I had to leave after the first Nero/Enterprise scene. I forgot that IMAX makes me barf. Nearly lost my brocoli beef all over the front row.

I'm so glad Mrs. Roddenberry lent her voice to this project, 'Star Trek' won't be the same without her. RIP.

IMAX makes me barf (screen is too big and causes me motion sickness), but i gotta say that i'm pretty stoked about this film. i wasn't even a big fan of the others, but the trailer has gotten me pretty excited. so much so, i even tracked down the music from the trailer and d/l it.

@Lank

In regards to digital re-mastering, I've seen the special features on a couple of classic films and it's amazing what they can do to enhance/restore what is there, in effect adding detail that wasn't there.

Isn't grain part of what makes film look like film? I'm not convinced about re-mastering. You can't add detail that wasn't there, and by removing the grain you're removing detail, and effectively degrading the quality.

I haven't seen it done though (still an IMAX virgin!) so maybe I shouldn't judge until I have. :)

I think thats great news Vic. I'll be seeing it in IMAX as well, even though the closest IMAX theater is 2 hours from my home. I'm not the biggest fan of 3D, but some films are just plain better in that format. All of the action sequences in The Dark Knight that were shot using those cameras were awesome. But I don't think all films should be 3D.

But its funny, because seemingly we have a 3D revolution starting. The folks over at Disney seem to be big fans of the format, and they are going to try to push it big time. Actually, if anyone is interested, my buddy 790 wrote up a bit on that story over on our site. It really went under the radar. Check it out if you are interested, just click my name to go to our site. The story is called Here Comes 3D and I f
ing hate it.

It is probably just getting started. Sad thing is, some people have vision problems and they just can't enjoy 3D films. So if we do make a transition to 3D, what happens to those movie fans? I certainly hope it never happens. But it is a possibility. As Jeffrey Katzenberg said, "3-D is how we see, how we take things in. Its natural. This is not a gimmick, its an opportunity to immerse the audience, to heighten the experience"

I really recommend everyone check that story out if the subject interests you. But I digress... Star Trek in IMAX is going to be awesome!!!
