Director of upcoming X-Men spinoff film New Mutants, Josh Boone, announces the first teaser trailer for the movie will arrive tomorrow. Twentieth Century Fox's X-Men franchise has been around in some form or another since Bryan Singer's initial movie debuted in 2000. Since then, the franchise has completed two central trilogies - the original, then the prequels that rewrote the timeline - and has most recently begun to introduce spinoffs from the main series that have found a great deal of success. First, Deadpool debuted in early 2016 and broke a number of box office records in addition to earning acclaim from critics and viewers alike, then Logan hit theaters earlier this year and saw similar critical success.

Though Logan was the only X-Men movie to be released this year, Fox is gearing up to premiere three new movies in 2018, the first of which will be Boone's spinoff, New Mutants. Following a group of young mutants who are discovering their powers while trapped in a secret facility, the movie is said to be "like a haunted house movie" and fall into the horror genre more than any other X-Men movie. Now, for fans intrigued by the upcoming X-Men spinoff, Boone has announced when the first trailer will drop.

In an Instagram post, Boone announced the first teaser trailer for New Mutants will be released at 12:01am PST on Friday (tomorrow), which works out to 3:01am EST. The post was accompanied by the caption: "There’s Something New To Fear." Take a look below:

The main cast of New Mutants includes five young mutants: Danielle Moonstar aka Mirage (Blu Hunt), Illyana Rasputin aka Magik (Anya Taylor-Joy), Rahne Sinclair aka Wolfsbane (Maisie Williams), Sam Guthrie aka Cannonball (Charlie Heaton), and Roberto da Costa aka Sunspot (Henry Zaga). In terms of other main cast members, they'll be joined by Dr. Cecilia Reyes (Alice Braga), a mentor to the group. While the villain of New Mutants has yet to be officially confirmed, casting calls indicated Demon Bear and Warlock as possibilities (Demon Bear was part of Boone's original pitch for New Mutants, after all).

Fox has managed to keep a lid on New Mutants updates, with all photos from the set being officially released by Boone or one of the main cast members - though those didn't reveal much. The cast and crew of New Mutants wrapped filming in early September, after beginning production in July in Boston, Massachusetts, so the movie has had a rather quick production schedule. With New Mutants aiming for an April 2018 release date, it's perhaps a little early for the first teaser to debut, but the property isn't as well known as the main X-Men team so Fox is no doubt hoping to build hype as early as possible. For those who are already excited to get a first look at Fox's next X-Men spinoff, the wait won't be long now until the teaser trailer hits the web tomorrow.
