[Update: We now have the official third trailer to share!]

[Re-update: We also have a clip from the film to share!]

The third trailer for New Line Cinema’s remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street is floating around online and it… well, pretty much offers the same things we’ve seen in the advertising campaign so far.

Teenagers in peril as they struggle to stay awake, flashes of creepy, blue-lit nightmarish landscapes, and Jackie Earle Haley exuding menace as Freddy Krueger while delivering his lines in what is quickly becoming his trademark Rorschach breed raspy voice.

If you’re not already looking forward to this new horror flick, then the trailer won’t help much.

Unfortunately we learned that the new trailer is a bootleg, and we don’t post those kinds of things here on Screen Rant. That said, look for an update soon when the new trailer has been officially released.

Update: Thanks to Bloody-Disgusting we now have the official HD third trailer for A Nightmare On Elm Street:

Bloody-Disgusting also debuted this clip from the film:

Also, be sure to check out a shot of the the new Nightmare On Elm Street movie poster – again, courtesy of the folks at Bloody Disgusting:

It’s pretty minimalist in design (in case it wasn’t clear before, Freddy likes to use his metal claws to slash things) but it gets the job done.

What do you folks think?  Feeling more excited?  Less?  Pretty much the same as before?

A Nightmare on Elm Street hits theaters on April 30 this year.

  1. I'm actually looking forward to this remake. I just hope it turns out more darker and less comedic.

  2. That's what they are going for. I just hope it brings back the lucid, twisted stuff that the first delivered without Freddy saying hardly anything.

  3. haley sounds like Rorschach, anyone else notice this too?

  4. eh…………not looking forward to this new Freddy so much…………..just sayin

  5. I'm looking forward to this but the initial reviews are not that great. I have a screening for this too but kinda far from my house.

On a related note, the original is coming to Blu Ray and I think I'll pick that up. That movie, along with the 1st Hellraiser, freaked me the hell out when I was a kid.

  6. Yeah in some scenes it's spot on with Rorschach, but in other scenes it's deviated a bit. It depends on what he's saying.

  7. i love these moviers

  8. Can we really believe that a pure horror film (not some hack and slash Saw stuff) will get a strong positive review (excluding from screen rant ;) )

  9. ugh he sounds like he's just reading from a script…

  10. I love that one line, though, “Why are you screaming? I haven't even cut you yet.”

  11. true that is a fun line… just wish it was said with a little more malice to actually make people scared…

  12. I must see this movie, I even believe it could blow away the old series on it´s own.
I love the new dark freddy, freddy was always awesome, but he lost his scary touch.
Freddy needs to be feared, not to be a comedy act. Just like they did to chucky.
A joke is fine, but sometimes it takes over the origin of the character.
I put my bets on this new version. I hope it doesn´t let me down, like H2 or Friday the 13th. I can´t wait.

  13. Come on Hollywood, isn't there one Screen writer-storyteller that can come up with an origianl idea anymore, instead thepublic has to endure countless remakes, reboots Yada yada yada….I'm sick of them. You have director's completly trashing classic movies, all in the name of making a buck. In my humble opinion, what really put me over the top is Rob Zombie's impersonation of a director, and the bastardizing, and total destruction of the greatest independant horror movie in history, as in his version of Michael Myers and Halloween! Garbage, Texas Chainsaw Massacre..Garbage…Jason Voorhees Friday the 13th..Garbage! I caught the one true Jason Voorhees Kane Hodder pissing on a copy of the New version of Friday the 13th! And, if it isn't crap like this, then there's this other new hot thing, 3-D, and the biggest pile of garbage to be released in 3-d is this rated G child's movie, Avatar. More Garbage!!!! Please, John Carpenter, come out of retirement and show them how it's done!!
