I’m with you. I posted the first FF2 and Transformers trailers and even though I’m *really* excited to see both of these movies, I won’t watch any more clips or look at any more pictures.

Thank you for posting about other stuff! :)

You have hard-earned dollars? =\
I need to get me some of those. LOL

I agree with you, Vic.I’ll watch 2 trailers of a movie at most. After that, nada. I’ll read the hype about it, or the reviews, but I like to keep something of the story/plot a mystery. I can only imagine what its like for a critic much as yourself.

Yeah, sometimes it’s a double edged sword. I can’t imagine how spoiled I’ll be by the time Iron Man comes out!

They want to keep you interested, despite the reviews, early looks, crappy trailers and the fact that these movies will suck.

Inconnu, LOL… Well they have to get their money back. :-)
You’re probably right about FF2. Are you a long-time Transformers fan? I think THOSE are the folks that will really hate it from what I’ve read so far.

Yeah, The Fanboys for Transformers are the worst to date! I also agree that they’re over-kill the trailers for both these movies. It sucks the spirit from the movie! I’m betting FF2 will suprise doubter in a positive way and Transformers will give Spidey3 and POTC3 a run for THIS years blockbuster title. Ironman has next years locked! LOL

Adrian, from the few comments I’ve read here in elsewhere I may have to agree with you. Personally I don’t see the big deal, but then again I look at my own love of the Iron Man character, so I can’t really say anything. :-)

Speaking as a long time Transformers fan, I do keep watching the new TF clips, just hoping there might be something to convince me that I’m wrong about how bad this movie is. Seeing as I am currently planning on not seeing the TF movie, I no longer care about the it being spoiled. After all, from my perspective it’s already been spoiled, so what more is there to lose.

I’ve been following the progress of the movie since 2003, following all the news that didn’t contain plot or story spoilers, and everything from the announcement of the director has, effectively, been bad news. I’ve reached the point where I’m now trying to see if there’s even a plot or story to spoil. So far, I’ve found no evidence there is, and that’s after reading the leaked script that looks like it bears an uncanny resemblance to what’s been shown.

As for Fantastic Four, I’m planning to see that, and I am avoiding any spoilers for that, so I can certainly understand where you’re coming from. I usually steer clear of any such leaks about movies I plan to see myself.

adrian, you know why Transfans may be the worst critics to date? Because Transformers doesn’t have the same following or recognition as many other properties that have been done. The fact that various people among the production staff have made disparaging remarks about the property and the fans both also adds to our concern.

We’re looking at something that goes far beyond organic web-shooters or black leather instead of yellow spandex. We’re looking at a complete departure from the aesthetic in a movie led by a director who initially turned down the move.

There are many examples I can cite, many stories I can tell from my time following the development of the movie, but the bottom line is many of us feel like Transformers is not being treated the level of respect one might expect given that it’s been around, and active, for over 20 years.

Saw FF2 …Tim Story did a near perfect job! FF2:ROTSS was in one word… FANTASTIC! The sequel is leaps and bounds improved over the first film. Tim Story ‘REALLY’ hit out of the park with the direction of the film in action, plot, and the how the FF team true characteristics and the Surfer was amazing and Doom was much better as a villian this go around. Differently bettre that Spiderman 3 in entertainment and plot! The ONLY haters of this movie complain about how Galactus appears is in the movie, in which my oppinion was how a true planet eating god would appear in gulfed in the power cosmic. a big purple giant would not work so well. This film is a must see!

I won’t go so far as to call it amazing, but it was good and definitely better than the original film. So much better in fact that it may be coloring the opinions of a lot of fans who go see it. I reviewed it today and was kind to it, but if you judge it on it’s own instead of compared to the first you’ll probably agree that it was good, but not great.

I did enjoy it quite a bit though, and BTW, the “haters” are complaining about a lot more than Galactus as a storm cloud. :-)
