Just wait till you read about the film I’m reviewing there tonite. A Mindblowing tale about the loss of innocence in rural Philipines involving catholic guilt, unfulfilled sexual yearning and the loss of your favorite pet OX! Amazingly, it’s like the Citizen Kane of Filipino films and not at all trashy or sleazey like it could have been. But most definitly not for kids of National Treasure fans!

Oh yea Vic, you may see yourself picking up traffick now that The Movie Blog is gone. Don’t really have much interest in the boys doing nothing by Sci-Fi. I liked John C.’s crazy rants and out-there opinions on the more mainstream end of cinema, not the geek-genres (which have too many pundits to begin with). I wish him well though.

LOL, Kurt I’m not surprised at ALL that this one isn’t up your alley. But there are folks out there that have kids and just want to enjoy a popcorn/action flick that doesn’t demand too much of them and won’t require them to put their kids in therapy afterwards.

I think I’d have to wait for my daughter to graduate high school to take her to see many of the movies you highlight over at Twitchfilm. That’s not to say they’re aren’t good, they’re just targeting a very different audience.

Hell, I’ll take a Uwe Boll film over this any day, at least he knows how to make his B and C level actors look goofy. Take Turtletaub, give him far too many A-listers (see also RED DRAGON) and just make them look bored and slightly embarrassed spouting off dialogue that is like nails on the chalkboard (admittedly “That’s why I tell them to get a dog!” is pretty funny though).

I’ll pass on the latest Bruckheimer exercise in smug stupidity. I swear the guy laughs all the way to the bank when something like National Treasure actually makes big $$$.

Yup.

I have to hand it to Jerry Bruckheimer, really.

It seems to me, that as of late, anything he lends his name to explodes as a fantastic, box-office drawing tour-de-force.

That, or maybe I should say, just really entertaining films. All the movies he produces follow a formula of “awesome.”

1. Set up.
2. Joke.
3. Action.
4. Dialogue Progression.
5. Joke.
6. Repeat Rules 2-5 in any order for successful film.

I don’t know how he does it, but even the off-coloured Bad Boys II was atleast wildly entertaining and action-filled.

Cannot wait for National Treasure II.

It’s been a while since I saw the first one. Was there a lot of product placement in it? Really blatant placement of products drives me nuts. Once wrote an article on that.

From what I have heard they filmed “National Treasure2 and 3″ at the same time.

Can’t wait to see the new product placement,! Oh and cool dynamic storyline that rivals “Indiana Jones”.
