Spawn is awsome and the rest of the story line in the aanimated series has the potental to be amazing. If you look at the symbolism this is perhaps one of the deeper comic books from the 90′s.

The guy who wrote all this should be banned from writing future columns where ANIME is concerned. Muppet, if you don’t know the difference between a cartoon and an animation by now, you never will.
P.S., If it was by chance a tactic used to relate to general audiences then I applaud the effort, however, it is wasted as Todd more than likely couldn’t give a rats ass about appealing to those people, you know, the ones who can’t tell the difference.

i have the three seasons of spawn animated series on dvd, but i could swear there were more episodes involving the office of the angels where there was a boss lady telling the angels to try harder to kill spawn or something !! am i wrong or were there more when it was on hbo !!

The thing that most struck me about the Animated version vs. the live film was the very well done use of narrative in the cartoon. (By the old bum). It kept the focus on the story and made it easier to be objective about what was going on in the story arc.
The movie aspired to be watchable, but just couldn’t ever shake off the impression that no one in it, including Spawn, was ever really that important…

The animated series wasn’t better than the film because it featured R-rated material, it was better because it actually had talented writers and directors.
