Alice In Wonderland Official Site Plus Script Review

3 years ago by Rob Frappier

alice in wonderland1 Alice In Wonderland Official Site Plus Script Review

On Monday, we shared some great new pictures from Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. The pictures gave us our first look at Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, as well as Anne Hathaway as the White Queen and Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen – they also showed Burton’s decidedly creepy vision for the classic story.

Today, Disney released the official website for Alice In Wonderland and, well, compared to the pictures, it’s kind of a let down.

Right now, all there is the title treatment (seen above) and the Mad Hatter’s Hat (seen below).  Of course, there’s a place to sign up for e-mail updates, so I’m willing to bet that the site will become more interactive in time. Being the Tim Burton fan that I am, I’ve signed up for updates and will share them as they come out.

In addition to the official website, pop culture news site CC2K has released a review of the film’s screenplay by Linda Woolverton. Without giving too much away, the script review confirms our earlier report that Burton’s Alice will not be a straight adaptation, but rather a sequel of sorts featuring Alice as a 17-year old who visited Wonderland as a child, but has since forgotten her adventures. For the full review, which is chock full of spoilers, check here.

Alice In Wonderland is currently in post-production and is scheduled to hit theaters and 3D IMAX on March 5, 2010.

I can’t stand Burton, but I really am looking forward to this film. I think most of what Burton does aside from animation just simply sucks, but this is something pretty cool along the lines of American Magees.

Gina – Have you ever read Alice In Wonderland or just seen the Disney movie? The book is quite dark. I think this subject is perfect material for Burton.

maybe you guys should just realize that Tim Burton is trying to create a new form on this. the world isn't always a happy place so why not emo it up and make this movie dark and mysterious . its fun to change things up and not make boring remakes of movies. like .. for example rob zombie's version of Halloween. he .. in my opinion made a good version of a classic horror. ^66^ why not make a different version of a good, children's classic and make it more mature and sophisticated. don't live in the stone age. go into the future! boom boom ! ha sorry wanted to state my opinion. byez

What did the hatter say to Alice at the end of the movie when she was going to leave wonderland?

Sounded like some reference to aunts being expendable?! A script would be nice but it would only take away from the intrigue of the movie.

I saw the movie the second week it came out and I must say Tim Burton did a preety good job transforming the colorful and bubly story into something dark and like most people say emo. I enjoyed it and the mad hatter , classic he was awsome he acted like some kids version of the excersist I have to say I would love to see it again.

I loved all the alice and wonderland games and movies. Its a big part of my life so I was wondering if any one would make a movie out of the American McGee’s Alice part one and part two. It was an amazing game and there are a lot of people, including myself, who would love to see this dark work of art as a movie. Thanks :)
