Here are some new stills from the upcoming Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, the sixth installment in the popular film franchise based on J.K. Rowling’s über-popular series of books.

Half Blood Prince covers the dark times as evil Lord Voldermort (Ralph Fiennes) is tightening his grip on both the wizard and muggle worlds. Hogwarts is no longer a haven for Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) and friends, and even Dumbledore seems intent on preparing his wards for the war which lies before them
To me, these Harry Potter movies have gotten better and better as subsequent films have been released, and from what I hear, it’s much the same case for the books, too. I’ll be going to see HPATHBP (wow, that’s one long frickin acronym!) but really, I feel like this film is probably just going to be a seat-warmer for the two-part final installment, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows.
I’m not a rabid Potterite, and understand that the series has many, many, fans, so I won’t poo-poo Half-Blood Prince too much. After all, director David Yates did a bang-up job applying the necessary dark-touch to Order Of The Phoenix, which is probably why Warner Bros. chose to stick with him for the duration of the franchise.
Take a look at the stills and let us illiterate types know just how excited we should (or should not) be for HPATHBP. The film is due in theaters November 21, 2008. It will star everyone you know from the other films.

If the last 3 films are as good as the last two books, your in for a really good treat
I dunno, I wasn’t huge on the direction the final two books took.
They were awesome books, don’t get me wrong, I just don’t think they were good enough to end the series, and some of the plot points were kind of out there.
Half Blood Prince should be two films and Deathly Hallows should be one. HBP is the longest HP book and not very much happened for most of DH. DH was a disappointment.
HBP was actually fourth longest. I believe that DH was second, with OOTP in 1st. That’s the most recent one for non-Potterites.
it was really clever of them actually to make the last book into two movies. i grew up in the weird world of harry potter fandom and let me tell you, im ready to kill the idiot who suggested it. to be quite frank, i think more people would sit through a six hour hp movie if they followed the book!!! *sighs* finished me rant have a good one!
I LUV HARRY……THE ‘BOY WHO LIVED’ AND LOOK FORWARD EGARLY TO WATCH TGHIM MOVIE.HARRY…….THE HERO OF THE WORLD,THE SYMBOL OF ALL GOODNESS,THE POWER OF INNOCENCE……….
I’m amazed at the fact that they havnt used two movies for the 5th movie. It could have been way longer and it was unfinished!
this film is going to be the baddest. I just hope they don’t screw it up to much… really to tell you the truth I just want to see katie bell. I hope they don’t give her scene to cho, because they casted her again. In the books we know, she’s barely mentioned. I just wish they follow the rules alittle. for fan’s sake.
haha Ron is so cute smiling in that picture!!
I love draco..
well the books have a nice smattering of side plots that are slowly being tied up in addition to the main storyline in book six. With that being the case, the last book deals exclusively with the quest and as such, has little to be pared away when it comes to the story itself. They are given the same treatment that the LOTR books received in that there is simply too much good stuff in the books to get it ALL into the movies, but thus far, Kloves et all of the screenwriters have done an admirable job of getting the spirit of the books onto the screen with making the correct calls on the compromises that HAVE to be made. Remember, the original target audience for these stories starting with book 1 is 11 years old. As the reader has matured, so have the stories and the movies.
Yay!!! Another non-Harry Potter obsessor! We few must stick together :).
for the two coments above, anyone who has read the hp books more than once can and will spot the little things that will ultimatly change the story line in the next movies. as the fifth and sixth books were out before they started production, they should have had it so that they were not leaving out important plot lines and stuff for the next movie. it does screw it up for the people that want the movie to follow the book. there are alot of us trust me. i will admit that they did a good job but they are missing angles that i dont think non hp obsessors even realized would be vital.
I just the movie to follow the main ideas. If you can’t PLEASE be creative with it. like the quidditch picture, I see that katie bell is her quidditch robes AND dean thomas, ALSO romilda vane(I think) I don’t see the two new beaters. something is weird is going on. I’m telling you.
I suggest that fans who love the story lines in the movies read the books before you see anymore of the films. I finally got the time to read the series and I think it is amazing, my favorite by far being the last! Now I see what people mean when they want a script-by-script movie. I’d gladly watch a 6 hour movie if it was worth it. But I am really annoyed at the fact that they switched the release dates!!!
I totally agree!!!! why not this month. trust when I say this “nobody has nothing on harry potter” as far as making money.
Ron is soo cute.
this is gonna be a bad movie the books are sooooooooo much better than the fims they should follow the storie line of the books.
oh my god! really?
