Megan Fox became something of a household name after playing Mikaela Banes in Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Unfortunately, she had a very public falling out with director Michael Bay and was immediatey replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whitely in Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
Well, it looks like the two have finally made up, because Megan Fox has been cast as April O’Neil in the Bay-produced Ninja Turtles reboot.
Michael Bay made the casting announcement on his blog, saying simply:
TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!

Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter has laid out the details of the reconciliation between Michael Bay and Megan Fox and confirmed that Fox will be playing April O’Neil, the tough-as-nails redheaded reporter and best female pal to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Apparently, director Jonathan Liebesman won Fox over with his awesome storyboards, which probably means she didn’t join the cast because of the screenplay’s complex character development.
It’ll be interesting to see whether or not TMNT fans embrace – or reject – Fox being cast as April O’Neil, especially after the very negative reaction to the leaked script (which Bay claimed was merely an early, terrible draft). She’s certainly not the first actress who springs to mind when thinking about the April O’Neil of the comic books, the cartoons, or the original movie series, and not just because she’s a brunette either. Is Fox’s casting further confirmation that Ninja Turtles will be a major creative departure from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles of yore?
Last we heard, the titular turtles would be aliens instead of mutants, and the antagonists would be a covert military group led by Colonel Shredder. There’s no telling if that’s what we’ll end up seeing when Ninja Turtles finally reaches theaters, but you can probably expect a certain “Bay”-ification of the source material if Fox as April O’Neil is any indication.
In other Ninja Turtles news, the filmmakers are apparently testing actors for the roles of the Ninja Turtles (Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael), who will be motion-captured for the big screen. There’s no word on precisely who was tested, but according to THR, they’re “mostly relative unknowns” – which I suppose leaves room for all the Corey Feldman fans out there who are hoping for his return as Donatello.

Megan Fox can’t act, the only reason why she was in both Transformers is for the sex appeal, and having the turtles coming from outer space is ridiculous, do it right like in the comic books and cast the right ppl for it too.

No, he’s not jealous; he’s stating a fact. Pearl Harbour is historically inaccurate rubbish. Bad Boys is only an enjoyable popcorn flick. That’s hardly a great movie. Transformers is just brain-dead trite. Finally Megan Fox is not amazing nor “sexy as hell” (how can hell be sexy?) she is just a glorified skank. She is both a terrible actress and a terrible choice for the role of April O’Neil. I cannot emphasize enough how awful a choice she is. There are literally hundreds of actresses better suited for the role of April. You want her to be sexy? Ok, that’s fine. Just don’t cast some talentless, objectified girl to play a role for which she doesn’t even look the part!
For the record, I am not a huge fan of the show. I like it, but not that much. I only complain because I am sick and tired of seeing classic franchises being ruined by Bay and Friends. Her casting infuriates me for two reasons: the first being listed in the paragraph above and the second being MICHAEL BAY LIKE IT WEN DA HOT GIRL DO HOT STUF FOR MEN AUDIANSE BECUZ WOMAN SUPOES TO BE HOT. THEY ONLY HOT AN HAV NO BRAIN OR EMOTIANz. I NO RITE SEXIST CHARACTER!
Just for fun, I have decided to list some actresses that are better suited for the role than Megan Fox: Emma Stone, Jayma Mays, Alyson Hannigan, Bryce Dallas Howard, Isla Fisher, and Alison Lohman. (please note that is just a list of actresses that would be better choices than Fox and not the perfect actress for the role)

Man, I had really hoped that the project was going to be shelved indefinitely due to the backlash a few months ago. Miss Fox may be attractive, but her performances are lackluster and she with this role,
bay hasn’t been obsessed with just aliens for the excuse of explosions, but he seems to want to try and cash in on franchises in general now. From his sad creative decisions in the horror remakes to cashing in on Transformers and now Ninja Turtles, I missed it when he at least tried to make different things like Armageddon, Bad Boys, and The Rock. His early work was some of his best.
I won’t get my hopes up, but if it surprisingly turns out good, then I’ll be damned.

There has already been plenty of tv series and other tmnt related media that ruined the franchise long ago before this movie was even considered, so we’re all already used to watching alot of crappy tmnt related entertainment that if this movie is even somewhat good we’ll be very surprised but if it’s a ridiculous piece of crap it’s not really going to be that big of a deal. My main opposition like most other fans of the original movies and comics is with casting Megan Fox for the role of april, this is a horrible decision as there are a ton of actresses out there who would fill this role properly. Fox cannot act to save her life. Don’t get me wrong, I like T&A like any other guy, but if I wanted to waste time watching half naked skanks who can’t act play a role of one of my favorite childhood characters I would download some kind’ve softcore porn based of an old movie series like this. Please put someone else in charge of casting who knows what they’re doing.
