Thank you for posting that Angie. Its about time someone let the public know what kind of man Russell really is. Some of the bloggers just seem to make stuff up for the sake of making noise.

I am thrilled to see someone who knows him as we, his fans know him. I’ve been lucky enough to meet him casually a few times and he was always cordial, polite and appreciative of his fan base. I’m sure he is just as wonderful to his staff.

Guys…you dont have to believee me, but Ive met the man in person a few times now. My cousin worked on Gladiator, master and Commander and 3:10 to Yuma in make-up, and worked closely with Rusty in all 3 films. I live in the Uk, and got to meet him whilst filming the opening battle scene. He’s a lovely warm hearted guy who doesnt want any B.S. – give it to him straight, and he’ll respect you. Mess him around, lie to him or piss him off, and you’ll know about it.
It was my 18th birthday during the shoot…my cousing told him when I was there and I got to go for a ride on the big dark bay horse he rode during the film with him and a few of the other guys, there were also drinks after the shoot one of the days…not my bday, but Russ made sure me, my cousin and plenty of the crew were invited and he bought more than his fair share. For the last 7 years Ive had a birthday card posted to me from Russ…not always on time – but still…

After the shoot he paid for a lot of the make-up and wardrobe people he worked with to have a break. After Master and Commander he sent some, my cousin included on holiday to Hawaii for a rest.

He has a few rescue horses on his ranch, puts a lot of money into charities and is a very quiet private guy who just wants to live a normal life with his family.

Hes not rude, hes not angry…dont believe a lot of what the tabloids say. One fight he was supposedly in in London, he was singing with his band in New York! The papers dont like him…you shouldnt judge

He doesnt patronise people, he tells it like it is, and wants people to be the same with him. He’s and amazing dad to Charlie and Tenny, and Danni is a lovely woman.

Please dont comment about what you dont know and just accept him for what he is – one of the most accomplished actors of this generation

Russell Crowe already has the accent for Robin Hood or the sheriff (or something like it at least); though he’ll probably have to get a bit slimmer than what his recent role in Body of Lies

well, i can say with certainty that filming will begin in the new year in surrey, england. the set is one of the biggest built in this country, it involves building a church, inns, hovels, fields of crops,and a river. the movie will be very dark and gory. lots of blood and guts, horses will be cut in half and soldiers slain. this is definatly not going to be for family viewing. construction resumes next week.

Funny thing about Bale, right now you can start any rumor about him being the lead in any movie, and you’d be right at least 50% of the time.

Sorry Darren I think most dislike it for other reasons other then the fact that you think it’s brilliant.

Sorry but the twist is far to cliche and sounds like just another awful M. Night Shyamalan film. WHAT A TWIST!!!

I thought it would of been interesting to do it the way that the film sounded the first time around. Robin Hood actually being a bad guy but when you add in the twist he’s a good guy again. Same old Same old. To be honest I always thought some one should do a film where Robin was the villian because in my opinion he is no matter how much they try to defend him. Even as a kid I always considered him a bad guy.

I don’t really know how the Robin Hood legend can possibly benefit from being crossed with the Scarlet Pimpernel, but okay. I wonder if this will ever see the light of day.

Personally from what I’ve heard most of the off set stories are rumors or true but blown out of perportion. However doesn’t matter to me all I care about is the film. He could snort coke off a transvestite for all I care. If his films are good and if his performance is good that’s all that matters at the end of the day. You are not supporting his personally life merely a good film and a great performance.

He was excellent in Gladiator. 3:10 to Yuma and American Gangsta.

Crowe was great in Gladiator , but then his ego went (Kevin Costner) and he believed he was the best thing going.
I’ve heard nothing but the worst about the guy off screen.

Spends around 10 million for a wedding party and throws phones at Hotel staffers.

I liked him in “310 to Yuma”, but the film wasn’t all about him so I delt with it, and it was a free dvd so I didn’t really support him….

Russell Crowe = can’t stand the guy won’t see any film he’s the lead star.

Robin Hood = havnt cared about him since I first wacthed Star Wars back in 77.

Well that ruins the film for me. I thought they were gonna actually make the sheriff the good guy and Robin the bad guy and do something interesting. The twist just makes it to where Robin Hood is still a good guy technically because they are the same guy. Very disappointing

The sad thing is that there would be no way to keep this a secret in todays Hollywood unless they lied about who was cast as Robin like in Batman Begins with Ra’s Al Ghul. I dont think they could pull it off though since people would be far to eager to know who was playing Robin Hood.

Actually, I like this twist. In the legend, they are bitter enemies but to have them be one in the same, I like it. It also sounds very Zorro-like, Zorro being an aristocrat and the vigilante fighting the aristocracy.
