We usually wait until Friday to hit you guys with the latest movie posters from around the web, but for you Twilighters out there, we thought you’d want to see the three latest posters from The Twilight Saga: New Moon as soon after they’ve appeared online as possible (you’re welcome!).

The three new posters showcase three different sets of characters: the first is of the main bunch, which include Bella, Edward and the rest of the Cullen family; the second is of, “the wolf pack,” which features Bella’s new love interest, Jacob Black; and the third is of the new band of vampires introduced in the Twilight sequel, called the Volturi, which include Michael Sheen’s “Aro” and Dakota Fanning’s “Jane.”

In case (like me) you’ve not read the Twilight books, and thus you just go by the movies, here’s the synopsis for the Twilight sequel, New Moon:

In The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with the irresistible Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). Suddenly she finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves, ancestral enemies of the vampires, and finds her loyalties tested.

I take some heat from people (around these parts, and elsewhere) for really quite liking the first Twilight movie. And I fully admit I’m looking forward to both New Moon and the third installment, Eclipse. The final trailer for New Moon that debuted at the MTV Video Music Awards a couple of weeks ago looked real decent to me (an improvement on the first trailer, for sure). I’m especially looking forward to seeing Michael Sheen and Dakota Fanning in their respective vampire roles, two casting choices I did not see coming at all (I think they both look awesome in the third poster above).

What do you think of these latest New Moon posters? Are you expecting the movie to be better than the first Twilight?

The Twilight Saga: New Moon hits theaters on November 20th, 2009. You can already order your tickets for certain showings if you’re eager.

  1. Nice write up Ross. Thanks for being nice to us Twitards. I really appreciate it.

Yes. New Moon will be far superior to Twilight the crappy movie.

Summit Entertainment has the rest of my ‘Twilight Saga’ entertainment budget counting on the success of Weitz for New Moon. Even if I don’t appreciate New Moon, I am ridiculously excited to see what Slade does with Eclipse.

I adore Dakota Fanning and I am extremely pleased with their choosing her for the role of Jane. She will fit the part perfectly as she is very talented. Too bad they weren’t so selective with their choices for Edward and Bella and Rosalie and Dr. Cullen and Emmett…(lol, sorry i’m bitter about the casting)

This third set of posters gives too much away. They should have photographed Bella with Jacob also…just my HO. For the folks who won’t/didn’t read the books.

The Volturi do not look the way i pictured them in the books, but everyone is going to have a differing opinion on that. I think they look cheesy in a SyFy Saturday kind of way.

  2. Posters look great. I actually think the casting has been spot on so far. Exactly how I pictured them in the books. Dakota Fanning is the best casting yet. I like that way that they are going darker each story and movie like with the Harry Potter movies. Twilight was the introduction to the love story, and they are going to get darker in theme with each movie, just like the books. It will be interesting to see how they do the last one. So much brutality and blood shed in that one.

  3. I agree, Ross. I liked the first Twilight movie too, although much could have been done to make it a better movie beginning with better direction. Wasn’t sure that director had a lot of vision.

Anyway for the New Moon movie, I believe it will be much better. It looks like they may have taken some liberty with the storyline, but that won’t necessarily take away from my enjoyment of the movie. The casting for this film is even better. I can’t wait to see what the casting will look like for the fourth film where there will be so many interesting characters.

  4. I thought that the oictures were very good and i like them alot.
The boys in the wolf pack look very good for the rolls that they will be playing.

  5. Hm, I wonder why they have Jane wearing such heavy and obvious makeup.

  6. i thought the volturi is something more than usual vampires we have seen before except with special powers. the one leading? looks like a dracula.

  7. hey i think jocob is the hottest in the movie. and i think alis is the prettest in the movie!!

  8. i think that edward is the hottiest in the movie and i also think that bella is the prettiest in the movie love kristal

  9. this has been the best love and action movie i have seen love u edward
