 is totally SWEET! IM and WarMachine? Oh, yeah... we're talking about some serious butt-kicking going on here.

Now... WHEN do we get to see the trailer for IM2? That's when I'll blow a gasket. ;)
  • Evan
Are his eyes red in the comics? I thought they were white like Iron Man's.

I think the red makes him look more "evil"
  • Manuscript6
    just three letters
    W-O-W
  • Ken J
I'm not planning on watching Sherlock Holmes at the theater, so hopefully the trailer is released online at the same time...

Comic origin of War Machine (as originally happened -- before any retcons)...

During the "Death of Tony Stark" saga, a Japanese manufacturer hires the Masters of Silence to assassinate Tony -- they were "mislead" into believing Tony built faulty coolant valves for their energy plant. When the Masters show up, they face an life model decoy variant of the Modular armor. Tony remotely piloted it from his deathbed as his nervous system is too weak to don an actual armor. The Masters destroy the LMD model easily.

Tony, needing to up the fire power builds the War Machine armor for one purpose, to mop the floor the Masters of Silence. Tony dons the armor, has a showdown with the MOS, during which Jim reveals they were setup by Justin Hammer. The Masters then team up with Tony -- in the War Machine armor -- and take hammer down.

Upon his "death" Tony bequeaths War Machine Mark II to Jim. With the world believing Tony is dead, he leaves it to Jim to protect Stark Enterprises from various bad guys and an international conglomerate of super bad execs (Roxxon, Hydra, etc) from taking over SE.

Tony, while never really dead, wakens from his cryogenic freezing, and reveals to Jim he wasn't dead. Jim promptly quits and keeps the War Machine armor. For the better part of two years, they are odds over Tony keeping his "death" a secret from Jim.

Then various reboots, retcons, Eidolon - something alien war machine - warwear and I learned to hate Marvel after they hired Terry Kavanaugh to replace Len Kaminski who was the greatest (apologies to Dave and Bob) Iron Man writer ever.

Whoops, it was the Telepresence armor, not an LMD!
