So, Cavemen, based on the Geico commercials, airs tonight on ABC. By the time many of you read this, it will have premiered and the world may have just come to a startling, explosive end. Just kidding. I know I’m not tuning in, but we here at Screen Rant would love to hear what you think.
Heck, Vic may have “taken one for the team,” and watched the premiere episode. It’s a fact that the original pilot, officially screened earlier this year for major television critics, was rated the worst new show for this season. So, ABC and the Cavemen producers re-worked it, recast some parts, and the new pilot is what you’re seeing tonight. But those pesky critics didn’t get a chance to see it beforehand.

Probably because it’s so rotten! I happened to catch a glimpse of the unaired pilot when a friend emailed me a link to it. I couldn’t get past 5 minutes of the show, ugh!
Anyway, leave a comment letting us know what you thought, if you happened to watch the new pilot tonight. If I do watch the show at some point, it could be that I really need to be reminded of how great shows like Heroes and South Park really are. Okay, that was an easy joke.
Watch at your own risk! (Maybe it’ll be better than that old show, The Mullets…)

It was semi-painful to watch, but not the worst thing I’ve ever seen. The racial angle was so blatant you could trip over it, and one of the problems WITH the racial thing is that they were so mainstream. It wasn’t like they ran around wearing animal skins for clothes. What I mean is that it didn’t equate to misunderstood rapper-looking dudes with their pants around their butts, tons of bling and speaking in “ebonics,” who although they look and act different are just, um misunderstood.
I doubt it will catch on.

Vic, I thought you were gonna skip this? Am I the only one who thinks Geico hasn’t put out a clever or funny commercial for a long time, and the caveman commercials were dreadful? They used to have the two-ads in a row thing going. They earned their brand with the “great news–I just saved a bundle on car insurance” or whatever.
Oops–sorry, Vic, it didn’t show up on my e-mail but I see on this page it was Heath who said he’d skip the show.
Yeah, I’m the guy he said would take the bullet…
Actually I absolutely love all the Geico commercials. I’m even a customer.

‘Cavemen’ can’t do it
We liked the ads, Geico. We really did. Even though some of them at this point probably don’t need another repeat airing.
As soon as I saw the “rap” in the show I turned it off… we have enough of the losers around us without putting more of it on TV.
