This movie should be really good. Guy Ritchie is a slick director and you have to enjoy his style and the witty british dialog to enjoy his films. He does look like hes swaying a bit towards the “hollywood blockbuster” style with all those American actors. But nonetheless i still have high hopes. I absolutely loved Rocknrolla and I await that sequel as well.

Am interested in seeing this. Think I will either love it or hate it.

Law as Watson seems a bit ready to dish out some punishment. Not a bat or club resting on his shoulder, probably a cane, but the pose is right and the ‘Crime will pay’ fits.
I’d really like to see a Watson who wasn’t Holmes’s bumbling sidekick.

Had a lot of doubts, but starting to like this, and Mark Strong will be worth watching, no question.

So did anyone see the trailer? The one that looked like it belonged in Tropic Thunder as a mock trailer? I mean isn’t this the the very peak of Hollywood selling out? Take a well known property with an built in audience and decent name recognition and, forgetting everything about the source material, turn it onto a summer blockbuster. You know, lets forget that he’s a detective who solves murders, lets make him really buff, shirtless fighting someone for no good reason and just for the hell of it, lets throw in some explosions and breasts.

And it’s not as if I’m even that big of a fan of Sherlock Holmes, but this all just seems utterly ridiculous. And I like RDJ, so it’s sad to see him in something like this.

At least he has the accent down pat.

Mark, yep, you’re right, those heads seem not to fit very well with their respective roles.
On the other hand, I’d really like to see one featuring Rachel McAdams, that one would really sell!!

In looking at the larger pics, I notice the lighting on RDJs jacket is the exact opposite angle of the lighting on his face and neck.

I don’t know. The heads don’t seem to match the bodies. They look a little big compared to the body. The lighting seems to be from different angles as far as the head vs body. I’m thinking they photoshopped the actors’ heads on a someone else’s body. Just look at RDJs collar.
