very interesting idea on bringing out films instead of the series.

I’l admit the show has lost its way and it’s a shame that the franchise is losing it’s fan support
(ofcourse they only have themselves to blame for that)
I agree the show needs to stop – not indefinitly but atleast a hiatus should be considered.

personally I think they should stick to bringing out special’s instead, theyre bringing out atleast 22 episodes per season about once a year, ofcourse there tired of doing it, ofcourse there struggling for jokes & originallity.
They should bring out perhaps 6 episodes each year – maybe even jst 1 a year. it would also grab the audiences attention
again & hopefully it would be alot funnier.
I know I could get behind that as apose to them literally trying to get blood from a stone in finding original storylines.

ask for a sequel I have no idea what they could make it about
I dont think the Movie was that bad…I mean did anybody see season 18? It was a right MESS,
I grew up with the simpsons. I want to see it go Gracefully

Loved the Simpsons for so long, but yes, getting tiresome. The movie was good but really not up to their standard.

I’d still rather watch a bad Simpsons than most other comedies, but a shame to see them slipping.
Think the first one I lost it with was the one co-written by Ricky Gervais. Just didn’t work for me.

So not disappointed in no sequel, but stopping the tv show to work on one could be a good idea.

The movie was so so. Not nearly as bad as what’s on TV now, I tuned in to an episode the other day out of sheer boredom/curiosity and switched over after about 2 minutes. For me, season 9 was the turning point where it all started going downhill (Skinner isn’t really Skinner… yeah). I’d say seasons 4 through 8 were the golden years.

As you say, they need to let it die. It’s too late for them to go out on a high note, or to leave with dignity, but they may as well just finish it off and be done with it.
